I always had a soft spot for New Order: youtube.com
>these haircuts
kek are these smooth jazz fags even trying?
here's how you do it

Kim Wilde looked so fine then...
Where should I start?
This Ladytron song is from 2003, but it has all the right New Wave elements: youtube.com
This is a properly amazing song.
Kim Wilde is cute!
CUTE!
Depeche Mode, New Order, Propaganda, Alphaville.
There are some similarities between New Wave and Synthpop. However, New Order is more New Wave and Depeche Mode is more Synthpop.
Some Eurythmics for the masses: youtube.com
In doubt, check the musicians' haircuts.
If it looks like something out of a German expressionist film, then it's doubtlessly New Wave.
And let's not forget New Wave's macho industrial cousin
classic
Not always. e.g. Tears For Fears looked quite normal.
Tranxen 200 were pretty rad.
Extremely clever lyrics too.
Is there anything in a similar vein that's newer that you guys are into? I totally slept on Total Control's album Henge Beat when it came out. Just listened to it today for the first time and I love it.
If Suicide's s/t was the hypothesis to the 80s
If the 80s music was the test results of this scientific experiment
Then Henge Beat is like the conclusion section of it
I swear to God, New Wave and Synthpop are some of the most ear pleasing genres. Hard to not like them.

Which one do you guys prefer? For me SFTBC is the clear favorite.
Well it's usually pretentious as fuck too, so you have to reach that point in your life when you're LOOKING for self-important melodramatic solemn cool floating hair in the wind music. And half of the time, the answer to that will be Heavy Metal.
So... it's Italo-disco New Wave then?
youtube.com
been waiting all day for the new wave thread
Metal elitist swine here.
SfTBC is one of my favorite albums of all time. No filler. Outstanding piece of work.

Love this Punk/New Wave hybrid tbch.
I thoroughly enjoyed this album
Ayyy does Blondie count
Anyone remembers Missing Persons, the poppier Blondie?
She's certainly in one of the best New Wave groups of all time.
SFTBC is sooooo good.
youtube.com
She sang for Zappa's back up band.
God, she was a fucking fox in her prime
Of course. Blondie are and were one of the best New Wave bands. youtube.com
Debbie was so hot then.
Jesus Christ, my dick
Agreed. Believe it or not, Debbie posed for Playboy before her career with Blondie. I can't post the pics for obvious reasons; Google is your "friend".

most attractive woman in musc
shitty aesthetics, remove that pic from your hard drive

Blondie's OK, but Kim had the best hair and the best fashions.
Kim Wilde has heart breaker aesthetics.
that's cause she's got that tiny hint of coarseness in her face and that very slight punk edge in her voice.
Still, Cambodia is one of the most mesmerizingly solemn and delicate New Wave songs. I could easily envision it covered by a goth neoclassical project like Dark Sanctuary or someshit

>tumblr trash
Shame that you don't dig her look
>tfw my dad calls New Wave "Big 80's music"
>fucking loves all of it
>find an old milk crate full of dozens of old 80s albums
>most of them are New Wave
>along with a bunch of Rippingtons albums for some reason
I love her haircut.
Shame on her.
Especially for doing that winged eyeliner meme.
Your dad is a national treasure
it's pretty boring
lacks fluffiness
did someone say New Wave?
God that voice
So sultry
Stained Class is their best album.
It looks good on her. Here's a more normal pic with Tiff. And my fave video with her: youtube.com
>inb4 Alice Glass
She started in 2005, before CC even released their debut.
Please stop posting her, lad.
SFTBC is GOAT new wave, no contest.
WRONG
Turbo DOES have some new wave influences
Does this count as New Wave
It's good, in any case
Only worthwhile 00s New Wave band were The Sounds.
You're right. Unleashed in the East is better, but it's not a studio album.
pretty good
Does Sup Forums consider The B-52's, Talking Heads, or Oingo Boingo new wave or art rock?
New Wave. I don't think art rock is a genre, just a description of the performance.
Best New Wave band ever coming through.
whoops, wrong pic
Talking heads best new wave by far tbqh
The Cars were radio safe. Candified new wave and insipid lyrics drooling over the Yoni. We had content and that's why we were the pionners who got scalped. But we remained relevant, the Cars did not.

Relevancy =/= Legacy
The after effects of The Cars debut and Candy-O can still be heard in pop rock today. Sort of like the Weezer of the 70s/80s. Two great influential albums from years ago that are still talked about. No one really remembers the rest like Panorama, Heartbreak City, Raditude, and Make Believe because they went to shit.
Devo is guilty of this too. Have your heard their newer albums?
regardless of whether or not oingo boingo are new wave i think we can all agree how good they are
She was in her thirties by the the time Blondie was founded/made it big. I still think that impressive given how god-tier she looked in those days.
>those abs
Someone clearly worked-out
