UK garage

Hard rock that isn't douchebags writing 3 power chord riffs per song and then doing false-chords as vocals about being tough or wanting to kill themselves.

space age pop

yeah I have to go back to 2014

youtube.com/watch?v=BfB8Ij2ofqI

That already happened in the mid to late 2000s

I would revive this and Exotica

1950's rock and roll

grunge

New Jack Swing

meant for

1997 was the peak of it

youtube.com/watch?v=DlEI9g3cEmk
youtube.com/watch?v=bxVOkObcnuo

Electro hip-hop

Rock

whatever sugar ray is

fucking this! Hard rock needs to go back to its roots in the 70's.

90's alternative, like that weird era of stuff that wasn't quite grunge but was too weird to be mainstream

Jungle or breakbeat

Funk metal

A No Wave revival scene would be fucking great

this

An actual folk revival, freak-folk was retarded and folk-pop is disgusting.

This

I doubt it would work actually

There was a brief No Wave revival in the early 00s but it was dogshit. It wouldn't work at all, just like an industrial revival, it'd be completely derivative.

Check out Pagan Rites by Ixtahuele if you can find it

It's relatively new, 2013 I think. They have some amazing tracks

Classical

This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about user. Thank you so much.

Dubstep

Jazz fusion that isn't that dickhead Kamasi Washington or BADBADNOTGOOD (I like them)

Also given the chance I'd resurrect Paul Bearer

There were several bands in the 90s that brought space age pop and exotica back, including Stereolab and Tipsy.

Also check out hypnagogic pop; a large chunk of it is lo-fi exotica. See Mohave Triangles and like 10% of James Ferraro's releases.

>started in 2010
>died like a year ago
Nigga what

I desperately demand a doo wop revival.

I guess shes in a band?
instagram.com/seaweedgirls/

which ironically has a polar opposite colour palate from burzum

I don't know why but I just could never get into Stereolab, I'll check out Tipsy & Mohave Triangles though. Thanks user!

I think it's so unfair that no one followed Zappa's lead with the doo-wop satire, you can do so much with it. Meghan Trainor attempted to revive doo-wop but we all know how that one turned out.

> tfw 2014 was 30 years ago
damn…

It's just not the same without that fear of a nuclear war!

>implying there isnt shitloads of good surf rock

Modern that is

To be clear, Mohave Triangles' discog is mostly drone/ambient.

Listen to Haze for Daze, it's definitely hypnagogic exotica and also his best.

>I never heard of Man or Astroman or Laika and the Cosmonauts (RIP, missed their final show)

Nu Metal

I've looked into some of Mohave Triangle's stuff, haven't heard a thing yet but I feel like there might be some Sun Araw vibes in it, which I'm very much looking forward to.
Drone/ambient inspired by exotica actually sounds right up my alley and all this talk of hypnagogic stuff makes me want to discuss Ariel Pink.

Dont forget beach fossils and surfer blood

nu metal but unironically

I suppose some of S. Araw's more drone stuff could share circles with MT, and Beach Head is one of the closest things to Haze for Daze.

I'd also recommend KWJAZ, which incorporates a lot of chilled out smooth jazz mixed in with fuzzy exotica; it's probably the pinnacle of my kind of hypnagogic pop.

Industrial, and not the retarded Industrial dance and aggrotech we have today, but actual Industrial like Monte Cazzaza, TG, SPK, Factrix Esplendor Geometrico, Vivenza, and early Genocide Organ.

Plus the whole San Diego revival (Thee Oh Sees, Wavves).

3rd wave ska

In this vein, I'd like a power electronics revival; the noise scenes are absorbing both and deteriorating them.

For fucks sake no
I wouldn't mind a two-tone or a dub revival but if you're talking ska punk? Hell no.

I'm talking both. I love ska

Is there even any modern Industrial from this decade aside from early Death Grips? Also, PE after the 80s is closer to noise music anyway, not sure how noise could fuck it up when it's been noise. I wish Whitehouse would come back though.

I just listen to Todd Terje and it scratches that same musical itch.
youtube.com/watch?v=WB4SyLujxis

I really hope this happens. If only their were a period in time where hip hop could have both a fun experimental nature and actual good rapping :(
I feel like it'll happen soon.

damn..................................

>satire
you just don't get it, do you

Nu metal for sure

What I don't get is what you're trying to tell me.

it's for real. doo-wop is great and good.

>falling for the 'satire' jew

>baroque prog

Banging rocks with other rocks and grunting. Music hasn't been the same since we invented instruments.

>Implying rocks and voices aren't instruments

Electro-Swing, just to piss people off

early 2000's pop punk/emo

Go fuck yourself, that shit's better off gone from poisoning our youth.

Agreed, good riddance to popular self harm and tattoo/peircing

Hope coal burning fades from the mainstream next

Power Pop

funk

It'd be ok with the tattoos and piercings if they were decent, but goddamn was that a terrible time to be a teenager.

>tfw you will never get another chance to be a teenager

Japanese hardcore punk

Funk isn't dead, fool

post 2016 funk releases

Not him but you got any good recs? Just recently got into Funk.

...

Try leaving Sup Forums and theneedledrop occasionally, theres loads

>"nuhstuhlguh" "vintudge" crap
try again

retard

>another cover relying on crappy nostalgia value

explain again how "funk ain't dead"?

Space rock, like the early Pink Floyd albums

Vulfpeck

It's alright user, teenage years usually suck anyway.

whatever Atari Teenage Riot plays

Saying words like a mong does not make your point correct.

You have not listened to that album.

Do not be superficial.

zombi comes to mind
oresund space collective too
and I think saturnia is still around

This is a sign that we should revive dub music

Yep this guy has it right. No good Grunge these days.

There was no good grunge ever.

Are slamming on Grunge...? Well that's fine everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Yacht rock

Nazerock

Everything 50s

'70s Disco. Not trying to be "le born in the wrong generation" meme, but I'd actually go to discotheques if they played Disco music instead of that repetitive electronic shit with no originality whatsoever. Let the hate flow.

Fuck disco.

Please bring back soul.

Bring back psychedelic soul.

Seconded

Deep Internet

i want prog to become mainstream again like it did in the 70s and 90s with tool
