I don't really get scaruffi's reviews. The only time he gives an opinion is if he strongly likes it or doesn't like it. Reading many of his reviews he just sortof describes the songs track by track while giving very little of his own opinion.

His "reviews" are an extension of his huge collection of notes. That's why some rock albums just get lengthy descriptions of their sonic qualities, why jazz albums tend to have a summary of players, their contributions, etc. The stuff he has more to say about are the ones he has a strong opinion on.
