It's one of the worst albums I've ever heard.

I know a lot about music.

I doubt that.

What's your AOTYSF?
What was your AOTY 2015?

Andy Stott - Too Many Voices
Clarence Clarity - No Now

>dj andy scott: the list could go on...
>annoying fantano-core hi-fi pop album
Jesus, it's worse than I though

*tips fedora*

I think it's funny that Sup Forums was shitting on it and saying it was gonna suck after the first few singles, and now it's mostly loved.

>now it's mostly loved.
Lmao

It's what it seems like, besides a vocal minority

RYM is going absolutely gaga over it

Sup Forums was in love with it the night it leaked

but now it looks like shitposting for a while. probably until a month after the p4k review comes out.

are you on fucking meth?

a) this is one of their worst songs
b) on one of their worst albums
c) and they suck as a band in general

What the fuck happened to Sup Forums?

There used to be actual discussion about music along with a few memes. Now it's just nothing but shitty memes about awful music and said shitty memers hyping up different awful music. It's way more of a retarded circlejerk now.

That aside, I thought Wildflower was great. Not AOTY, but The Noisy Eater is TOTY so far IMO.

I never write this but lmao *tips fedora*

>a) this is one of their worst songs
>b) on one of their worst albums

>one of their worst songs

Nigger what

That's a picture of their album

>the noisy eater

When was this?

I've been here on and off since 2009.

there is only good discussion of popular music here literally for a couple hours after is leaks/is released and that's it

not even top 5

>b) on one of their worst albums
The Avalanches have only two albums m8 do you even know what we're talking about?

nice andy stott
New AnCo, Deakin, Bowie, Radiohead and James Blake are eons better than this shit album.

lol, wow.

ok this album singlehandedly rekindled my love for music. it's been so fucking long that i've been this infatuated with an album.. the last time this happened was probably with in rainbows and i thought i'd never feel that adolescence-like fascination to an album ever again. i just accepted that i was getting old and believed connecting to an album to that extent was no longer possible for me; like growing out of video games. i'm just so happy i got to feel that feeling again with this album. i'm looking forward to absolutely overplaying this till i know it inside out.
this release for me, superior than its predecessor and is easily one of the best release of the 2010s. i'm kinda shocked that the rest of Sup Forums fail to share my sentiment but fuck you all anyway :)

nah dude its just Sup Forums they like shitting on anything good
this is def AOTY material, fucking amazing album

what a fucking boring person you must be

i'll take the bait. what makes the album so boring for you?? i'm honestly just curious

none of the tracks do anything interesting, there's no grooves and its all just an hour of high/low pass filter wank

also danny was probably the absolute worst person they could have featured on the album and the noisy eater is probably the worst song by a major artist I've ever heard in my life

Is this a new meme?

can you link me a song that you currently find interesting?
+ how can you say that there's no grooves to the album... i can't help tapping my foot to even the slow/quietest tracks on this thing.

>can you link me a song so I can pick out everything that I think is wrong with it and then call you a pleb to try and discredit your posts

no thanks I don't really like that game

>none of the tracks do anything interesting, there's no grooves
disagree real bad

Tim Hecker is my AOTY

>no grooves

lmao

rather listen to good music youtube.com/watch?v=QIi4cAK1vik

I know this is a big ol' meme but I thought I'd post my thoughts here.

I'm not totally feeling it. There are some great tracks (Wozard of Iz, Frankie) but most of the songs here I wouldn't put above "good", and some just feel bland to me. It's not very consistent imo, and everything feels like it's at the same volume, in the same place, using the same sounds, which is a shame, because SILY is one of my all-time favourites. It just isn't as satisfying. Also, I feel that on SILY there were fantastic hooks, and I feel that they managed to make them absent while also making the sound poppier, and not in a good way. It's like they only wrote 3 or 4 songs and then tried to surround them in mush, hoping it would work, and for me, it doesn't. I've only given it two listens though, so I'll keep listening and see if my mind is changed.

Hahahaha gr8 meme potential on this one

frankie sinatra is one of the worst songs of all time

Can't wait to listen to it and find out that it's neither great nor terrible, just mediocre. Or it'll surprise me, that'd be more fun.

SOTY

It's not really but it's still real cringe.

My nigger the new anco is a 6/10 at best get your head out of your ass.

has a legit flac leaked?

