I dunno.
Best grime release of the year is probably Bandulu006.

Dialect.

Never got the appeal of grime desu senpai

because you're either white or not english

Oh I'm here in this shithole island alright

just another white boy then lol

yeah, fuck off back to your own country

>grime

born and bread m8

lol wow one shitpost and you were so triggered you became retarded rip.

Chip
Bonkaz
P Money
And despite what the hipsters will say, Stormzy

All of those are shit.
Especially Chip and Stormzy.

And grime is not about MCs.

>overdrive
nice music production reference

Modern grime is lad.

Fuck off.
MCs killed so many genres and grime is just another one they're ruining.

>Bonkaz
He's a fucking child predator I can't listen to the guy anymore.

There are pretty much 2 separate grime scenes now.

There's the instrumental side and the hip-hop subgenre side. And they hardly ever intertwine.

I like the music production behind grime, but I can't stand the black MCs most of the time. Then again my all-round favorite electronic music genre is (berlin) techno.

QUIT

true.
It should be obvious which one is more interesting and better.

I'll laugh with you

Except he's not
Listen to his NFTR

This isn't 2004

I wish it was 2002 again

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't true

MCing killed jungle.
MCing killed DnB.
MCing killed garage.
MCing was part of the reason why dubstep died the way it did.

>MCing killed DnB
You've clearly never seen SASASAS live.
I agree with the rest but I think DnB has some really strong MCs and it adds another dimension to the raves

Here's why MCs killed DnB:
What does an MC do?
Among other things, making the DJ rewind tunes.

What does this focus on reloads mean for the producers who want their tunes played a lot?
They try to make their tunes have a bigger and bigger impact, this is exactly what led to this EDMification of DnB.

I guess it depends on where you are in the kind of dnb spectrum, I've always been more of a Jump Up guy and it's always had that element of big impact drops so I guess I haven't noticed that too much.

I get it could be annoying in ragga or whatever

>every DnB track is Bo Selecta

Nobody is talking about tunes.
We're talking about the way rave culture and MCing influences the people making the tunes.

>I guess it depends on where you are in the kind of dnb spectrum
It's same thing everywhere.

>I've always been more of a Jump Up guy and it's always had that element of big impact drops so I guess I haven't noticed that too much.
Why do you think jump up exists at all?

>I get it could be annoying in ragga or whatever
Jungle's decline is separate, but again the MCs are to blame.

I agree sometimes an MC can kill the vibe at a rave if they doing too much, but I think they do have a place in DnB

youtube.com/watch?v=e2UCOSxBlGk

Of course they have a place.
But they should know their place, be made aware of what their kind did.

on tracks: rocks
on sets: rocks
on beats: rocks

Jump Up was around long before EDM was even a thing, mate

As dedicated term, sure.
As concept it has been around forever.

I wish Rocks's beats weren't so trappy but that's literally my only complaint I have of him.

He's so far fucking superior to everyone else and he's been about for like 2 years. It's genuinely embarrassing for the rest of the scene.

I just wish the MCs would rap over these kind of beats.

I just wish MCs would stop.

They won't though.

Grime MCs are different from pretty much every other dance genre nowadays in that they're very similar to rappers. Most of these guys ARE rappers.

Kano is a rapper. Ghetts is a rapper. Wiley is a rapper. Dizzee is a rapper. Rocks is a rapper. Skepta is a rapper. Stormzy is a rapper.

The genre's crossed over. A lot of bleep man like to treat it like it's purely a dance genre but it's not. It's become the UK's answer to hip-hop.

>uh yeah like the a girl got sexually harassed but the feds weren't that bothered like so they just framed me init
>uh yeah i'm still on the child predator list

>stylistic origins
>no rap/hip-hop

Because that would be wrong, dumb yank

It really wouldn't clueless memer.
Wiley himself describes grime as UK hip-hop in an early Hyperdub interview.
