Liturgy

is that really it? how depressing

speaking of drumming..

what is the time signature for mother of the world by swans? is 3/4 or something else

Ved Buens Ende

6/8

>2 dunmers

ooooooo
that is the shit i DO like

Misthyrming

oh shit yeah, Kylesa

woah wait a minute whats up with these vocals

The cramps

>black metal
>without blastbeats

what does that sound like? Kinda serious. I though blastbeats were like a staple of black metal?

i guess i mean just more dynamic drumming
some blastbeats okay but i dont wan to listen to a straight fucking hour of it

Maybe something like Behemoth's The Satanist? It's more of a "blackened death" sound or whatever, but I think the drumming stands up well.

i have listened to literally no death metal
ill check it out

they'll grow on you, but come on, the drumming is immaculate

Inquisition, Shining (Swe), Thy Darkened Shade, Ved Buens Ende, Virus, Thorns.

confirmed, The Satanist has good drumming (so does any Behemoth release ofc)

Glaciation - 1994

>implying most of them isn't your average blastbeat maybe except for Ved Buens Ende

just listen to blackgays if you don't want blastbeats, fucking hell

look at the thread topic you fucking dunce

Listen to this, OP

best BM track ever, no blastbeats.

the new Throane record is all mid tempo beats, no blasts

this is just sunbather

I don't get it

>muh blackgaze with breakdowns

it just sounds like more sunbather

Rec some breakdowns

What are their best albums?

sunbathers an album by deafheaven

But it's shit and sounds completely different to me sorry desu

Norwegian here.

Fuck all american black metal.

You are all doing it wrong.

what are your favorite bands then?

Lamb of God, friend

Norwegian music is SHIEEET

>Þú valdir þennan veg,
>Þér fannst hann vinur þinn.
>Þú klappar mér á kinn,
>Hnífunum stingur inn.
>Við ótta ég nú sef,
>Ég ekkert lengur gef.
>Ég taldi þig minn frið,
>En varðst að illum sið.

last MGLA had really good drumming

Burzum, Ulver, Mayhem, Darkthrone, Gorgoroth.

These 5 represents the 4 aspects of BM.

Burzum is atmospheric, Ulver fused traditional folk/neo-folk, Darkthrone and Mayhem has that lo-fi punk sound, while Gorgoroth is hi-fi and extremely brutal.

All the stuff I hear from America has major chords and guitar solos, it's such a bastardization. One could say that U.S BM is pop-punk, while norwegian BM is the original anarcho-punk of the 70's.

Even when you actually do listen to norwegian BM it's always the faggoty commercial bands like Satyricon and Dimmu Borgir, or french "blackgaze" bands.

Y'all need some Urfaust

>muh silly vocals
no thanks

hardly even black metal though

Funeral is better

I love this album.
Deathspell Omega uses drum computers though.
I mean, the drum parts are still pretty great, but it's not actual drumming.

Love me some Urfaust, but Jim is a fucking terrible drummer. He literally didn't even play the drums at the time they recorded their first album.

Guess I'll contribute then instead of just be a wise-ass.

Fluisteraars

>he dismissed it before even listening because it's untrve
quit being a cunt op

i actually agree with this

same drummer as in Kriegsmaschine and Massemord. He's probably the best in the game atm
