Fugazi

Cap'n Jazz

nickelback

does early Modest Mouse count as post-hardcore

no they are indie rock

I'd say a few songs do, but not really, they are better than Unwound though

Fugazi
Drive like Jehu
Thrice

>Montie
opinion discarded
those bands are good though

Big Black

Polvo

when are you going to move on to this new post-meme Montie

Fugazi and Drive Like Jehu come close but Unwound is absolutely the best

>Thrice is gud

getoff

Black Flag when they decided to alienate all their fans. Also Drive like Jehu.

When does post-hardcore just start to become different genres? Nirvana could be a fucking post-hardcore band.

haven't heard of Thrice until now, just kinda assumed they were in the same vein as the other bands, checked em out and they suck, feel kinda stupid now

maybe some of Bleach and In Utero, but for the most part, they're alt. rock

rites of spring

Moss Icon is better desu

only hate in me

>Nirvana could be a fucking post-hardcore band.
I suppose Milk It and maybe Scentless Apprentice could be considered post-hardcore, but overall they're far from it.

Ween

what

>Name a shittier piece of shit than this shit.

Post rock is laughable. Listen to me, go listen to Bach's minuet in G major and it will change your mind about this silly music.

post-hardcore was a mistake
everything mostly went completely the wrong way at a certain point

>not Indian Summer
smhtbhfam

We're talking about post-hardcore, not post-rock you dumb tripfag
unfortunately this, but it was great 80s-90s, I blame ATDI for the current wave, even though they were pretty good

brand new

I don't have time to keep track of all these teenage angst genres.

Point stands.

>better than a post-hardcore band who actually care for melodies

that sounds impossible, op

Frodus and The Jazz June.

>Fugazi, Unwound, the list goes on

>Unwound
>teenage angst

also, post-rock may be shit, but it's far from angsty, it's mostly
DUDE CRESCENDOS LMAO

Fair enough.

>The Jazz June
shitty 2nd rate emo band

>an even slightly reasonable trip

you're kidding, right?

that's just, like, your opinion, man

ps fuck off youll live

First post, best post? Seriously though. Fugazi is THE quintessential post-hardcore band. Unwound are great though.

>Black Flag when they decided to alienate all their fans.

True.

Rites of Spring and Moss Icon are two of the most influential emo bands. Rites of Spring is the genesis of the entire genre. Do your homework. Also, there is huge overelap between emo and post-hardcore because they are basically two slightly different descriptors for the same kinds of bands.

I usually dont put them in the post-hardcore category but some people do so I posted anyway.

is fugazi an emo band then?

yess??? noo..? sure?
??
does it feel emo to you?

Uhhh songs like Teeth Like God's Shoeshine, Doin the Cockroach and Shit Luck are very post hardcore

I think so.

emo = emotive hardcore punk = punk with less political lyrics and more introspective/personal lyrics

post-hardcore = hardcore punk that is aware of punk conventions w.r.t. song structure, etc. and consciously deviates from them

the two terms do not in anyway exclude eachother. fugazi is punk, hardcore punk, emotive hardcore punk (emo), and post-hardcore all at the same time.

you start

That's just an awful opinion, I love Modest Mouse but Unwound are so much better

unwound is zzzzzzzzzzz

At the Drive-In

At the Drive-In

This board is jam-packed with homosexuals. It's really amazing how they managed to fit you all in. Sardine producers could learn a thing or two.

is your tripcode necessary for this post?

>quicksand
Mein nigre.

Would anyone consider some of Built to Spill's stuff post-hardcore? I know that is quite a stretch, but I am curious.
