/daily/ - nyar makes one edition

Listen to your library, show off your backlog, babble about new music, tell us what you've been listening to today and what you will listen to in the following month, conclude that Jangle's Thrift Tourney was a spook, listen to Swedish prog, and just let the good times flow.

yo whats good people

jonathan richman is the greatest artist of all time

what is some good instrumental music to read mango too

miyazaki soundtracks

Name a cooler person

We invented poseurcore u fukkin melon, we've already listened to all of them and jerk each other off about them.

jonathan richman

>listen to Sweden prog

What is this meme?

I just liked a third-wave post-rock album. I'm a sinner
Manga goes nice with drone

Nah I definitely think The Specials are worthwhile. Jamaican bands like Toots and the Maytals are better but I like The Specials a lot, I have a bit of nostalgia for them from listening to my dad's records when I was younger but even so I still think if you're getting into ska you should listen.

Why don't you come to the good room instead?
plug.dj/alternative-secret-room-of-taste

Because that room is for NERDS

rudi and nyar
paging you to listen to more of the chart

some third wave is alright
swans is kinda third wave (new swans that is, not soundtracks)

>4 for hanatarash
pleb
jk I get it

i'll hear more soon, got my other chart i'm working on too

goddamn can you fuckers stop recing me shit that's over 2 discs long? i've enjoyed most of the double albums i've heard so far, but i have a full tourney to work through here.

Why did fish meme leave

for hanatarash
yeah that's not really my kind of noise

at least you don't have a three disc rec like i formerly did

some rude user insulted his subjective taste (at least that's the presumed reason, because afaik we've got nothing but radio silence from him since)

i wish he'd come back

I remember him saying he was taking a roadtrip somewhere to see Swans. I think he's probably just cooling off after being the center of too much drama.

>David Bowie, Prince, Richard Lyons, Harambe, and Alan Vega all died this year

Who's next?

Listening to this for the first time ever. Holy shit this good.

Just wait until you hear Robbie Basho

fahey > basho in overall consistency, but basho has better albums i must admit

benis in cancer is best basho btw

>benis in cancer
>not the objectively superior Visions of the Cunt Tree

Holy fuck boys I almost hit a tire on the highway going 120.

I'm back in the land of music; expect some gr8 1st impressions once I re-solder my headphones.
Who /hype/ for this stale ass chart?

>tfw we could have actually lost two /dailiens/ in one week
What a week

>FISH still hasn't returned
don't take it easy just yet...

>I still haven't heard a good third of these albums
when I die I'm going to poseur hell I know it

We were never memeing. That's probably my favorite album, period.

What's the one on the bottom right that you still haven't done? I've been meaning to give it a listen, but I can't remember the name.

whats some good short albums/EPs that are on spotify

im tired of long stuff and having to download so much im really lazy right now

Congress-Woman Malinda Jackson Parker - Tubman Goodtype Songs of Liberia

king krule- s/t
12 minutes

insect warfare- world extermination
27(+/-) minutes

jessica pratt- on your own love again
30 ish?

I consider all of these 10/10 albums btw

>insect warfare- world extermination
>27(+/-) minutes
22 minutes my bad

You.

Lil Ugly Mane - Uneven Compromise

I think it's on Spotify

milo - Things That Happen at Day is like 20 min long

I'm coming, Harambe.

>guitar stuff that's mediocre cuz the artist refuses to have more than just himself on the album

ayyyy what album is this?

what

no

lol well that wasnt the screenshot i meant to post. I was talking about the black w/ Japanese characters album in the bottom right you gave an 8.0

what

yes

There at most two things happening at once in that album. Not even radio pop is that boringly simple.

im not jangle but it's 1st by Fushitsusha

Paul Rooney - Lucy Over Lancashire
Elephant Gym - Balance
Basic Channel - Phylyps Trak
Disco Inferno - Summer's Last Sound
Even Oxen - s/t
It's not, sadly