Obviously you haven't listened to much music in your life.

mega.nz/#!nxJmmQbC!BtuhQY94Il3TcYMUavis2wuxbiQR_VtVgHJbbSSK9W0

yes

that's beautiful user. even if ur taste is complete shit im happy for you

k

Yeah the best song

the livin underwater > wozard transition is the highlight for me. wish there was a live at dominoes style banger near the end though, it just tapers off.

that andy stott is ok, but no now was one of the worst 2015's albuns, on pair with the one from james ferraro.

also, you're a try-hard.

cmon guys, it's pasta

>Clarence Clarity -
Absolutely fucking disgusting

The album would go up a whole point for me if Frankie Sinatra didn't exist. Such a mood killer being between two of the best tracks

Are you saying that because I don;t like rusted swing sets playing in my music that I don;t even deserve to listen to music? How fucking useless are you? Do you just sit around and listen to music all day, judging people who respectfully say they don;t like one song you offered them? I bet you think of yourself as an artist, listening to all of your rusty swings and random moaning in your """Music""". And using the argument "Everyone else on this board listens to it, so you should to" and calling it "Normal" doesn't do anything for your """argument""". How fucking idiotic do you have to be to try to defend rusty hinge sounds as "music"? Are you that delusional? Fucking drink bleach, I can't believe that you are being serious. This is almost as bad as the Sup Forums hive mind.

Lol Wildflower is going to be top of my disappointment list this year

I hate you faggots.
Claim you know about music?
How about fucking go outside, support the local shows and meet real fucking people. Find what drives people to write and play what they do.

>this clarence hate

You guys wouldn't know good pop music if it hit you in the face.

Chill out.

Wildflower is an album made for simpletons tbqh

it has emotional depth
you just have to feel it

not much intellectual about it, doesnt mean its simpleton, simpleton.

youtube.com/watch?v=FpA-j9wtlKY

AAAAH FRANKIE SINATRA

Fuck off

lol you actually sound mad, about an album
its hilarious

Frankie isn't that bad IMO. I think subways is the worst track.

God i fucking love this album

>there's no grooves a

you need a refund for yr ears

Dont do that to this album. Its a great album and I dont want the fans of it to look like massive cocks.
Just listen and feel good, or don't... Seriously.

U're a massive cock, meh-guy.

agreed, but hey it's Sup Forums, it's full of children

Can someone confirm this is legit flac? On my phone right now with no access to spek

pleb

Xd great response my guy

separate meme from music, my guy. Not that hard.

I want to see your musicology degree, faggot.

someone gets it

...

Is this top disappointment list in pic related?

Nah it's 12 albums that easily surpass wildflower

for me and other anons looks like disappointment list

>For you and the other delusioned anons who think wildflower is good.
Well makes sense why you think they're bad

never seen Sup Forums so conflicted about an album tbhh.

This album gives me the save feelings as SILY, it's the same feeling I got listening to discovery by daft punk. All the songs are so happy and lush. I can't stop listening to this album and I love it. Shame for the people who can't enjoy themselves whilst listening to it

We're the freshman class of Sup Forums, and we think the Avalanches suck. Get out, old man.

I did not mentioned Wildflower but the list in that pic related baka

>if a good band puts out a shit album nobody's allowed to dislike it

Fuck your opinions, pig. Admit this album is shit already.

>Fuck your opinions, pig. Admit this album is shit already.
this, it's meh honestly

Explain how those albums are bad or disappointing.

Can you explain why Wildflower is bad besides "meh" reviewers opinions copy pasted and discarding the nostalgia effect?

AAAAHHH FRANKIE SINATRA

This tbqh

AHHH FRANKIE SINATRA

This. 'No Now' is easily a strong AOTY contender. It's mind blowing and one of the most densely layered and creative releases I've heard in recent memory. I don't even know or care what Fantano said about it, not everybody follows that shit.

1) The features generally didn't work
2) Momentum dropped off hard in the last 3rd of the album
3) Too much high/low pass filter
4) Most of the tracks are quite homogenous in terms of vibe, energy, mood, and progression (or lack thereof) and there's little underlying intensity or tension at all.
5) honestly don't feel that the samples were manipulated enough and there were too little of them
6) my snarky comment would be that it sounds like a chillwave album that would have come out a decade or so ago

so why are the albums on that anons chart bad?

haven't listened to it. never heard anything from them but planning on checking the older songs out before i look into this

It's really not that interesting. Tired use of samples over ground that's already been covered years ago. Nothing really new to see here.

Some of the features are confusing. Avalanches' choice for Danny Brown were motivated by him sounding "almost punk" so says wikipedia. Huh, seriously?

The albums are bad because they are too homogeneous and on repetitive side of what we have already heard in the past from classic albums.

And about Wildflower I see it as good CD 2 of the first Ava album, a good companion to it, very "summer" a like and with good flow.
Oh and low pass has been used 5 times across the album compared to 1st album where was 17 times.

i hate this meme

>there's little underlying intensity or tension at all.

This. Not a single spook.

Which albums are overly repetive and homogenous? I can maybe see the complaint for TGM and maybe the Stott album, but not from the others.

That's an interesting note about the filters though. Feels more inundated with it than SILY did. To me it just all blurs together - I get the summer vibe but not because it's bright and energetic but because it feels like a total slog.

AHHHHH FRANKIE SINATRAA

DISAPPOINTMENT

OF
