the first meme headphones: AT-150's
i alternate between the ath meme50x and skullcandy crushers
please don't yell at me i have no money for anything better
Sol Republic Master Tracks. But I prefer Klipsch.
JBL Synchros
These headphones have probably been the best $60 I've ever spent. For someone who wears glasses, these have been the only ones comfortable to wear over a long period of time. Only thing I dislike is the chord because it sometime gets in the way due to the bulk / length.
These headphones sound like shit but they're damn near indestructible.
I bought an iPod Touch 4 that came with these and the fucking thing broke years before the buds did. My dog chewed on them, I could step on them regularly and just throw them in my backpack with no care but they worked for years.
Too bad they're know to link with permanent hearing loss.
The newer version of these headphones are great though. Much better sound quality and still indestructible.
same for me with these
Vsonic VSD1S. Cheap, decent response
I moved on to full sized headphones anyways because I produce a ton of earwax and headphones/IEMs just push it in deeper.
Only used those back in highschool before I realized how great full sized headphones sound.
I broke two pairs
By full size, do you mean over hear headphones?
I have the exact same headphones, they're great but the stupid pads started to flake. can't beat 60 dollars though
Returning some DT770's because they weren't what I expected. Being a basshead is a curse. At this rate I'll have to get Beats by Dr Nigger.. I'm trying to find some upgrade to this piece of shit (Portapro) that retains the bass. Everything higher-fi is tuned for classical music apparently.
Fucking Portapro's, why did you need to have such good bass? Pic related, the ones in the lower right. Black, red (originally, now black) with a white/black cloth cable. They used to break once every now and then, but once I got the black replacement drivers with a different kind of cloth cord, they stopped. They've been going for years now. The only fault they ever suffer from is that the cable disconnects from the driver a little. I think you could probably fix it by soldering, but you can just get a replacement for free anyway.
/blog
these, i basically got it for free and it's not really amazing in any way but i prefer them a lot more to the beats i used to have
If you're a serious basshead try the Sennheiser HD 7 DJ. They have extremely accentuated (maybe exaggerated) bass and recessed mids and highs so you can listen at high volumes without getting your ears assraped by the highs.
I own a pair and they're great.
If you think they have too much bass they're pretty easy to EQ to tone it down.
...
ATH-M50s. I was hoping they would sound better than they do, and the earphones get very uncomfortable after a while. I can't wait to upgrade at this point.
Fuck off back to Sup Forums
Oh fuck fr?
I bought a pair of UE 6000's for the longest time based on a friend's recommendation. Pretty good quality for a relatively low price. Too bad they're discontinued now.
The newer ones don't seem that bad, but those old one where the speaker is in your face is a bad one. It's like jamming a direct speaker in your ear. Newer ones use a more isolated sound to keep it from being loud. Also saw it from a friend in high school five years ago. Now he needs it at full volume just to hear the sound.
Sennheiser 558
After years of shitty 20 dollar headphones, I decided to upgrade. Fucking worth it.
...
AKG's, Baby. had em for 8 years and they still sound great
For quite some time I used a Monoprice 8323
Rather cheap at around 25 to 30 bucks. But the quality was absolutely amazing for what little I payed for a studio headset. Only issue I had with it was that after an hour or so of continuous use, they started to feel a little uncomfortable due to the tightness. But that's just me. Apart from that. The only reason I'm not using it right now is because I was given a nice Bluetooth headset for my birthday. And that makes it a million times easier when I ride my bike.
meme50's are nice. can't comprehend why you'd get the scullcandies though
they are nice but they are incredibly uncomfortable for long listening sessions
i have to say audio technica is the shittiest of the audiophile pandering brands out there.
i had them over a year in advance because i liked the bass gimmick
it's really fucking weird transitioning to the m50s because they have no bass by comparison
Sennheiser hd 380 pro
i was stupid enough to pay 700 bux on
senny ie800 for 2 reasons obviously the price and any other earphone/headphone now sounds like a grindy chinese bootleg
HTC one m7 Standard earbuds
Kicker over ear headphones
The HTC does surprisingly well with bass.
>$700 on earbuds
just
sony xb950bt, descendant of the legendary maasai warchief xb1000 for home usage and porta pros for public listening
just came in today
great for the price, I was using shitty Sony MDR e9lps until then
best 45 bucks I've spent
...
i know i'm audiophile faggot
>now there's no way back
really cheap ones outside because im afraid of them getting stolen
those ones in the party all the time music video i forgot what they're called at home
congratulations
>tfw I got MDR-V6 headphones for free
feelsgoodman.vpk
whats going on there
Congrats, you now do not care about music.
Audiophiles only care how good the speakers sound, they don't give a shit about the content of the speakers. Try lets say showing them NMH - ITAOTS, memes aside, they will sure turn that album down after the 2nd track for they claim that the musics sound quality is too poor.
Source? I met these assholes once in a audiophile convention as I was looking for a brand new bookshelves (I was willing to dish out 1.5K usd), and the people there are the worst snobs I have ever seen. Worst than those wine tasters or sport cars owners, hands down.
listening to merzbow on 100 on really hi fidelity headphones
the best
Best use of 130 euros if you intend on buying headphones.
user, why are her clothes falling off
>$1.5k USD for bookshelves
I was gonna say, after a while the pad starts to flake and peel off, although it doesn't impact on comfort sound and you can buy replacement pads for fairly cheap.
Me here The problem with looking for headphone advice or reviews online, is that all of the audiophile faggots (I'm typing this as I idle an audiophile IRC.. ) is that they all recommend shit like (your waifu a shit btw.) and it's always incredibly bass light the point where my shitty Portapro's are equal or better with the music I actually listen to. I don't care if it replicates a guitar perfectly, stop it.
