Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

Earl Sweatshirt - I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside

These are all mostly instrumental if that's your sort of thing

The Disintegration Loops - William Basinski
Selected Ambient Works Vol. 2 - Aphex Twin (for the most part)
Untrue - Burial
All Is Violent, All Is Bright - God Is An Astronaut

...

I'd say Within Deep Dark Chambers and Halmstad, first and fifth albums by Shining.

Maybe 16[485] by Agrypnie

nigga just listen to DSBM or any black metal album from China

dalek - Untitled

...

...

doesn't get much heavier than death

Thank you.

Helios - Eingya
Emancipator - Soon it will be cold enough to build fires
Emancipator - Safe in the Steep Cliffs

Most don't have singing, but all are really atmospheric.

King Crimson Red

ive been falling in love with that album recently is there anything similar?

Any album by Johnny Hobo, Ramshackle glory, Pat the bunny, or Wingnut dishwashers union,
Nothing do with love, all about addiction, homelessness, fear, loneliness, regret, and general scumbaggery

...

can't believe no one's said Pink Moon yet, not super depressing but still

>depressing
>melancholic
Looks like someone can't read

It is, a bit.

That's pretty much the opposite. That album is sugary sweet to the max.

Shape of Despair - monotony fields

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

I'm not joking.

...

Pallbearer - Sorrow and Extinction

I'm gonna go listen to it right now.

If you really want to be depressed though, read about recent events regarding the band Sockweb.

the lyrics are sad, and the meaning behind them. i could see how someone could listen to that album and not think that its a sad album because they werent paying much attention to the lyrics but it is definitely depressing. if youre talking musically/instrumentally than never mind

Really anything Joy Division. But this album is the epitome of melancholie

**then

Slint - Spiderland
King Crimson - Red
David Bowie - Blackstar

Radiohead - Amnesiac

nice sarcasm

Try "Bohren & Der Club Of Gore - Piano Nights"
>make sure it's evening
>put the lights out
>pour yourself a glass of whiskey
>sit alone by your window
>see how until you start thinking about an hero

It's instrumental but it might just be one of the most depressing albums in history.

Woods of Desolation - Torn Beyond Reason

dopethrone

classic

...

...

Did anybody say Kid A? That's not really too sad though.

Basically, most of Radiohead's discography is kinda depressing/melancholic

...

Elliott Smith's first three albums

anything by tim hecker

Amnesiac fits better in this case

looks like someone is pretending to have listened to an album they never listened to, just to be contrarian :^)

That album is genuinely scary.

omg rip Ian

This album is about love, user.

The dark age of love.

i always feel the Musick To Play In The Dark albums are somewhat underrated. sure, The Ape Of Naples is great, but Are You Shivering, The Dreamer Is Still Asleep, Ether and Batwings (A Liminal Hymn) feel much feelsier to me.
