Literally anything Steven Wilson has ever made

Bright Eyes - Fevers and Mirrors

...

SO ITS NOT

LOADED STADIUMS

OR BALLPARKS

Jandek - discography
Royal Trux - Twin Inifnitives
Joy Division - Closer

AND WE'RE NOT

>bump

this album has some pretty sad lyrics even tho the instrumentals are kinda upbeat

pretty sad is not suicide-inducing depressing

>Implying Closer is with all the pop elements still more melancholic than Unknown Pleasures

>bump

...

Well, here's this classic

If I listen to this when I'm in a good mood, I'm guaranteed to feel like shit the rest of the day.

...

...

This

gris - il était une forêt

this will fuck your shit up senpai

goddamn this is good, it's almost on the level of Magnolia Electric Co.

...

aureate gloom by of montreal

does "pathetic sack of shit whining over a girl" count? this album is a bummer (though i love it)

yeah senpai, anything that matches my existential misery

This

Incredibly heartwrenching and personal

...

Isn't that that guy from American Football and Cap'n Jazz?

Yeah it's his solo project and it's really great

cool, really digging it so far

"wild sage" and "in corolla" the opening and closing tracks are usually what i listen to when i try not to kill myself
being trapped in a state of constant futility interlaced with religious hallucinations and wanted to be absorbed into the sea after realizing how pointless everything is, to start anew, respectively

youtube.com/watch?v=_MaLJGYrjDw
utilizes secondary dominants which to me is a really lonely sounding function

Blonde Redhead. Especially Misery is a Butterfly and Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons. Whenever I hear For the Damaged Coda I want to cut my own head off, but in a beautiful way.

KIDS IN SWINGSETS

ON THE BLACKTOP

specifically these two

definitely not the best suggestion in this thread, but it's there.

also, going through literally the exact same situation right now, this song is hitting me hard.

I hope you start to feel better soon my man. :)

I was going to say this too.

The wall is the perfect one.

youtube.com/watch?v=TRS9Bz0IH54 It's either bittersweet or depressing, pretty much the ultimate song for getting sad after realising you've lived the happiest part of your life imo

...

Hurt - Johnny Cash or Nine Inch Nails

Wil Wagner - Laika

Beat me to it.

masterpiece

i feel you man

this is honestly one of the most depressive albums i've ever heard.

try this:

The final track is amazing, almost uplifting after the harrowing journey this album takes you on. The middle-pair -- Ring the Bell and Cross the Road, Molina -- are basically one song, and some of the most unsettling lyrics I've heard in a folk album.

Goon by Tobias Jesso Jr

...

sounds like post-high blinding depression and drab wallpaper

this album feels like a suicide note put to music
that one is really good too but I prefer Hinterkaifeck because it's not as in your face about it

pic related in underrated t b h

...

swans - white light from the mouth of infinity
angels of light - how i loved you
carissa's wierd - songs about leaving
i hate myself - 1997 s/t
mineral - the power of failing
the khayembii communique - s/t

I feel like I'm suffocating whenever listening to The Angelic Process.

Great album. I remember the first time I heard it I was completely shocked.
Also an incredible album. Party Song fucks me up every time.
Grief is possibly my favorite song of all time.
>I prefer Hinterkaifeck
Same honestly. It's so gentle but depressing.

Frank Sinatra - No One Cares

>widey regarded to be his saddest, most melancholy album
>could bring a tear to a needle's eye

Piggybacking off of I Don't Like Shit by Earl, i remembered his mini-ep he made for his mom or something. He made it when he was at his absolute lowest, and it is pretty depressing and sad

Prepare to shed tears

This has some really sad tracks, although not the full album is depressing.

it is to an extent

Came here to post this one
Depressing as fuck desu

i got a copy signed last night, i am pretty sure i was also the only one to buy a copy

...

i posted it earlier itt

most depressing swans song is objectively God Damn the Sun, but Failure, Love Will Save You, Blind, the Most Unfortunate Lie, etc is still nice and soul-crushing

...

...

What's this album called

...

This is surprisingly good and matches your description

Reverse search.

Perfume genius - put ur back n to it

...

Sorry. - Patron Saint of Bridge Burners

Most beautiful sadness.

Bryter later is the album I recommend to depressed people because it's Nick drake trying to make uplifting pop and there's something moving about a super bummed out guy who commits suicide making something so bright and beautiful

the ending of dramamine by car seat headrest really hits in the feel

Fuck off Will/Will's dickrider

Lucky bastard

Was going to post this.

Also, Mezzanine. When im depressed, the urge to listen to Mezzanine creeps on me, i go for it and it (as expected) makes me even more depressed.

Brave little abacus

It made me cry. Depressing as hell and I wish i never heard it but its great.

this really gets me

surprised this one hasn't been mentioned

Carrie & Lowell - Sufjan Stevens

I'm surprised this wasn't posted before. Depressing as shit

About the only Eno I listen to on a regular basis.
fuck yeah

>hospital beds

>Sorry. - Patron Saint of Bridge Burners
interesting choice, wouldn't call pat the bunny depressing tho
only depressing thing around that is the fact he's stopped doing punk stuff

>I'm bound to your bedside, your eulogy singer

>like before you've got no interest in the life you live when you're awake

...

this
Its really depressing to know this album exists

>As the priest got up to speak
The assembly craved relief
But he himself had given up
