the verve does deserve more patrician credit but that song is whatever

youtube.com/watch?v=c3uluUzia_s

the dean blont parady of this

> music written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, garbage lyrics written by The Verve

it's a 6/10

fair enough, whats your pick then

my number one by far. huge melody, flawless.

yeah lets hear your pick. not that really care for your opinion on this matter if you don't rate the musical and even lyrical greatness of bittersweet symphony. but i'm sure it would be funny.

dean blunt did it better

You Get What You Give - New Radicals

>Same era
>better song
>No song theft
>Bucket hat

It's a pretty tenuous writing credit since it was a sample from the Andrew Loog Oldham Orchestra arrangement of a Stones song. The sampled string bit is nowhere in the original Stones recording, but they had the writing credit on the orchestra arrangement so they ended up on the Verve song. Long story short, Allen Klein is an asshole.

will any genre surpass vaporwave

>and even lyrical greatness of bittersweet symphony

its literally edgy high school shit, even some illiterate like Nas can come up with better lyrics

link

tbf this is a pretty fantastic song

bittersweet symphony is all about that melody and perfect instruments, tones, drums etc. plus the voice, lyrics and delivery. it just works. its a song everybody likes.

It's this.

>not posting the actual best song from that era

youtube.com/watch?v=4aeETEoNfOg

>music written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards
>The Verve sued over a very small disputed section of a small sample of a song radically different from the Stones version, which itself was just recycled blues licks like all other rock of the day.
I normally hate ripoffs under the guise of sampling but the suit was bullshit.

[spoiler]no but here's my serious answer, it's on par with bittersweet symphony for me.

Sister Ray

good pick user

but i'd probably go with Venus in Furs or Here Comes the Man or Heroin

youtube.com/watch?v=ZWmrfgj0MZI

jagger/richards as in a string line by a cover of a stones song done by the andrew loog oldham orchestra

whatever that might be, cos the dude was basically a shandy boy pr manager type guy

anyway, get fukt, this is how music is made

The greatest song of all time is obviously Jupiter from The Planets.

no the best song ever is drops of jupiter lol

Always thought this was by oasis lol

How come The Verve is only recognized as a one hit wonder? All of their albums are pretty great, especially that EP
