Any fave albums/tracks? Dunno where to start
>aesop rock
first one I thought of but I'm not a big fan otherwise
skelethon is one of my fav albums
none shall pass
new one is dope
labor days is classic, idk
Labor days and TIK, my boy.
LD is 10/10 and TIK is way more accessible imo. Skelethon is relatively accessible too.
Seconding Aes, also a big fan of Open Mike Eagle and El-P's non-RtJ stuff
El-P's solo albums are dope, RTJ is hit/miss
Start with None Shall Pass and Labor days
If you like NSP check out everything he released from Fast Cars onward
If you like LD check out Appleseed, Daylight EP, and Float
If you liked all of that take a chance on Music for Earthworms
If and only if you believe he can do no wrong after listening to all of those, prove yourself wrong with Bazooka Tooth
Exactly
q's albums gonna be lit
haha bazooka tooth is probably my least fav as well
Anyone got any recommendations for albums with really cool beats / production? Stuff like El-P's solo work, MF Doom or cLOUDDEAD. Also have a chart.
buck 65 has some really interesting production, checkout Talkin' Honky Blues
Gonna get crucified for this opinion, but Kool A.D. is my absolute favorite lyricist. And I've listened to 80-90% of the hip-hop posted here.
>the next-level free-association
>the multi-syllabics
>touches on serious subject matters without ever sounding preachy or heavy-handed in the slightest
>god-tier flow
If he focused his craft more and was less jokey, he'd be a GOAT contender.
It's got some good stuff on it but overall it feels like a weird misstep in the catalog
I guess it makes sense since it was his first full length after his breakdown
No hate from me, he's dope.
The horoscopes he writes for paper mag are pretty hilarious too
Also Jonwayne is killing it right now, he just came back to making music after a 2-year hiatus and dropped 3 singles one after another, 2 of which were fucking incredible and 1 that was still pretty good. Incredibly unique lyricist, can't name another rapper that sounds remotely like him,
This chart is fucked lol.
Tyler the Creator two deviations under Madvillain? Get the fuck outta here
GZA
wolf should definitely go under conceptual
Float: Float, Big Bang, Skip Town
Labor Days: Daylight, Battery, No Regrets, 9-5ers Anthem
Bazooka Tooth: Babies with Guns
None Shall Pass: the whole thing
Skelethon: Leisureforce, Gopher Guts
The Impossible Kid: the whole thing
Fast Cars: Holy Smokes
Lice: Katz, So Strange Here
Are You Gonna Eat That: Church Pants, Grubstake, Meter Feeder
Bestiary:the whole thing
after that go pretend that you enjoy earthworms and appleseed like everyone else
whether created this disaster is embarrassingly out of touch across multiple eras, so not much different to the people who try to make these hip hop generals happen really
Hey fuck you Appleseed is legitimately good
Diabolic
Ill Bill
Immortal Technique
GZA
In that order
What does Sup Forums think of this?

Kinda relevant question, who was it that said 'if it was only about lyrics, killer mike would have a grammy'? Or some shit like that...
Good voice, bad flow
he's a big guy
Listen to this shit youtube.com
Oh, Hood politics Kendrick Lamar
