Hi, I have just begun my interest in music from a listener's PoV. I'm constructing a music library and so far I have found the Piero Scaruffi recommendations the most varied and convincing. Feel free to engage with me. I am unsure whether the medieval music and the Beethoven music are truly equivalent choices, so I am less happy with them so far. But I am very satisfied with my rock, jazz, and ambient collection thus far.
There is something unsettling about the fact most of your chart is either for the mallgoth or the ghetto-minded.
Are these the sounds of the young sensitive male in modern society?
This is similar but there is more femininity.
This is troubling.
Fucking scaruffi drone. Get a taste of your own before judging others' tastes
posting this old chart for the last time
am making a new one tonight
sorry for not reccing but idk what to suggest to anyone so far
You gotta keep that pink background tho. Its like your trademark
It's fine that you decide to follow others' guidelines regarding taste to discover new things, but don't get stuck there: try to build your own from it.
You should really check out MF DOOM's work if you haven't. Starting with this album.
Fuck off poseur
>It's fine that you decide to follow others' guidelines regarding taste
I'm not following guidelines for taste, I'm following guidelines for quality.
>try to build your own from it.
My library and taste couldn't possibly be anything other than my own. Don't conflate using a more random/varied choice of sources with individuality. Whichever sources and whichever numbers of sources I use ultimately comes down to my own choice, my own building.
>You should really check out MF DOOM's work if you haven't. Starting with this album.
I know his work and I don't think even Madvillainy would be appropriate for what I want my library to be, let alone what it is at this stage.
>poseur
>a person who habitually pretends to be something he is not
My entire post was about transparently noting my sources, the position I come to the thread from, the extent of my collection. Not only that but my tone is that of advice-seeking. If anything that is the complete opposite of poseur.
Very ditzy. Very sad.
I like this one. :)
What's the EP/single with the forest image?
>I know his work and I don't think even Madvillainy would be appropriate for what I want my library to be, let alone what it is at this stage.
what the fuck does that even mean?
It means that if you look at what is already in the library and have a go at trying to come up with a criteria that would extend the collection following the same theme, you wouldn't think to add Madvillainy to it at this point.
jesus, you're such a fucking tryhard. take music for what it is and shut the fuck up.
i cannot fucking stand people like you.
why does your library have a "theme"?
Because he's a tryhard faggot
nice
also
>people actually falling for the obvious bait in this thread
>metallica
bernard xolotl - return of the golden mean
circuit des yeux - overdue
ptose production - early recordings 79-83
>>metallica
elaborate
yeah and i wanted a tryhard answer
Deathrow - Deception Ignored
nice, also +++ for todd rundgren
>take music for what it is
what the fuck does that even mean?
Because there are elements in music that I prefer to listen to and I thought it would be cool to build a library around those. Just to be clear I don't mean "theme" in a programmatic or pictorial sense.
Hardly bait when I seem to be the only one following the recommendation to judge in the OP.
I find this banal.
There is something pathetic about these.
There is something edgy to this. Not necessarily a bad thing.
Almost comically neurotic.
>comically neurotic
wdhmbt
>>>metallica
>elaborate
>Hardly bait when I seem to be the only one following the recommendation to judge in the OP.
and im hardly convinced when 5 of the 8 albums in your "chart" are scaruffis 1,2 in jazz and 1,2,3 in rock
if you aren't bait i apologize but at first glance it seems obvious famalam
haha thats a nice argument amirite xD
>There is something pathetic about these.
only a small handful, the ones who make pathos their program
Soul-Junk - 1956
Disco Inferno
Metal is for children.
>Metal is for children.
>anime reaction face in same post
it's like you wanted it to be ironic lad
>and im hardly convinced when 5 of the 8 albums in your "chart" are scaruffis 1,2 in jazz and 1,2,3 in rock
Did you read the text in the post which accompanied the chart? Even if you somehow think it's deplorable to make such a post, the post itself was transparent. Bait doesn't announce itself as bait.
...
I didn't mean in the sense of pathos.
There is much which is juvenile about this selection.
Looking for more stuff like $uicideboy$, Bones, and Spooky Black. Also, any recs on electronic shoegaze like Sweet Trip would be appreciated.
well that makes it perfectly clear what you meant

Everything on that chart is rock music, if you define rock as that post-war popular music genre which absorbed every other genre and had endless permutations (subgenres).

sup Sup Forums, first time poster here. migrating from 8/pol/. anyone listen to instrumental guitar?
no
May I ask you a serious question? What is the appeal to a band like my chemical romance? So many normies seem to like it, but I don't why at all. It even isn't that poppy to me.
i used to listen to you fred, but obviously i grew out of that. now i listen to van halen, buckethead, dream theater and such. not all instrumental.
...
TEENAGERS SCARE
THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF ME
>Hades Archer - For The Diabolical Ages
I never heard this one before, it sounds pretty good.
their qualities are pretty obvious though? being theatrical, emotive and catchy/singable all thanks to Gerard, with very immediate punk riffs and at times flashy soloing taken from the likes of iron maiden. it's the combination of those things that makes it though, basically using a sense of grandeur to deliver confessional subject matter (on 3C and TBP, at least). titus andronicus and abacus do that too, from the same chart, or kanye
nah listen to their penis ep
Yeah, I like how it's something between riffier thrash and Blasphemy so there are familiar elements but it's not exactly a ripoff.
Penis Metal is great, but FTDA is their magnum opus.
