New song is heavy and dark and heavy and dark and heavy and dark.
If you're a fan of the jazzy-vinyl hip-hop aesthetic, you should check this guy out. His beats are smooth.

Remember when people used to rec and give feedback and contribute to discussion in these threads to help strengthen the Sup Forums community instead of just posting their own music and pissing off?

the issue is generally that feedback takes time and people generally dont even want feedback... even with as much as they ask for it.
i have not once on this board given feedback and felt like it was worth my own time.
as far as recs go, honestly the vast majority of people in this thread are not making particularly high quality music, and the people who are worth listening to should be obvious to any regulars.
with that being said i think ill start posting recs again with my own posts, but next thread, not this one.
recs are a good way for people without a fanbase to be lifted up by people who do have a fanbase, but i mean like, my fanbase is pretty tiny anyway so it hardly matters.
This
agreed. 95% of the time i listen to other peoples shit, it was a complete waste of my time. people need to develop their music and produce better shit before just making a song in a couple hours on logic, throwing it on SC, and asking people to listen to it.
Hey guys, had to start a new alais and lost all my following -.- just uploaded my first tune on the new alias. I'll be returning all feedback on soundcloud Wave

I have some timing issues I need to fix, but I thought I'd throw this up. It's one of my first attempts. Just wondering if you guys can see where I'm trying to go with this.
The main reason why I don't do feedback as often as I used to is due to the mixed responses. You have the people who don't even acknowledge the critiques, the people who get defensive and/or even act as if I'm a bully due to my honest feedback, and the people who actually keep the criticism in mind and try to fix/develop their sound (which is honestly kind of rare). In the end though, it almost never feels worth it.

So, here's a preview/demo of a song I've been working for the past couple of days. It's called "Velvet Snare" at the moment, but there's a possibility of my changing the title. Any thoughts?

Some of it's a bit metal for my tastes but the softer parts are fucking gorgeous
The work you put into these songs really shows.
This. I always rec my favorites of the thread even when I'm not able to give any feedback or contribute to the discussion.
Nice dubs! I really like this. I think the reggae aspect could stand out more if you
A. Sampled reggae music for an authentic steel drum sound
B. or EQ'd some of your drums to have more of a steel drum sound
this is cool. A little quiet though
Production is tight. the bars are standard.
I like the concept, although a lot of your songs sound kind of same-y
oh shit the singularity

from my experience its almost always better to just finish a song, or be 90% done with it before you ask others to hear it.
ive shown my unfinished stuff to people a thousand times over and every time i feel like i just need to finish it and show them again because they arent hearing what i see in the incomplete version.
just jump in there and finish it up, otherwise you might just get stuck on it. i end up doing that to myself too much.
I used to do that. It's not a great way to do music.
Yeah, I'm pretty much the same way, though I have gotten better with finishing most of what I start. A good example of a song that I never finished was "Voler". I uploaded a preview of the song months ago, and I still haven't finished it due to it being out of place with the music I've been recently working on.
With "Velvet Snare", I would say it's around 75% complete at this point.

Sup guys, I just released another album
soundcloud.com
This is a conceptual synthwave/vaporwave album based on videogame consoles (and a couple of games) from the old Segas, the N64 and the Gameboy all the way up to the Wii and the Xbox 360.
I made this as a tribute to my childhood, and for all the nostalgic folks out there to enjoy. I hope you like it.
The album is free to download, but you can support me by buying it if you want to, it would mean a lot to me (I need actual gear asap)