>There at most two things happening at once in that album. Not even radio pop is that boringly simple.
>simple
>john fahey simple
>john
>fahey
>simple

what

no

have you ever played a guitar or looked at fahey's songs written

>solo artists will never be cumplex cuz theres only one of dem!
are you fucking stupid

>There at most two things happening at once in that album
what do u even mean by this? does he need drums and bass and another guitar for it to be good or something

hi. I haven't posted in a /daily/ since 2014. haven't actively listened to music in about a year. only record from 2016 I've enjoyed a lot was the new Anohni (which I've heard a whopping twice!). what are some good electronic/idm/ambient/drone/modern classical albums from 2015 and '16? it's never to late to get back on that horse, right?

welcome back
I startec here november 14, who are you?
the only rec I can think of is:
Kronos Quartet- sunrise of the planetary dream collector

and I gotta suggest givingbear's album from this year, mentioned above (even oxen)

Half Handed Cloud's Flying Scroll Flight Control

>implying there aren't guys like Nick Drake or Andres Segovia who play solo guitar stuff that actually involves multiple parts done on one instrument
Fahey uses the excuse of having long songs to have each part of each song not be as interesting as the stuff for example the above two mentioned guys do. And I have looked at Fahey's songs and know how to play guitar; his stuff is pretty simple and if you play classical guitar will have the easiest time with his stuff.

I've never had a trip. I began posting around april of 2014 and posted regularily for about half a year. I'm pretty sure I was the first to have a chart that included both albums and films (if that tells you anything).

thanks for the recommendation, will try to check it out.

welcome back familia!

there's a shit ton of stuff to get you started. have fun!

>name drops famous "super gud" guitarists
each one has entirely different styles of playing. Classical guitar technique is a world away from the finger picking blues style of Fahey.
And it's apparent you've only listened to Fare Forward as your citing long song lengths as a complaint.
Please come back and try again later

>Fahey uses the excuse of having long songs
he has very few long songs in his extremely extensive discography. almost all of them stop before 10mins

lucy over lancashire is great, thanks :)

what the fuck

i know my modern electronic experimental music, my man.

Glad you like it, man. I think it's a pretty underrated EP.

阿部薫 – Winter 1972

You're going to have some fun with that. I'm expecting either a huge pan or some huge praise.

do i need a trip to post here?

No but it would be preferred so that we can easily identify you.

>No but it would be preferred so that we can easily (meme) you.

>rewatching sopranos
>Meadow has an ulver poster in her room
:o

thank you! I've got some favorite musicians to catch up on (how does Garden of Delete compare to the rest of his oeuvre?), some I've heard good things about (Arca) and a lot I don't know about. spent so much time dedicated to film that I've completely lost track of the music world (and Sup Forums, for that matter. never bother with Sup Forums, it took 2 days to realize that place was trash).

what was the name of that Facebook kid who drew a picture of Garfield and 9/11, btw?

It's meme time

>what was the name of that Facebook kid who drew a picture of Garfield and 9/11, btw?

moses garza

I don't know why I know that

No memes. Only anime(mes)

Show producers usually have good taste. I've caught Captain Beefheart references in both Archer and 30 Rock, and Adventure Time makes regular experimental music references (Zappa album covers, "primitive noise band"--I think they even snuck free jazz in there at one point).

I thought I had filtered you already, you piece of shit

GoD's radically different from the rest of his discog. it's a grower. at first for me, it was a 4, now i'd say it's verging on a 7 and growing.

b-but those are memes

Don't know howi feel about this. Don't know if it is a 9.5/10 or a 10
Calm down my dude
Not until you start watching them

that's his name! what happened to him? I remember Facebook dm'ing him once before he disappeared off the face of the earth (read: Sup Forums).

what's your favorite out of his discog and what would you rate that?

Ye. It's quite nice to find music references every now and then. See pic related.

R+7
10/10

Anime is a meme, make no mistake

I should update the tv with this

I'm pleb af but I'd like some recs to get me going :)
