Bathory - Hammerheart
>Viking Metal

Earth - Earth 2
>Drone Metal

Alcest - Le Secret
>Blackgaze

Chuck Person's Eccojams
>Vaporwave

Viper - You'll Cowards
>Cloud Rap

Black Flag - My War
>Sludge Metal

That's all I got and people will definitely debate this.

>memes

Black Sabbath singlehandedly started heavy metal, doom metal and stoner rock.

Also

Blasphemy - Blood Upon the Altar
>War Metal/Bestial Black Metal

Carcass - Reek of Petrifaction
>Goregrind

>chillwave

that album pretty much started metal as well

>petri

The absolute madmen

nah there were earlier examples of what later became known as metal

>Viper - You'll Cowards
>>Cloud Rap
not the bassedgod..

clouddead started cloud rap tho

>pointing out my autism

>Viper - You'll Cowards
>>Cloud Rap
don't indulge him

kek

You are objectivity wrong. Viper invented cloud rap.

Modal Jazz

>Math Rock
>Post-Hardcore

>Black Metal

what tracks would you consider post-hardcore? I'm curious, I've only really given TMR a listen once.

It's bullshit

fug

>Shitty music that "Patricians" like so they can call people pleb who see through their lies.
Really really awful.

>rap metal

the singles started cool jazz

get lost

Slayer
Because Slayer is its own fucking genre

this

what a band

:^)

You could make an argument for Lysol by Melvins for Drone Metal

Sludge Metal

this. Hung Bunny is so fucking heavy

He might've been the first one to make a cloud rap album but he didn't "start" it. He was too obscure to influence anyone until he started getting blogged about in 2013. By then cloud rap was passé and since then his meme legacy has easily surpassed his musical one

cry baby acceptance music

...

there was drone way before earth 2 idiot

This and eccojams were the first vaporwave albums I guess, you could argue music has the right to children by boc is a spiritual predecessor

Faith No More was first

>MHtRtC
>proto-vaporwave
"no"
I could understand you saying that for Hell Interface and Old Tunes Vol. 2 though

>Not actually putting down >shoegaze

If people don't know they're ignorant, I'm not about to spell it out for them.

What genre did this start, exactly? Candy Claws didn't exactly invent dream pop.

note the word "metal" after drone you fucking tard

Vaporwave isn't unique enough on sound alone to pinpoint where it started. It unabashedly steals other genres. There are BoC and even MF Doom instrumentals that are vaporwave-esque, and all in all its just a stylized version of smooth jazz

That said, Eccojams Vol 1 is definitely the first album that had a fully-formed vaporwave aesthetic and editing style.

This analysis of vaporwave origins is satanic dawg

trip-hop

I was putting it down in response to Loveless

>implying adding metal to the end of drone changes the fundamental elements of the genre
fucking idiot

Folk rock & jangle pop.

you could say that to literally any of the things in this thread.

like >implying adding rock to the end of folk changes the fundamental elements of the genre

or >implying adding stoner to the beginning of rock changes the fundamental elements of the genre

the end of Veterans Day Poppy dude

Symphonic Rock

You could also say that this and pic related started Prog as well

Black metal. Yes "first wave" existed, but the genre is fully formed on this release with nearly all of its trademarks.

Industrial

How the fuck is it supposed to be post to a genre that didn't even exist yet? I can agree with math rock to a degree, but calling it post-hardcore is ridiculous

what gave you the incentive to be salty just now tho?

You could, but you'd be wrong

my taste in music was forever changed from hearing this the first time

literally name one

I mean it sounds like 90s post-hardcore, what's not to understand?

Post-rock coexists with rock, post-punk coexists with punk, e.t.c, it's just a genre name to describe the sound

youtube.com/watch?v=uBYPPjLJO5U

Um, wrong album user, that came out in 2008...

Industrial Metal

Leng Tch'e came before it anyway you reet

Yeah those covers actually all look the same. I was looking for "The 2nd Annual Report" and accidentally downloaded that one.

I gotchu senpai, Throbbing Gristle is god-tier though

People always try to find a ME FIRST example of metal to beat Sabbath, but it's never even one tenth as heavy as that band's eponymous track. Shit, that Genesis tune is less heavy than You Really Got Me.

>doom metal
when?

It's genre is called shit

1910 : music starts

youtube.com/watch?v=p4EVj76htYs

May 1982

1983

>ambient
Ambient 1: Music for Airports

>actually good ambient
Ambient 4: On Land

this is stupid. clouddead doesn't even sound like cloud rap

Not that guy but arguably Electric Funeral off of Paranoid is at the very least proto-doom. Could maybe even make the case that Planet Caravan was kind of an ambient doom sort of inspiration.

ska-punk?

youtube.com/watch?v=ok8eeJXllUE
another one

Sounds like The Who.

>not the melvins

youtube.com/watch?v=lY4zT86yWWw

sick meme

>Viking Metal
>Genre
K E K

Venom senpai

And Anthrax did it before that.

not really

> Surf Punk

even though this didn't "start it", this single's literally called metal rap and came out in 1984

dead kennedys tho

immediately what I thought of but I don't recall any overtly surf songs and I'm almost completely unfamiliar with the cramps

NEET-pop

SPLATTER ROCK !
> grew up out in Seattle during 80s - 90s

>implying

love them but they did not do anything that was not already been done. they just copied . added a punk look. . trust me . I'm an way too old to be on here old punk rocker. seen them many times live during the 80,s in Chicago / Indy / Ohio.

I have a good one for ya.. get ready to screen cap...
Ever hear a band called S.N.F.U. ?

sorry buzzed.. the singer was named MR.CHI PIG.best early 80's skate punk band. sure J F A but these guy were better.

Hypnagogic pop

so about 3 months ago , come home from work fucked up downloaded this documentary about Mr. Chi Pig .when he got older he had real mental break down.. blah blah blah.

Now give me a second to get time stamp ready..

So like in the screen cap I posted I'm in bed hitting bolw and dude starts talking about going on tour again in 87 . 25.08 into movie this picture showed up.
