I didn't really dig Lament that much. I did hear the actual show was amazing, but as an album it mostly left me cold.

I'll add that all Infinity Engine games had great soundtracks. Some weren't incredible by themselves, but perfectly fit the mood the rest of the game was trying to convey. Kai Rosenkranz does the same thing with the Gothic series. Nothing groundbreaking, but spot-on synergy with the game.
Something quite special, however, was Mark Morgan's Planescape: Torment OST, which is the sort of music Bone Machine-era Tom Waits would have made if commissioned.
