ian anderson is the most British man in the universe

Brits are scum

Hidden gem , worth checking out if you love cockney rock

This is certainly up there for most British.

I dunno, I always kind of felt like that album drew quite a bit from '60s-'70s Americana-type sounds, like they were trying to be souped-up Gram Parsons with dashes of Dylan/Byrds.

youtube.com/watch?v=eiulgP9kR7c

hiphop before hiphop

...

...

>And just coz e's hada coupla cans e thinks is alrite to act like a dick'ead

This

...

their entire discography

...

>inb4 THIS MAKES ME PROUD TO BE BRITISH THIS MAKES ME PROUD TO BE BRITISH THIS MAKES ME PROUD TO BE BRITISH THIS MAKES ME PROUD TO BE BRITISH

...

FUCK

...

for sure

...

...

it must suck to be british

why?

...

Oh it does. What's so very British is that their whole cultural outlook embraces that life.

Anything that is praised by NME desu

...

all these albums are mediocre for the most part

my god OP, you finally nailed it. I heard that album in high school and was so weirded by it, couldn't pin it down. but that's it.......they're just so fucking british......like you guys can just keep that shit over in britain and make a new one for us over here..lol

...

I dunno if you can equate Britishness of an album with quality or even at times artistic merit. These are just albums that embody the UK.

He asked for british feeling albums. Not good albums by British artists

my god that album looks british as motherfucking balls

for better or for worse, this is an extremely british album

doesn't mean it's good

...

Their whole discography is a showcase of unchecked Britishness

Step up, Sup Forums.

Maybe it's me but I'd have chosen Definitely Maybe over morning glory.

These guys have just sold out two nights at a 36,000 cap venue over here, and have played UK arenas for just under 10 years.
Never heard a single mention of them on this board, but even with an Italian guitarist they play the "we're English" card plenty.

Yeah, I'm surprised they're not more internationally popular.

That album was shit

just the album? thought artist in general......lol

ITT: NMEcore

Didn't U2 or somebody rip off Club Foot?

well it is the most British of music magazines as it basically dictates taste for half of the youth

...

First 3 albums where alright

anyone?

...

They're radio prog rock essentially, Velociraptor is a brilliant album, as is West Ryder. Considering they're one of the biggest UK bands around, some of their songs are surprisingly abstract and cool, e.g.
youtube.com/watch?v=a838F0EV-8Q

Their debut and ...Lunatic Asylum are good, but goddamn is that album terrible.

I really like UK hardcore even though it's pretty terrible from a musical perspective
Scott Brown's Hardwired is pretty good though

...

...

I saw them in New York a few years ago. Not bad.

Representing myself and the people of Sheffield
>The football fans fight 'cause United's at home
>Its futile as bald men fighting for a comb
>Adam gives Keeley what Donna gave him
>Keeley shags Richard then gives it to Jim

>While some sore heads will rue last nights endeavors
>And make Sundays vow that they won't get so leathered
>Dads shout at lads so they foul number 7
>There's no need for fighting they're only 11

Almost unbearably British

youtube.com/watch?v=X8VH0sbEU20

try not to cry

I already posted it =]
never noticed how the covers are similar

Yeah, Scott Brown's stuff manages to transcend the negative connotations of the genre. UK Hardcore is a guilty pleasure of mine.

This one is 90's British rave culture

oi mate: The Musical

where? didn't see it.

but if you like the rakes i like you, so good work.

...

Lol perfect summery of that album

...

OK Computer.

Refute this?

I was just remarking on the album covers.
Never mind.

Big beat was pretty much a British thing

West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum or however it's called was good

...

What makes the album particularly British?
All of Radiohead's middle-later stuff seems kind of outside of that sort of classification.

...

...

...

almost posted this one =]

Fantastic

youtube.com/watch?v=ygGw_zo_W8A

>all these post
>songs aren't even about England.

americans will never understand this album

Anyone else listen to The Cribs? I never hear them mentioned, but pic related is 10/10 album. Johnny Marr joined on their next album.

youtube.com/watch?v=GzqZborBWtA

I think Scott's sampling isn't exceptionally clever, but it's well executed, and his music is a lot less brash and cheesy than most of the other artists. Fracus and Darwin is almost there at times as well
Some of the Darren Styles, and especially s3rl is just hypersaturated party music without making the effort to be real music.

Still fun though

What kind of music do football hooligans and chavs listen to?

Also, why do chavs look like slavs?

The Jam are my second favorite band, but they never had a perfect album. Setting Sons could have been if Weller kept the original concept. Their singles are what made them great.

First favorite is Oasis, haha

True, but Modern life is rubbish much more so

okay fool, years ago I posted this shit on Sup Forums and I swear to god I got the same exact response. I bet it was you fool.

>I personally think sound affects is perfect.

...

yes, i love the cribs. the johnny marr album was probably their worst (early shit was the best) but it was still really good

...

had never heard of these guys before you posted that. already picked up this album, it's amazing.

Didn't Zed Bias do a mix called Original Pirate Material? Hard to get more UK than UK garage

I never post on Sup Forums and have only been on Sup Forums for...a year and a half? But that period was their peak, yeah. Going Underground/Dreams of Children between the two albums in particular.

youtube.com/watch?v=CCwZeOvqsgE

This album more British t.b.h

ah fine fine. Love the Jam but the best mod revival album in my book is The Lambrettas - Beat Boys in the Jet Age.

youtube.com/watch?v=dnduzRWiCmc

...

I thought we'd see more prog here.

Yeah, s3rl doesn't really count in my mind. He's just selling a scene. It's so vapid.

yeah, I can see that

Canterbury Scene is underrepresented itt

Wow, haven't heard that one. Sounds great so far. Thanks

...

Relatively obscure, great, great album. Kinda sounds like Radiohead?

youtube.com/watch?v=dutG1mcfkpo

I feel good, yes wonderful, good

Another obscure classic:

youtube.com/watch?v=SE28yCN-Mbw

Anyone else ever heard this one?
Not as good as CLSM Presents Hardcore Revolution, but a bit of a breakbeat hardcore gem, and the skits in it are exceptionally British
