i like some songs/10
1st half is a bretty good followup to SILY
2nd half is a psychedelic masterpiece
4/10
too laidback and psychedelic
it's boring compared to Since I Left You
...
how out of touch are you
Good comeback, just good.
Bretty good
First half is great, second half kinda blurs together and I'm not a fan of Kaleidoscope Lovers, last 2 track finish off the album strongly though.
anyone got a link? archive's down
who fucking cares?
Since I left you was so fucking boring
It bretty good.

The Avalanches - Wildflower (320 MP3)
I was looking for this too lol. I just got this from
i'd rate it a 9 (on unreasonable 'modern' scale)
which is to say, bretty good.
I definitely thought a lot of SILY was boring when I first heard it. I think that even though SILY was more dancy and beat-y than wildflower I think they have comparable amounts of stuff going on.
in general I think people are exaggerating the drop off between SILY and wildflower in terms of richness and interesting-ness. The albums just have different points of emphasis and one of them has a legendary aura around it while the other one has a legend to live up to
have you tried listening to muse? they are more exciting, I bet you'd be into it
Go back to Univision.
Very good album. It's not SILY but after warming up to it, I'm glad it isn't. The first half was a nice throwback to their debut album but the second half pushed boundaries for them. I'm going to have a lot of great memories to the second half of this record.
no faggot, muse is for edgy 14 year olds, I dont see the connection?
ok brb

It's great. Probably my AOTY so far

>HAR-MO-NEEEEEEEE
I don't know about you guys but I think it's bretty good
Way better on a song by song basis than SILY. Doesn't fit together as well though.
>you know, a bad part about flying is how you come back down

rapper features grew on me, but still don't feel like they add much to the tracks save for Because I'm Me or Live a Lifetime Love
which track features ariel pink?
Live a Lifetime Love
Is it as good as Since I Left You? no
Is it good? absolutely
WE BE DRIVIN DRUNK SMOKIN BLUNTS RUNNIN RED LIGHTS
I wish I had avalanches jammies
>My 16's and tail twelves
>Dick like water, reals in hell
>I sold dope, didn't stack up
>And I buy a berth from jail twelve
AAAHHH
Yep
Easiest way to sum it up.
Definitely an album to check out at least once, even if it is to compare to SILY
what does he do/sing in it?
i have the cd booklet which lists all the people on each track and ariel isn't on it.
pretty sure it's those layered "ooh"s that come in around the 0:42 mark
I like SILY to some extent, I don't love it, but it's warm, and very creative. However, Wildflower is fantastic. The only thing that I'm not a huge fan of: The fucking "Favorite Things" part on Frankie Sinatra is really annoying and not a great way to close the song IMO.
Favorite track: Live a Lifetime Love
Worst track: Saturday Night Inside Out
But that's pretty much the exact opposite of the truth, user.
it kicks off with the best song and goes straight into the worst song I've ever heard. I made it past Frankie Sinatra once, and the rest of the album was only decent
Test post
>turnstile splash
i thought it was really uninteresting and an impressively bad followup for having not released anything for 16 years
i enjoyed thewas.xyz way more than anything on the album
I forgot it existed until I saw this thread/10
> Noisy Eater has a breakfast and lunch verse
no dinner?
and I think that this track alone is a pretty good example of what the entire album is like. It doesnt have a climax, a conclusion. Is that the point?
Really? I feel like Stepkids makes a fittingly heartwarming climax and SNIO was the best choice to end the album. And what a better way to kick off the album than Because I'm Me? IMO the sequencing is the best part of Wildflower
this album goes to show that all the time in the world isn't enough to make a great album. they over thought it and it just feels lifeless and stilted like anything else i can find on bandcamp.
subways is fucking tycho-tier shite, the guest vocals are forced and dominate the tracks. i get the impression after SILY they just brought in all these people just because they could, because they weren't nobodies anymore.
overall, very disappointed as I would say SILY is the album i've listened to the most and had great hopes for the follow-up but i can't force myself to like it by relistening over and over until it clicks. avalanches have lost the magic, sad to say.
Bretty shitty
this is better
Bretty good
pretty meh up until Harmony
Harmony through Kaleidiscopic Lovers is amazing
Last two songs are lame
I like it.
It feels like the daytime to SILY's night.
>I fell in love.. on a... summer day
>Last two songs are lame
Believe me, they grow on you. I used to hate Saturday Night Inside Out but now I can't imagine the album ending any other way. Give it a chance.
It's very solid if you remove Stepkids
Why does everyone hate this song? It's so relaxing and hopeful.
8.7/10 for me
Croaky dying woman vocals with meh lyrics. The synth's the best part of that track.
Interesting. I understand why some might not like the vocals but I think the lyrics are really well written. It fits the 'childhood innocence' and nostalgic themes that are the foundation of this record.
Transition from Live a Lifetime Love to Park Music
>MOVING OUT WITH MOVING OUT WITH MEE
People actually saying Frankie Sinatra isn't the worst song?
Does that mean the album is shit then? Because that song is fucking terrible
Bretty good/10
9.2/10
faggot
7/10
5-6/10
A good portion of it was decent. I felt indifferent to the rest. Probably have to hear it a couple more times
>the ending of If I Was a Folkstar
>Isn't he great?
>Far out.
>Hey mermaids, I'm only here in the sun to play
>I wanna join you in the urban surf
>And learn to love you in a neon way
6/10
...I fell in love for......... SUNNNNNNSHIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiIIIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiIIIIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeee
>tfw when I'M FRANK SINATRA
Damn I just heard the first track and immediately recognized the sample from it as "Wants Ads"by the Honey Comb...
such a good feel. This album sounds tight.
youtube.com
Well apparently members of the band have been making quilts. If they ever sell them you could sleep in one.
9.3/10 imo
Some of the rapping made me cringe.
Otherwise, great album.
WELL EXCUSE ME
UM UM
WELL EXCUSE ME

danny brown's parts are ruined by his shitty meme lyrics
A good effort, but not as good as The Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea!
>AHHHHHH FRANKIE SINATRA
bretty good, turnstiles is too fucking short though
WILD THING
>GIRL, I THINK I LOVE YOU
