Well, this is very interesting. I honestly wouldn't even know what to categorize this as, which is excellent. I'm strangely drawn to it's craziness though, it's so unpredictable. I'm always getting behind the black metal projects floating around here so please keep up the good work my friend.
Holy smoke, I actually really like this. I think the part where the percussion kicks in about halfway through is awesome. This is some top notch stuff man, I will be very much looking forward to more material in the future.
I liked this right from the first plucks. Really interesting vocal work going on in this. Totally took me by surprise. Pretty good track though, m8. You're doing good stuff.
This was interesting. I'm not really sure what to make of it though. I think it goes over my head a bit. I dug Trip Cut Short the most.
The thread just started you cuck, let people give feedback as the thread goes on.
Holy shit this is great
you build suspense really well, but I'd really recommend chilling out with those drums towards the end. The sorta hip-hop kick pattern throws the vibe off.
Really good starting point, though.

this one is really nice
This is actually very cool music. I'm pretty entranced by it. Your production is spot on and just sounds so polished up. It seems like something you gave a lot of thought. I think I will download. Thanks, friend!
For some reason I was afraid to follow that link (I think it's the picture). Anyway emo isn't really my cup of tea but I actually thought that Nora was a pretty catchy track and that's a pretty rare thing to say in a BC thread so good on ya m8.
Holy smoke, I hit play and got something that was not even close to what I was expecting. I think this might actually be too experimental for me, which isn't something I say very often. I think it's cool sounding music though, so good on you for stumping me.
Ridiculously brutal. This is more metal than most metal. You're a gnarly son of a gun. I really don't know how to critique harsh noise so I'm just gonna say it's nasty.
I'm pretty sure I've recced you before but I'm checking you out again nonetheless. I dig your restraint and minimalism you've got going on. The track Cirrus in particular really spoke to me. I found it literally inspiring. Good work, my friend!

Thanks for the feedback! The stuff at the end was pretty ridiculous, I agree. I hope to record that track with actual instruments and dial it back a bit.

thanks a lot for the feedback, man. too experimental is a great compliment, so thanks.
I've recced you before and I'll do it again. I dig your brand of bedroom folk. Thanks for the compliment, my friend.
I liked your quote about pie heaven, I chuckled at it. I appreciate your ability to abstain from long-windedness that a lot of ambient artists struggle with (no exemption for myself). I actually tend to like those shorter soundscape snapshots. I think my favorite track was 5AM. I might just download.
I actually can appreciate this given the way you kind of take influence from shoegaze type styles but don't completely marry it. Shoegaze can get pretty derivative if you ask me, but I like your balance of psyche in there too. I always like to see artists that defy genre definitions. I thought Sun Glitter was an especially cool track.

Description:
Tragedy and viscera, established vicariously through slow, warm, looping and warping drones, glitches, bursts of noise, stinging synths and overwhelmingly profound levels of volume. In the ever expanding thirty eight minutes that creates this single track, Jorge embodies the strong foundations of these beliefs in what is Fauxiliary.

Heeey the thread is still up. I guess I'll leave some feedback.
You probably get this a lot, but this sounds REALLY sufjan. The chord progression, melodies and the vocal styling really remind me of songs like The Transfiguration. Although I don't think sufjan would write in those intense cymbals and synths near the end, and I love the lyrics.

I was big into guitar/singing/songwriting when I was in high school. I desperately tried to gain traction, but most of my work was met with negative feedback. It's not that I couldn't sing- I'm a decent singer. It's not that I was a bad guitar player- I always had a knack for it. I spent years practicing and trying different things, but the reception my music recieved was always lukewarm at best.
By the end of my senior year of college, I accepted the fact that guitar player/singer songwriter just wasn't my "niche". It wasn't my forte. I put the guitar aside, gave the bad lyrics and the average singing a break and got into making electronic music.
Not only did I discover that I enjoy being a producer more than a performer, but I quickly found my own unique style and my new music was received much more positive feedback from listeners than my singer/songwriter attempts.
I'm not saying you should quit making music, you should definitely keep making music if it makes you happy.
But I know how miserable it can be knowing that you have musical talent but constantly being disappointed in the work you put out.
My advice to you would be to at least consider the possibility: "I know I'm a musician, but maybe I'm not THIS type of musician".
Keep on keepin' on, dude!
-Dierksimus
you got the guitar thing down, so start with vocals and see if you can just use words that you can sing properly and hopefully if you work on it enough you have somewhat coherent lyrics
we back in here
we just put out a tape from a Singapore-based dream pop band called Cosmic Child, you may have seen them around here before.
really sick release, give it a full listen. gets more chaotic and shoegazey as it goes on.
we've also got a showcase coming up on August 12th in La Puente, CA. you can visit our facebook page for deets if you wanna hit that up. i'll be headlining it.
-logan (@cellardoortapes)
and the link to that is here
if ya got some tighter performances and a pop filter this would be pretty sick. just learn to EQ/engineer, more basics and all that and you'll sound sexy as hell
i hear this sound a lot. i know the whole point is to seem all slacker chill and stuff but ya gotta change up the tones a lil bit bud. maybe add some sick juno lines in there or something. got potential though
aw damn that initial drop in orange county space station is dope as hell. i'll like this more the more i listen to it probably, good ass ideas and killer guitar tones in here.

dreamy
not bandcamp but nice, uplifting, atmospheric, and well produced.
cool, some good riffs, ornaments, and sounds. I like your panned auxiliary percussion. Try to be more dynamic, less monotonous/robotic though, a few like shoppingmall could be shortened, make more variation and energy than just instrument changes. And try to make your sound design less rough/coarse/squashed, it sounds like everything is playing at full volume all the time (especially prevalent on last 2 tracks). Track 8 is nice and Track 1 is awesome (except for the hihats) and catchy.
