Explain this
he's bald
>most famous song is now a teen angst anthem
>actual fans only care about two albums released over 20 years ago
>long, long, long past his heyday
>no one listens to his new work
>taking a decade to create a triple album no one will listen to anyway
>only smashing pumpkin in the smashing pumpkins yet keeps the name
>performs terrible avant garde piano work in public
>way out of critical favor
>fat
>ugly
take your pick
sorry pedro, you can't stay here
tru
MFW no one was talking about him until he insulted their savior Bernie. get a job kids
>actual fans only care about two albums released over 20 years ago
This is so true. I have yet to meet a smashing pumpkins fan that isn't really just a Siamese Dream and Melancholy fan. I know that's all I'm referring to when I say I like them.
Siamese is fucking brilliant though.
I'm a synth autist so I actually tried staying through his awful modular 'performance' at his coffee shop. He's just gone off the reservation, I can't imagine how bad he'll be in another twenty years.
>49 years of age and the only thing he does now is get annoyed by 'sjws'
pathetic bald fuck he made shit music
I think I prefer Mellon Collie overall even though it has a lot more filler. Even something like Lily My One and Only is brilliant.
Gish, Adore, and Oceania all have some gems scattered across them and Aeroplane and Machina II are good as well.
The guitar player from Coldplay
>can play Shoegaze really well
>obviously influenced by some great acts
>stuck on Chris Martins wild train into the world of shit
He should team up with ed o brain
seriously montie why do you keep bringing up that one awful shoegaze song from coldplay up please fucking stop its so annoying
billy corgan is an alex jones loving faggot with millions of dollars whats to feel sorry for?
Poor guy. Probably has to wipe his tears with hundreds.
DALE
when he was alive at least
The true GOAT, feels bad that he didn't get to off himself on stage
On a serious note.
who is she
Bob Dylan
Jim Morrison
If only I could have been his friend
Nick Cave
If he'd stop antagonizing his more casual fans for liking his earlier stuff so much, he'd be in a much better place. Weird politics aside, I don't think he's actually that bad of a guy. Just not the kind of person who deals with fame (and the loss of fame) very well.
Fuck I read his biography one time and it made me feel sad. He lived a lonely and depressing life. I can really relate to him.
It's actually not awful and it is on par with any Slowdive song. It also shows the potential for progression as a band that is held back by a idiot.
one of the things about mellon collie is that everyone has a different favourite track. like the ones i dont rate too much are some that people rate the most. really varied album
>a idiot
an*
Coldplay were always awful and Slowdive are even worse because they're taken serious in music circles for some reason
For real? There was a 300 post thread on Sup Forums that night talking about how terrible it was.
Yeah, and the tracks I liked the most years ago aren't the tracks I like the most today.
...
Perhaps but
>actual fans only care about two albums released over 20 years ago
This one's bullshit. "Actual" fans are crazy about Gish, Adore, and MACHINA. Some like M2, ZG, and some later stuff too. The only fans I've met who only care about SD and MC were the total casuals who could only even name the singles from MC anyway. If you go to a Pumpkins show you'll hear tons of fans losing it over non Siamese Dream/Mellon Collie songs anyway.
Billy Corgan's done great for himself. Yeah he comes off as strange but if he's onto yet another too-ambitious-for-its-own-good project that he thinks few fans will even listen to, he only has himself to blame.
Yea there were a couple huge threads
...
Damn. Right in the feels...
...
who dis?
He had plenty of opportunities, he kept changing the date, avoiding it fucking pussy
...
syd barrett from pink floyd
thank you user
you seem like a cool dude have a nice day
...
>Your first band releases one album then dissolves
>reforms into a copy of your second band
>second band becomes factionalized with you stuck in the middle
>you have to play second fiddle to Big Suit Man
>first band reforms again without you
>all of your solo albums end up flying under the radar
>second band refuses to reunite
I dont feel sorry for fantano
what shoegaze song is it lol. I dont listen to coldplay
I'm surprised no one mentioned Sasha Grey.
