Now that the dust has settled, did this live up to the expectations?

now that the dust has settled, did this live up to the expectations?

currently it's one of my most listened to albums

shoegaze fans will say yes
non-shoegaze fans will say no

the dust settled a long time ago
it's an extremely cohesive album and most people would agree

at this point I feel that the rest of mbv's discog is overlooked in comparrison to mbv and loveless

I first listened to this album towards the end of last year when pretty much no one was talking about it, and I thought it was fucking brilliant.

MBV > Loveless

By the slightest of margins

i've been saving it all this time

i'll listen to it now

No you didn't. You're just a pleb that hasn't listened to it yet because, well, you're a pleb. You probably were into other things and claimed to have little time to listen ti music due to other commitments. Well you should try to commit suicide. Pleb.

I think that MBV is just as good as Loveless, although not as easily accessible. The album really grows on you.

No, it's way too repetitive in a bad way, without any of the moody dreamy atmosphere from Loveless

was never gonna live up to the impossible bar they set for themselves

however i was disappointed and thought it sounded rushed and like a bunch of throwaways from Loveless

>Well you should try to commit suicide.

fuckin jej

I give it an 8.982/10. Great album.

Gr8 album r8 8/9

i expected it not to live up to the expectations. so it more than lived up to my expectations

Obviously not as good as Loveless but pretty damn close in my book

It's pretty fucking terrible.

If it wasn't made by Kevin Shields, people would give it an honest rating.

are you on fucking meth?

a) this is one of their worst songs
b) on one of their worst albums
c) and they suck as a band in general

I wasn't talking about a particular song... I'm talking about the album as a whole and the way it compares to its predecessor

I'd probably give it a higher rating with no loveless bias

I feel like he replied to the wrong person. The post made no sense in context.

Interesting perspective.

I'm not an avid shoegazer, but I thought MBV sounded fantastic. I was quite impressed when I listened to it.

Guys, It's copy-paste from another thread
