Love you
Have been meaning to get around to this for some time now. Think I'll do so in a bit since I'm finally home
>Experimental, Various Genres
We start off my new label, Jacob And Friends, with the release of Eric Taxxon's Sky Simplified.
Will be accepting submissions for the label.
>New Release
>Eric Taxxon
>Sky Simplified
>Santa Cruz, Ambient, Ambient Pop, Drone, Vaporwave.
Description:
We often view the sky as something of an art piece in itself. Something reflective, as we wonder and gaze into its openness, while evolving with its ever changing shapes and colors. Eric Taxxon attempts to embody such in his new album, Sky Simplified. With droning synths and ambient melodies, Eric tackles how he holds viewership of the sky with his gentle and yet intricate production.
Now available for stream and download!
Support, scrobble, or review on RYM. Any feedback of any kind would be greatly appreciated. And give Eric some love. Thank You. :)
Also for anyone living in Houston, I will be performing at a showcase at Fitzgerald's on July 1st. If you have an interest in going, contact me for tickets.

p decent, jared. 'dig it' is the best in my opinion. maybe tone it down with the vocal effects.
this is very spacey. the ambience is beautiful. reminds me of a denser kind of HOME. can't wait for the full record. gonna check out your discog
well produced and catchy. I like how the songs build. you don't just spoon speed us your sounds and samples, you let them grow and when the moment is right they pop. p cool shit

This is me ... came back after listening to you all to give some critiques /and feedback.
Lyrics are your strongpoint (and they are excellent, striking those sad 90's feelings). Your small vocal affectation/method of singing I think is not extremely to my taste. However, for just being as bare as they are instrumentally... i think your songwriting is really good considering it wears a lot of influence on its sleeves. Id love to hear your songs backed by a full band.
Your mixing is pretty dang good friend. Instrumentals are spacey and hypnotic, i really enjoyed your guitar work specifically. I wasnt expecting such nice ambient post rock from your bandcamp's. general color palette.
Immediately I liked you because you have such an excellent visual aesthetic. Definitely my favorite artwork going on from these bandcamp threads. Your songs could easily fit on a video game sound track, perhaps for an obscure Japanese fighting game on the sega genesis console. I can see you are influenced by vaporwave, however it does have a uniquely upbeat tone . Simplicity is great, however I think some songs meander a bit too long without enough change (ChronDroid's Boomin'). Overall Im bookmarking because i want to check out the rest of your work. Excellent work (Venetian Discothèque, has a track opener that is incredible)
Nice production, and (as with ChronDroid) i like the video gamey /vapor atmosphere in your songs. Youre hitting your overall sound right on the mark, theres enough progression and use of filter/effect to keep your basslines driving and your chords dreamy. I don't really have any critique or suggestions as to what i think you should improve upon, just keep it up.

Thanks for listening
Thank you very much. On meandering I'm just too afraid that people will think they are too short of tracks so sometimes they do go on longer than they should. I'll take everything into consideration however. Thanks again.

piano stuff. just made it. now i have to finish all those rough drafts of pieces.
has anybody seen pleasance house lately? he used to post frequently but has stopped quite a bit since the summer started
yeaaaah
I still haven't had the chance to praise his new album to him
cause I only listened to it for the first time recently and it's gorgeous
beautiful stuff, I'd love to hear a longer release from you - have you thought of releasing an album or EP?
this
especially the track "I Will". Heartbreaking and haunting
yea at some point. i try to make the framework for at least one piece a day. but i have to sift through it all and find something to finish.

Love this line. The singing is a bit obnoxious but the lyrics are good enough to were the music is still interesting a lot of the time and it's cool when you just stop everything to play something soloish on the guitar. Wish you'd post lyrics for all the songs.
This is pretty. I have thought that lo-fi classical piano would be a nice aesthetic and this pretty much proves that. Maybe some kind of melody at some point would have been nice.
This is nice. Not much to say about it since it's barely anything.
it's here, time to listen to a batch of artists from here
perhaps a bit too minimal and basic for me. didn't really grab my attention but i sat through one of the songs and it was okay but very uninteresting. im guessing your play to full listen ratio is pretty bad.
smiles was kinda cool, got some interesting stuff going on there. wouldn't consider it noise or ambient tho, just really plain electronic music but a bit harsher. yeah basically industrial
the guitar was nice, and your singing is meh at best. honestly the lyrics were pretty bad but maybe that was the intention. unenjoyable imo.
pretty standard soft electronic stuff, piano was kinda nice but thats about it
i always felt bad about how much you get ignored in these threads so i gave 1979 a try. pleasantly surprised, i liked the vocal delivery and the guitar sounds great. the laugh was really cheesy though. i might check a bit more later if i can find some time

Great stuff. I like the shoegazey-sounding parts like In The Cabin By The Ocean and noisy melodies
Very calming, gonna download :)
Listened to sleepy river, really liked the ambience. Maybe try mixing the clicks/beats further back?
Nice atmosphere, but honestly I prefer your loud and chaotic stuff.
Catches the videogame-aesthetic really well. Digging the Tron cover as well. Maybe turn sidechain at kicks back a little though? Like 20% more dry or something like that.
Underrated. Smiles is amazing, great industrial electronic jam with lots of energy. Also like the variety throughout your tracks.
Reminds me of Psychocandy a little and I love that. Digging it, but I agree you should tone down with the vocal effects a bit.

Great sound. Reminds me of Tortoise somehow.
This is really nice and relaxing.
I don't know. If you're going to be this minimal/experimental, try something no one has done before. Surprise us. It's not bad, it's just not original or engaging enough for me.
Okay so I haven't finished the album yet but I've noticed a trend in these songs where you'll have a nice foundation for a song yet when you start to sing (good voice btw), both the vocal melody and Song structure take off but don't go anywhere. They just meander around. Was this a stylistic choice to leave out any form of verse/chorus structure to the mix? If so, it makes me wonder if Fletcher Iles 1 was more so in that style.
Generally i dont write chorus' not that i never have i just prefer my songs to play out until the end rather than have a hook. this might be due to the fact i have a lot of interest in conceptual pieces which is ultimately what i want to create. Thanks for the listen and im not the most confident in my voice so it means alot you say that.
I figured as much, and no problem. When the album started with auto-tune, I was almost worried I wouldn't hear your regular voice at all but I was pleasantly surprised when it showed up.
Overall the style isn't for me but if it's what you truly want to put out for the world, then I wish you the best. What's next for the Ile man?
Just generally try and create a catalog of music for people to enjoy im still trying to find my bearings in the industry and try to learn as much as i can, im studying music at university you see.
also if you personally have any music you want an opinion or feedback on id be more than happy to listen to it?
That sounds cool, has university helped you at all in getting your music out there? I know sometimes there will be campus radios and shows available to play occasionally but have those ever been options?
Haha I'm You're more than welcome to just listen to it though. In times past I'd put a huge emphasis on bandcampers leaving feedback but ultimately, the actual appreciation seen is more of a private thing (you know, in the form of plays and downloads). But I do appreciate you asking, thank you.

First off, you actually have good nice art, i feel like i should say that every time anyway. I dig the combo of metalish tone and the garagey sounds.
