What do you think lads, can they turn it around or will it be another All For One? I think this is definitely a make or break for the new album.
Stone Roses releasing another single tonight

Fucking hope it's better than All For One, however it has slowly grown in me
It's 7 minutes long, so I'm thinking perhaps a Fools Gold / Something's Burning kind of feel to it?
bumpin, thread has potential
Does nobody on this board care about the Stone Roses?
bump
Fuck reunions. They will never sound like bunch of hippies in 1989 again.
Mate, I forgot about this thread and I made it.
I think everyone's not got that much confidence in them after AFO, but I think if they actually put the time and energy into it they can put out a good song.
Any idea where the fuck we can hear it, I'm guessing radio 1 like last time but it doesn't sound very promising
They put AGO on their youtube page within 30 minutes of it playing on the radio. I'll just wait for that.

Much,much better than AFO.
sounds pretty chill, definitely a real stone roses track
Meh. I kinda dig it. It's pretty clear that the new album will just be an attempt to re-create the debut. But so long as we get more tracks like this and less like AFO it might still turn out to be a decent album.
i like the lyric about John Lennon
Better than AFO by a long shot, but still pretty eh
5/10
Sounds like Fools Gold mixed with Breaking Into Heaven. Perfect balance between the debut and Second Coming. Still not as good as either though. 7/10
so you rate Second Coming > 7/10? Or were you referring to specific tracks off it?
I was just referring to the track. But I'd say:
Self Titled - 10/10
Second Coming - 8/10
All For One - 5/10
Beautiful Thing - 7/10
I AM FUCKING PUMPED!!!
is there a link for the DL of it?
bumping for the rose's sake
PLEASE BE A GOOD CHOON
the fucking potential the stone roses had was immense lads, their s/t is legendary but outside from a couple of songs they really dropped the ball. this new song is far better than the previous single, thankfully, actually kind of grooves a little bit. they'll never touch their classic material however. good vocal melody on this one, the drums are somewhat uninteresting but they groove quite well and keep a nice, danceable rhythm. the guitar flourishes later on in the song are well produced and sound lovely, unfortunately despite the good vocal melody the chorus is a bit lacking. better than the last song for sure.
