what's some "heavy" prog, like pic related?
Heavy mostly in the sense of dark if that makes sense. Dark, heavy distorted guitar, deep basslines, hard drums.
I can only think of this album
no metal

Hawkwind
Most psych prog from the 1970s
Use your big boy pants and search "heavy psych" amd go on a blogspot journey
Thrak
but red is not heavy psich
don't remeber hawkwind being that different from hard rock/deep purple, but I could be wrong it's been a while since I last listened to them
Van Der Graaf Generator is very heavy from time to time. Probably not exactly what you're looking for, but definitely dark and sorta heavy.
Magma - Udu Wudu, especially the song De Futura.
Most Rush albums excluding albums from 1982-1991.
De Futura definitely has moments that make me think of King Crimson. I think maybe some math rock would scratch your itch? What King Crimson was doing in the mid 70s was unlike almost anything at that time or before.
Yeah they are quite heavy, but waay to happy
when I tried zeuhl many years ago I couldn't stand it. I'll try again I guess
>heavy prog
progarchives.com
Porcupine Tree, Tool, Riverside, Rush, The Mars Volta, Haken and Pain of Salvation fit into that
I suggest Listening to Grace under pressure, it's a pretty dark album
I..I just don't want to hear Rush again
High Tide - Sea Shanties
>heavy psych, prog rock
Guitar + violin = this: youtube.com
Lunatic Soul
The closest thing to heirs of King Crimson is math rock, especially Japanese math rock
I love Lunatic Soul but it seems closer to post rock than prog, at least the latest album.
try some jap zeuhl, user
No, but this actually is pretty close to Red.
user those bands are all shit
seeing as we have a thread with red as the image, can people recommend albums that people who love red would also love?
user you are a fucking faggot
That's literally what this thread is about
The Fripp himself says that later KC was inspired by Tool
My nigga
where did they touch you?
thanks buddy
