>not the fact he used an umbrella for a production method so more varied than '''classical'''

is this bait?

its a meme you dip
H O W
O
W

N E W ?
E
W
?

What?

Electronic music is music made with electronic instruments.

How is it bait?

''''''''electronic music''''''''' is everything since about 1940 made with instruments that have plugs

xD

Where is the meme?

If techno is electronic music, why isn't hip hop? Or academic music? Or synthpop? Or industrial? Or ambient?

hip hop is hip hop, not electronic.
synthpop, industrial and ambient is part of electronic music.
>how to discogs

The question, "Isn't rap also electronic music?" is totally irrelevant.
You may not be able to read the context of this thread because of your autism, but if you could you would see that he is not asking for rap.
He posted a picture of an album to lead us in the right direction of what he likes, and that album if definitely not rap.

lmao you flop
hip hop is hip hop
synthpop is synthpop
industrial is industrial
ambient is ambient
and all of them can be classified under electronic music

techno is techno, not electronic
house is house, not electronic

So why say '''''electronic music''''''''?

Would you ask for string music, posting a picture of Loveless and think that will be a shoegaze thread?

holy fuck
autism is off the charts

>the truth is autism

lol this board

>Second

i give up with definitions.
i think the term "electronic music" should not exist - we would be spared some confusion.

actually hip hop can be electronic music, but it also can be purely instrumental.

Electronic genres are all the genres that are defined by the use of electronic instruments

F.ex.: Techno can't be made by using classical instruments, although that would be insanely cool.

...

It should absolutely not exist and especially on a music discussion board.

Techno is 35 years old and extremely varied
House is the same
Breaks/D&B slightly less
Trance the same

If a board can have threads dedicated for hip hop or metal, ambient or sub, wub, subgenres like emo, no reason why you'd then lump all the above together, at all.

>Techno can't be made by using classical instruments
(not true by the way)

You may be right that OP should have been more specific, but because he wasn't doesn't mean you should turn off your brain.

This Album right here

I didn't, he asked for electronic music, I listed artists who make electronically produced music, the OP image I assumed was just an example but by no means specific since he didn't say so.

...

color me fucking dead. this is really cool

I love the drum structuring. This album is so overlooked

>Orbital
>not techno

just because they're covering techno doesn't make the actual performance techno

Aside from the fact the user said techno can't be made using classical instruments which is what I replied to, techno is NOT defined by the instruments so yeah, it is techno.

>Stylistically, techno is generally repetitive instrumental music, oftentimes produced for use in a continuous DJ set. The central rhythmic component is most often in common time (4/4), where time is marked with a bass drum on each quarter note pulse, a backbeat played by snare or clap on the second and fourth pulses of the bar, and an open hi-hat sounding every second eighth note. The tempo tends to vary between approximately 120 to 150 beats per minute (bpm), depending on the style of techno.

>people on Sup Forums actually think electronic is a genre

fuck off you autismo, get the fuck out of here

I've listened to this a few times in the past but it never really clicked for me until last night, completely understand why a sub-section of Sup Forums is obsessed with it now.

most the time it's stupid, yes, but what about where there is more ambiguity? like what genre would r+7 or mutant be?

>8 years later and these threads still happen

I always suspect you've made them (as bait) whenever I see them crop up desu

Yeah, it's a crazy good album.

whats name of the album

Literally says on the cover retard

Velocity : Design : Comfort by Sweet Trip

>tfw he fell for the "electronic isn't real music." meme

looool, cba to come here very often anymore unless really bored

That's not at all what he said or meant

I want you to write it down for me, I'm dominant here not you, so obey like this user or I will punish you.

>the moment the strings on Right Here, Right Now come in

I'm gonna have a good time with this

...

>thread about greatest electronic albums

>see the word trance mentioned once or twice

>no mention of tri-state

wtf

I love electronic music, Pierre Schaeffer, Kendrick Lamar, Coil, the list could go on...

because trance is like one of the shittiest dance music genres, not even to mention electronic music

yeah and america might be a shit hole but bill gates is still a pretty great dude, so whats your point

Linux is better.

Fucking incredible album

what a shit album... jesus

apples to oranges. saying linux is better than windows in this context is like saying rock is better than electronic. we're talking about best electronic albums specifically, which tri-state is one of

no, it's saying that rock beats scissors

and if someone asked you for the best scissors, you wouldn't say "just use a rock"

>best electronic albums specifically, which tri-state is one of

of course you would, against the scissors

it's a john cage is good meme

criminally underrated album

lol john cage is one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century

Haywyre two fold pt.2 is amazing
