I was at a Mark Kozelek show a few years back, and I was friends with the promoter of the show, so we were just talking about whatever. Suddenly Mark shows up and joins in, but I knew better than to try to talk to him so that was that.
I met Chris Murphy from Sloan once at a show he was doing in Toronto. He got a band together and was covering Minor Threat's "Out of Step" from front to back. My good pal's band was opening for them, so I tagged along and chilled while everyone was setting up. Super nice guy. He didn't even assume I knew who Sloan are. We just chit chatted for a while, but as soon as he mentioned Sloan I couldn't help myself haha.
One year at this kind of shitty local festival they had Nikola Sarcevic from Millencolin playing a solo set. I was super stoked because Millencolin were one of my favourite bands growing up. I don't know if nobody knew or nobody cared, but there was around ten people at the set. I felt bad for him, but we talked for a while after the show which was very nice.
I've met John K. Samson from The Weakerthans a few times. Super nice guy. Not much else to report aside from that.
I just realized this is supposed to be a pics with celebs thing so I feel like a bit of a retard. Oh well. I typed too much to throw this away so...yeah...

Last weekend at the festival they do in Athens, GA every year Athfest I got to meet one of my favorite musicians and the guy from my absolute favorite band Kevin Barnes from Of Montreal. He was a really cool guy. A lot more reserved than on stage. We talked a little about his new album coming out and the fact that my favorite album of theirs is Cherry Peel, which blew his mind. 10/10 experience.
Oh and as for the sling I tore a shoulder muscle playing tennis

I had two encounters with Alex Turner, one in a shithole called Birdwell and one in Sheff City Centre.
The Sheffield meeting was a drunk early morning deal and I ripped his polo shirt cause he was mouthing off about getting thrown out of a club.
The Birdwell meeting was after an Arctic's show when he kicked my mate in the back of the legs for trying to stage dive, even though he'd literally asked people to do it at the beginning of the song and ignored all the others doing it.

These were the Turner situations, the Helders one was after that same Birdwell show when I tried to talk to him at the bar after and applaud him for the gig, just for him to tell me to "fuck off and leave him alone".

I saw Lauren Mayberrry at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told her how cool it was to meet her in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother her and ask her for photos or anything.
She said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but she kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing her hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard her chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw her trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in her hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Ma'am, you need to pay for those first.” At first she kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, she stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, she kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