I liked Adore and Gish a lot, Corgan has still been off the rails for years and needs to come down off his cloud.
...
What about pavement?
That he was mentioned in a song
how in the fuck am I the first one to post this?
Punished Corgan: A cool kid that never had the time
Holy shit. Why?
He's probably still a virgin too
who?
Bitch Corgan himself said he played the first song off Zeitgeist and he could tell no one had listened to it.
>Billy Corgan's done great for himself.
The problem is with all that he's still miserable, and that's why he's pitiable.
...
Wow, one song. How could he tell anyway?
...
their first few albums were solid
smoking that dank shit err day
Elliott Smith
>People didn't listen to it. I could tell that people weren't listening to the album. In the past if you put out an album, people at least knew the first song. We would go out and play "Doomsday Clock" and I could tell that they hadn't even listened to it.
This
Is there any indication Corgan has been happy in the last fifteen years?
lmao he looks like a Pitbull impersonator
ping ping ping ping?
to be honest senpai, all you disgusting pigs keep bothering her
seriously though
This, dude could have been amazing
Alex Chilton
>moat famous song is now a teen angst anthem
Wasn't 1979 always a teen angst anthem?
Fair, but it's still one song.
Is there any indication that he's miserable? He doesn't scream how happy he is all the time but who does? At worst I see that he probably wishes he was still a chart topper, perhaps a tad jaded, but he's been that way since ever. What I don't see is any indication that he's deep down an unhappy person.
lets give some pussy to daniel
who wants to volunteer?
I just wanna give the poor dude a hug
I feel bad for how they treated alienboy, Tom Delonge. Mark basically froze him out.
That's not the one; they're most known for a song people think the title of is "Rat in a Cage," which in hindsight sounds on par with some of that nu metal shit from the early 2000s.
Drizzy
Lol I remember I was at Disneyland the day he was there. Tried to find him to no avail.
>puts together band
>makes amazing album that sells practically zero copies
>every review ignores you in favor of your songwriting partner because he was famous once
>leaves his band because he can't take it anymore
>closeted homosexual in Memphis in the 70s
>tries to balance his homosexuality with his religious faith
>becomes serious drug addict
>records solo album no record company is interested
>crashes his car and dies
>band becomes hugely acclaimed after his death
Going off of youtube views, spotify plays, and chart positions, 1979 is still their most popular song by far. Regardless, most of their well-known songs are actually teen angst anthems, but they're good teen angst anthems.
i thought that was mitzutani haha
Yes if this doc on the wiki is correct.
>Billy Corgan has struggled with depression for much of his life and has endured bouts of self-injury, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and suicidal thoughts. Corgan attributes these problems to the abuse he endured as a child as well as personal anxieties and issues.
And his work reflects every bit of that. X.Y.U. is not something that could have been made by a mentally stable person.
how can you hate this guy?? I don't get it.
Every time I see his interviews he has really interesting ideas on things and he is so clearly down to earth but just fed up with the bad rap he gets. People use him for clickbait. think about it.
Still not something he wants to be associated with anymore. The best way to troll him remains yelling at him to play rat in a cage.
why not throw D'arcy in while we're here
THIS.
...
Touche. He's seemed like he's in a good place to me in recent years anyway. He doesn't seem to be outwardly miserable. Either way. He's still done amazingly well for himself despite apparently no one believing him, not exactly the type of person I feel bad for.
He's a fucking asshole. He makes overindulgent music, was an asshole to that singer from Deer Hunter, to Pavement and probably more too
why does he hate Pavement so much?
and what all has he said about them?
Any of you guys seen the interview with Billy and Nick Cave?
Billy just goes out of his way to antagonize everyone. He got into a massive feud back in the 90s with Collective Soul, too.
I mean it's not really applicable anymore, but I used to give him a hug any time I saw him.
Forgot pic
this so much
