>tfw every major online music publication is blatantly racist now and it's impossible to even get news without this garbage being infested in
it makes me fucking sick
i even tried stereogum as an alternative, they're even worse. the freddie gibbs charged with rape story was filled of a comment section of people saying he was unfairly arrested because he was black
make this end
Hudson Martin
hip hop is fashionable right now, get over it
if you don't like that, maybe learn to form opinions on your own
Evan Ramirez
>hip hop is fashionable right now, get over it
How does that justify the blatantly racist editorial pieces listed above that list?
Caleb Parker
>black people and empathy are fashionable Ftfy
Jace Ramirez
People of Colour can't be racist you redneck MRA fedora Drumpth supporter. Can you not?
Robert Green
>the most essential afropop tracks of 2014 >racist

Lucas Hughes
there's no such thing as racism against white people
Nicholas Davis
Oh no black artists being recognized over shittier and less relevant pure Aryan artists what ever will we do
Lincoln Ross
Marcel is literally the only music blog that doesn't pull this type of shit. The only news articles he does rarely are purely music-related and not about pop gossip. He's against poptimism altogether too, take a look at his Lemonade review and countless others.
Lincoln Campbell
>cherry picks the last article posted in image and ignores literally everything else in image >a solid argument
hmm
Cooper Long
Sure they can. They can be racist to other people of color.
Nathan Stewart
also whats even better is that he doesnt talk about the same recycled "indeh" artists that p4k and stereogum constantly post about, he actually recommends really obscure stuff that never gets posted on any other site.
Chase Carter
Daily reminder that Sup Forums literally has the highest amount of non-ironic Bernie Sanders supporters, Tumblr/Twitter users and minorities on all of Sup Forums.
It's a fucking cesspool of nu-males who genuinely find artistic merit to Kanye West and Drake and get hyped for new Beyonce albums.
Really the most embarassing board on Sup Forums, which is why Doge and HERE COME DAT BOI (both memes from Tumblr) were both posted here for weeks because the crossusers are rampant.
Adam Nelson
yeah, what are you going to do about it faggot?
Charles Reed
No they can't because they aren't systemically dominant
Gabriel Nelson
If it makes you feel better, I really enjoyed Beyonce's self titled album and I hate niggers.
Juan King
Sup Forums is a leftist board
either deal with it or go back to your containment board

Are you saying blacks can't be racist to Native Americans?
Anthony Torres
>containment board
Sup Forums is a anti-lefist board in general, Sup Forums just happens to have the highest amount of nu-males
Sup Forums is the third most popular board on Sup Forums and all the other top popular boards are extremely Sup Forums-friendly.
Luke Jones
Sup Forums is only reactionary to whatever the dominant political paradigm of the time is. i bet you dont even remember the bush years newfag
Ryder Gray
I don't know that I'd call mu leftist. It's certainly further left than pol, but that isn't saying much. I honestly don't care what people's politics are on this board, but I find those who lean heavily to the right (and frequent pol) tend to scream about their beliefs instead of talking about music. It's always "cucks this", "SJWs that". Like, just stfu and talk about music.
Gabriel Martinez
Kanye was good until Yeezus and once he goes completely broke and Kim takes his kids he'll make something good again.
David Smith
>Sup Forums is the third most popular board on Sup Forums and all the other top popular boards are extremely Sup Forums-friendly.
And you believe it's from individuals who sincerely believe the tripe they're posting and not stupid teenagers being ironic and/or doing it out of a feeble act of rebellion?
Chase Harris
Minority groups in Nigeria and other parts of Africa would like to have a word with you. Also, reminder that the Japanese government is just as guilty of mistreating natives as the Europeans and Americans. Reminder that there are minority groups/races much more seriously oppressed all over the world by non-whites. Reminder that there are multiple races in Russia, India, and countless other countries who face serious discrimination.
Reminder that even many white Americans (namely, white trash Americans) are discriminated against as well (though clearly not to the same extent as blacks and hispanics).
William Butler
>mad that POC are getting mainstream recognition >calls pitchfork racist
sounds like you're projecting m8
Logan Hughes
Why would it matter who's doing it when the shit in Sup Forums is functionally indistinguishable from actual racism.
Jaxon Smith
>Being an american liberal >leftist haha
James Smith
Someone actually took the time to make that image
and here I was feeling like I was wasting my life today, yikes
Luke Sanders
Degeneracy cuck liberals the joooos white genocide
Jackson Brooks
I'm confused, how is the OP picture racist? Are you saying that more black artists being acknowledged by a publication that originally focused on white artists is a bad thing...?
Logan Ramirez
>people certainly can't believe things the opposite of me! it must be ironic!!!
Ryan Price
There is no logical argument being made with your picture, nor does it refute the point being made in the OP image.
Then again, I shouldn't have expected a nu-male to have logical reasoning as a skillset.
Grayson Murphy
Medicore/flat out bad "black" music has been getting inflated praise due to the fact that it was made by people of colour instead of the inherent quality of the music itself.
Jose Adams
Saying something is good =/= Something is actually good Sure, you can acknowledge black artists because art is subjective. But you encounter far less black people who are acknowledged for their scientifical efforts. Why? Because they just don't have scientifical efforts, and this is an objective fact."Acknowledging" rappers is just fashionable and white people are able to do it without backlash. It's hypocritical.
Brody Thompson
YG's new song "Raping White Women (Ain't Dat Bad, Faggot)" is neo-feminist, LGBT-friendly anthem that is peak Summer 2016, Best New Music.
Grayson Brooks
>scientifical
Juan Turner
Not my native language
Christian Lee
You are wrong
Nathan Baker
wtf, great argument .
i fucking love the weekend, rhianna, rick ross, rae sremmurd, rich homie quan, fetty wap, janet jackson and drake now.