I want to listen to something like youtube.com
Because she was made by Philips and their QC is shit.
Fuck. I really wanted to like the Fidelio X2, but I had to return it because of the glued pads.
>NMH-ITAOTS
i dont like this band neither this album but the sound quality is not the reason is the music itself
nonetheless i love vinyl characteristically unique sound when the music is good off course
For 99 dollars, they sound fantastic. Also, I love the way they look.
>i dont like this band neither this album but the sound quality is not the reason is the music itself
That's what I'm saying, the audio snobs only care about sound quality, not the content. Any lo-fi stuffs even critical acclaimed they wouldn't even want to play it on their systems.
Plus its ironic that these guys are all in the late forties and above, I mean their hearing has probably deteriorate yet they spend more money on equipments than a car or even some hearing aids to help them.
Also they treated me like shit, maybe because I was young, early twenties, never going back, never want to be like them.
devil
i'm 27 and i would despite and spit on you
you dont even have a 600$ headphone
Not a fan of cans, even though price to value they have more worth than speakers but cans can't dish out proper low frequencies.
Also 600 dollars is petty cash compared to what I had seen in that convention.
Top comfy
which model is this?
Skullcandy Smokin' Buds 2. Believe it or not, they sound pretty good for $20.
nice
They're also super comfortable and nearly invincible. They only problem is the super-branding. The skull logo appears 10 or 11 times.
wow, the m50's are still quite bass-heavy headphones. you're probably missing out on lots of cool music because of your headphone choice.
Best pads of all time.
Why?
i've been using the memephones for about two weeks now so i'm starting to get used to them
i can notice more details in songs but still it's a major adjustment
theyre awesome
i heard they get too hot
Hang on.. You payed 99 dollars for a pair of those? You got ripped the fuck off, man. They're the equivalent of like 35-40 here in Sweden.
yeah but at least he isn't in sweden
Got these for half price at $50. They sound equally awesome wired or via bt. The only thing I don't like is that they don't grip your head very tightly making it easy for them to fall off if you lean forward.
If it saves me 60 bucks on decent headphones, I'm happy to be here.
Nope, never had that problem. I could see it if you've got a ton of hair, though.
Just got a pair of AKG Y50 headphones today. After a long affair with Noontec's Zoro, which I loved but they started to break, and luckily I could afford to treat myself.
hey dude, guy who owned two portapros here. you need to move away from these headphones, they're trash. yes, the bass is loud as fuck and ever present, but once you listen to some bass-heavy mid-end phones you'll realize just how much you've been missing on. the portapro's bass definition and soundstage are awful. the whole low end of the spectrum is a turned into a single percussive block, sub, mid, and hi bass have no separation.
Tried the DT770. Returning it though. You're right in the better sound quality and whatnot, but I want a similar level of (percieved) bass. I don't want just highs and more highs, which is what "good sound" seems to be out of the ones I've tried so far. I want better Portapro's. That means a friendly sound profile with lots of bass. Not muddy like beats (listening to other headphones was great with the DT770's.
I can really agree on soundstage though, I once watched a video with the DT770's and I thought I had my speakers on. Took them off because I could swear it came from the "screen" (good soundstage), nope. Just headphones. I'll miss that aspect of them. Not the highs, lack of midrange and weak bass though (yes, well defined).
Any portable headphones that sound good and aren't giant MUG ME signs?
I was thinking the HD25 since they're ugly as sin and look like some cheap chink shit.
Picture is not related to the question.
please go back to maybe they can suggest you something
It was an image picket at random from my comics folder dude chill.
I can delete it if it triggers you so much
He's probably a Mud by Dr Nigger fan.
>SkullCandy
>invincible
Literally the exact opposite
you should definitely try the senn hd-25. really powerful bass and I think they're around the same price range of the dt770?
the memetechnica m50's also have a strong bass, although many people find it muddy
Sony nwz-wh303
Have these, took a bit of time, but love 'em now. It has a good amount of bass, but in a good way to my taste.
Last summer with 35° C temperatures, they were too hot, yes. That's the first time I had ear sweating...
On my second pair of these because how great they are, plus a detachable cable and are easy to drive.
not my pic but this is what I use. Sennheiser HD600 and a Schiit Magni 2 amp.
>really powerful bass
Yeah, the DT770 has "really powerful bass" and it doesn't hold a candle to basic Portapro's in terms of actually adding depth to the music unless you EQ the hell out of it. Listening to electronic music is like turning your subwoofer down until you can't even be sure it's on or not. That's for "sub-bass kings" of headphones.
I don't believe this audiophile drivel anymore, I need a graph showing it at this point, and it needs to have quite a big bump in the bass end. Not mid-bass, all of it.
The HD25's are a joke in the bass department. Come on now.
Stax SR-007mk1
they go harder than the portapro, it's right there in the graph lmao
Same. Soundstage is superb
...
For three times the price they add a few dB, wooh. I meant compared to the Beyerdynamics, which had weak bass.
I want MORE bass, not similar bass for three times the price. Besides, they look clampy as fuck. I'm only looking at over-ear headphones. I can't fault the DT770's for their comfort, it was very good.
Ultrasone pro 900 with fiio a3. Annoying to have the amp but sound better then anything Ive listened too. The bass is insane. Also have HD 558 which are good too.
SONY MDR-EX110LP In-Ear Headphones.
£15 (like $15-20)
Literally THE best in-ears. Better than SONY's own £400 ones.
Fucking kek
