ITT: Highly-acclaimed albums that are undoubtedly and objectively shit

I don't think there's a bad song on this album.

I AM AN ANTICHRIST

NO DOGSBODY

MUUMMAAAAAAAAAY

Johnny Rotten's vocal performance on this is pure entertainment, funny as fuck and completely drenched in sardonic, sarcastic snot.
Not even close to objectively shit

Well, musically speaking, Sex Pistols were absolute garbage.

Truth

more like AYEEEE AM N ANTEEKRAISTAH

So was early beatles, and so is modern hip hop, but we don't talk about that, now do we?

just their bass player desu

It's acclaim comes from its cultural impact. The material is an attempt at emulating Johnny Thunders (hard to name a punk band that wasn't doing that at that time) while John Lydon goes on his own antics. Definitely wasn't the greatest album to come out of that scene, but it's a fun rock'n'roll album.

yeah and the rest weren't talented enough to make up for it

Not even Sid on the album. It was Glen Matlock.

Why does Sup Forums shit on the Sex Pistols all the time? They were literally the trend setters for punk, Ramones may have been first but the Pistols were more influential, and their tiny discography is good for what it is.

Lol that's one of the best rock albums ever
>missing the point of punk
Go back to listening to ELP and U2, faggot

Just because you're influential doesn't mean you're shit.

>Why does Sup Forums shit

Cus they are fat user, and that's what fat people do, they eat and shit.

>They were literally the trend setters for punk
>Ramones may have been first
These are both wrong

Why does Sup Forums hate punk

No shit all those early punk bands that was the point, anyone could do it

...

Ramones was waaaaay more influential than Sex Pistols

Sup Forums hates music

Ramones was the first punk band. How is this wrong?

Cause it's wrong/not true?

Wrong
This can be argued but Pistols had more influential outside of punk too with bands like Joy Division

Ok what band was the first punk band?

Cheap Trick

Mozart. He was the GG Allin of the 18th century

Are you fuckin kiddin me? Cheap Trick was obviously hard rock

Television

Ramones were the first band to call themselves punk rock
Therefore they are punk rock

lol no you might as well name drop Patti Smith, New York Dolls, and Iggy Pop

do you think you are funny?

This. Iggy Pop and the Stooges was pretty much punk as well

I shot on early Beatles all the time and your really over-generalizing with he hip-hop comment.

The sex pistols while they were hugely important and influential, but made really shitty music.

"pretty much" as in proto-punk

*shit on

Wouldn't call this album shit, but most of it is pretty forgettable.

Self Esteem is the only non-forgettable song on there tbqh irc

Seventeen? Or are you talking about the Offspring?

So is the point of punk being absolute shit musicians. No wonder you're an absolute pleb.

doesnt even qualify as shit. shit would at least provide fertilizer. you insult shit by listing this here.

>Go back to listening to ELP and U2, faggot

No, I'm listening to PiL

...

Build the wall

I don't think there are any good songs on that album either.

I think this gets most of its credit because of its size and concept. As far as Floyd albums go it doesn't compare to the early years.

Was just about to post this, it's fucking awful.

...

What is Raw Power?

Ramones the first punk band!? The Stooges? MC5? New York Dolls?

Fuck off OP!

They're considered Proto punk

They were not influential. They were just famous. The Sex Pistols, despite their enormous success, have not influenced anything about punk, not the sound, not the composition, not the style, nothing.
The Ramones and The Sex Pistols are nothing more than t-shirt material: they made some mess in the UK and US, brought the term "punk" to its fame and disappeared. They're just a name in rock history books that has no relation to anything today.

But Ramones are undoubtedly good.

The Exploited are very good.

>i don't know what context is
the album was released in 1977 dimwit

>implying that affects the albums' quality

Nobody is denying how important it was culturally. Good? Debatable. But it's just not great music.

Probably the Stooges or Patti Smith or The Sonics or something