>People of Colour
Holy shit is that what PoC stands for? I always thought it was Pickers of Cotton

Justin Howard
>>Saying something is good =/= Something is actually good
I'm not saying it is, and I don't agree with a lot of Pitchfork's choices (particularly Drake as number 1 of 2014, and also the list they did where Chief Keef is rated higher than Swans) BUT as you said it is subjective and the Pictfork writers have a right to their opinion.
It is YOU who are making this assumption that Pitchfork is praising black artists because it's "fashionable". I mean maybe it's true, but I think what's happening is that Pitchfork is branching out from their white indie "rock" focus, and there's nothing wrong with that. As music fans, we all discover new genres we like that we thought we never would as we get older. For example I never thought I'd like classical or jazz but now I listen to a ton of it.
I do agree that some of Pitchfork's essays/thinkpieces such as "The Unbearable Whiteness Of Indie" are really fucking stupid but those are usually NOT written by actual Pitchfork staff, as the OP image shows a lot of them are "op-eds".
Also:
>But you encounter far less black people who are acknowledged for their scientifical efforts. Why? Because they just don't have scientifical efforts, and this is an objective fact.
You may be right but what in the fuck does that have to do with music? Black jazz artists have always been miles ahead of white rock musicians, especially from the 40s-70s. Jazz paved the way for a lot of the experimentation white artists often get credit for, and THAT is also objective fact. The field of science is completely irrelevant to this discussion and I feel like you are bringing it up just to make blacks feel inferior which is far more racist than anything going on with Pitchfork.
Hudson Martinez
I love jazz. I actually deleted that part of my post. No, I don't think black people are inferior. I think they are given less opportunities and hipsters try to feel better about that by acclaiming "artists" rather than doing something that actually helps them.
Jordan Torres
I agree that hipsters do that, but let's remember that there have been a fair amount of great jazz musicians who were white, but still worked with black musicians. Peter Brotzmann is a noteworthy one (I really like free jazz and I think some of the stuff he has done is amazing, such as playing in a band that has like eight saxophone players at once, it borders on being noise).
But let's be real, the greatest jazz musicians of all time are black. And even if they weren't blacks still pioneered the genre, the same way they pioneered rock n roll only to have it robbed/appropriated by the likes of Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra.
As Mos Def says in his album Black On Both Sides (great album): "Elvis Presley ain't got no soul/Chuck Berry is rock n roll".
And I'd also like to say, a lot of the black rappers Pitchfork praises really are worthy of praise. MBDTF is a masterpiece, regardless of the fact that it is hip-hop, it is simply a well-made album. Same with GKMC. I like hip-hop a lot, there are many hip-hop albums I would consider masterpieces, but I will admit that I find it cringeworthy when Pitchfork gives 8/10 Best New Music to artists like Young Thug and Future. that stuff IS crap, but Pitchfork sometimes has to follow trends to stay relevant in these times, unfortunately. but I don't see that as being "fashionable", I think that's just the "business" part of music journalism. I mean they are owned by Conde Nast, they can only have so much freedom for reviews.
You know what really bothers me? Pitchfork praising terrible white artists such as Adele, Taylor Swift, and Iggy Azalea. They NEVER would have endorsed music like that a decade ago, and I see that as more of a problem than praising shitty trap music. I mean at least Young Thug and Future are unique, even if what makes them unique is just a gimmick.
Brayden Jackson
>the greatest jazz musicians of all time are black. Yes, by far.
I have to say I have tried to enjoy hip-hop but I... Can't. It's just not my thing. I kind of enjoy kanye, but not that much. I can't say it's genius, like some jazz musicians are. I agree, pitchfork praises also terrible white musicians. They are biased and have poor taste. In conclusion, pitchfork sucks.
Parker Gomez
lol i bet you wont call someone a numale to their face tho Sup Forumslack
Jonathan Flores
the second section of articles are not racist in any sense of the word, they just have to do with black artists. Really the only arguments in the entire picture are the first half of the articles at the bottom of the page.
Owen Rogers
Marcel is a sjw faggot that panders to any big publication as long as it benefits him somehow.
Chase Phillips
It's kind of ironic that Bernie Sanders is seen as the candidate for white hipsters who pretend to love black people when Shillary supporters paint them as a bunch of angry white racists. >guys, the white working class is racist, that's why the Democrats abandoned them!
Evan Perry
No it isn't. People just like to think its an anti-leftist board in general to justify their superficially contrarian opinions. Most people on Sup Forums are just Leftists looking to knock off steam through role-reversal.
Eli Moore
There is no such thing as racism against white people. Any such feelings are rooted in an insecurity that started in childhood and have manifested into hysterical white male panic. Its hilarious to watch.
Jordan Campbell
lmao he pans pop music constantly and praises Dean Blunt, Ferraro, Arca, OPN etc. who are certainly not relevant to "big publications"
Joseph Roberts
why do you people astroturf as sjws to try and make it seem like the world is against you
Isaac Jenkins
this plus he's also dropped the whole sjw/political agenda shtick thing a ton recently
