pls bump

weezer was better

At what? Having practically nothing in common?

Is there Really that much to talk about the band?

way to shit on other people's taste, child

yes
hence the thread

I like weezer plenty. maybe I'm missing something.

They Made 2 albums and a single EP.
How can you make a general about them

I have been obsessed with duster for a couple of years now--first discovered them when I was around 16, now 20. They are definitely one of my favorite bands of all time, I have listened to everything they have put out all the lesser know lps and compilation albums and so on.

Stratosphere, to me, is a perfect masterpiece. Everything flows well and keeps to a theme, i.e space themed, lo fi, droney indie rock. Contemporary movement definitely has some amazing songs--cooking, the breakup suite, me and the birds, etc. But, overall it just didn't have the same overall feeling associated to it for me, so I prefer stratosphere.

But, anyway everyone should definitely check out the other stuff they have put out.1975, apex, trance-like, transmission, flux, christmas, dust, also here's a rare cassette by them: on the dodge that I really like

youtube.com/watch?v=fOc_qDcegR0

and one of my favorite songs by them that I found on a compilation album, capsule losing contact.

Fair point. Let's meet up later in that dank Jason Aldean thread.

I do love Capsule Losing Contact. I should try to get it added to that MEGA link.

Reminder

reddit.com/r/indieheads/comments/4t89k5/the_rumors_are_true_theres_a_new_duster_album_in/

it could be happening

also, who sings most of the songs?

They all still make music, but they all live in different states. That would probably have to change for anything new to ever happen.

Clay did pretty much definitively say "no" to any reissues, which sucks. Reunions, he won't address.

Good question. I always though it was Clay on everything, but he said on Stereobird that Dove sings like half their songs and no-one seems to know.

For some reason cooking brings me such pangs of nostalgia. It's hard to explain

any of you have a link to the entire discog (including eps and singles) in mp3?

P A S T E B I N

who is who? (i know which one is jason)

Dove has curly hair. Clay looks sad.

best of each official release

topical solution
cooking
want no light to shine

yes?

one of my fav bands. all their stuff is great imo

how good is 'Rarities' tho

kinda get an unknown mortal orchestra vibe from some of the tracks

i really love me and the birds

would definitely say The Twins/Romantica over topical solution

prob my favourite track of theirs

the voice cracks get me every time

on stratosphere it's tied between constellations, inside out, and stratosphere.

I agree with cooking though, amazing song.

and things were mostly ghosts is my favorite off of 1975

Constellations. Or The Twins/Romantica
The Phantom Facing Me. Cooking is great, too. ...and Me and The Birds.

But Jesus fucking Christ, Want No Light To Shine...

So I have these massive astronomy binoculars. A few weeks ago, I drove out to the middle of rural-fucking-nowhere, and set them up. Perfect night, no Moon, no clouds, had my headphones on, first thing I played was 1975. No Light's piano outro always gives me chills, but that night it was fucking surreal. By far my favorite Duster song.

inside out
cooking
irato

really into this one rn youtube.com/watch?v=w-LAf8Qie-I

is cooking GOAT?

yea t b h

it makes me think of the past

unrecovery tho

topical solution is better imo but cooking and queen of hearts come close

The Christmas EP is magnificent

Do you guys like their side projects? Helvetia is really nice, but Eiafuawn's album "Birds in the ground" blew me away

youtube.com/watch?v=f6B_-xxgjk0
youtube.com/watch?v=M5ZDUdp7L0U

On Stratosphere it's definitely either Topical Solution, Constellations, or Echo, Bravo.

Ain't Helvetia part of Duster? Just to know

I really like heading through the door

anyone have a link to this?

mega.nz/#!gw1VxCDD!p6NSuvoQ82g-wN2LFamQoYXW8qdhTsygPb9cL5SUFc8

Helvetia is Jason's side project. Dove is an on again/off again member as well.

Was this never put on on CD? Is 192kbps the highest non-vinyl rip in existence?

I hate vinyl rips :(

Everyone who loves Duster needs to check this out

Earth Moon Transit is my favorite from Stratosphere, I think it should have been the alum closer.

I would suck a thousand dicks for a reissue of their discography

very good band, whole label for this is good actually, but contemporary movement is WAY better than stratosphere

Listening to this for the first time rn and it's pretty good.

stratosphere is clearly the superior album.

they have more than that
and they also have side projects

what are the best Helvetia albums

it's so hard to pick one off stratosphere but topical solution was my favorite for so fucking long, so probably that one

this is so fucking good. The drums on Slide the Needle are so incredible, holy shit

Cluster > Duster

Calm is the best side project.

For anyone needing an extra reason to listen to this, the whole record was recorded live during an extremely audible thunderstorm.

fuck off weeaboo cunt, I blocked you on last.fm for a reason. go listen to denpa
