Very strong rec on further listening...really great OP. that slightly detuned lead instrument that comes after the speech sample....marvelous, adds to the gloom.

not my cup of tea, but p good. could use some more low end imo, mix sounds kind of trebly. but maybe thats what you were going for. nice song though!
not a big trap guy (so sick of triplet flow raps), but i actually like the production, good stuff

lovin that artwork. im not a huge fan of this style of music, however, my friend loves this kind of stuff. ill be sure to send him your stuff. i feel like if i was into this kind of music, i would love it.
damn this is good
Could have been more vapor really....didn't get the 80's vibe I wanted...all the same, pretty good.
I'm still kind of new to these threads, what does "rec" mean?

Good stuff as always man, rec
I really like the vibe of these tracks, especially sweet sweet relief
Wow this is super unique, not what I expected at all. I love how powerful the drums are and the stretched out vocal samples sound crazy tight

Feedback:
I really dig "I miss you, so, so much" If this is being played and recorded deff a rec.
Deff a rec, the writing is pretty solid
10/10 cant think of anything bad about it. You got a new fan.
"Fresh air is good for you" is really good, the drum mixing doesnt clash too much with the guitar sample and everything goes well together.
Fuck yeah, the 808s are crazy on this. Lofi and ruff as fuck
Armin van buuren - burned with desire Remix
>ambient, experimental, whatever
Just put very bit work into this. It's just a concept at this point..
Does this have potential?
thanks boys

rec....very nice guitar tone.
I really like this so far, trance and ambient go so well with what you're going for. The hihat rolls in the beginning could be a bit more subtle until the kick comes in. Overall is bretty gud
I love your stuff man. What Synth did you use for the Nostalgia EP stuff?
Any suggestion for someone with obviously less experience how to get on your level regarding Synthesizing sounds and mixing&mastering?
Improving my synthesizer skills is the most difficult part for me. How did you get to where you are right now? Any suggestions for tutorials or whatever?
listened to The Box. The percussion at the beginning is killer, and the transition from drums to the almost kiddish sound caught me off guard (in a good way)
lovin the drop. great work on that man
actually 12/10 damn
You got a future in music business. Send out some demos
≧◡≦ thank you guys, I never really get feedback so this is nice to hear.
In regards to your question about what synths I use and how to git gud, I use alot of free VSTs actually. Like 90% are free and the other 10% are Serum and Sylenth1. I mostly use a super fun synth called "Synth1" for alot of my shit and its super versatile and has ALOT of presets available online. Ontop of that I emulate alot of soundfonts from N64 games like OOT, Super Mario 64, and other games like Earthbound, and Final Fantasy and use those in a majority of my music. (Shits free and sounds really cool when going for retro sounding synths) But I'd start with sound design tutorials on youtube that teach you the basics of sound design in VSTs like massive, serum, and sylenth1 along with tutorials on mixing. Other than that its just work, work, work dude. I've been working at least 2 hours a day for the past 4 years on music (when i'm not at school or work) and just that alone helps a lot
gah damn this is good. what an awesome little tune. i have a feeling you'll end up somewhere big.

I will check out Synth1. I use Massive at the moment but can't get too much out of it. My sounds always sound pretty same. I'm gonna watch more tutorials about a variety of different sounds.
>I emulate alot of soundfonts from N64 games like OOT, Super Mario 64, and other games like Earthbound, and Final Fantasy and use those in a majority of my music.
"Emulating soundfonts" means to recreate the kind of sound of these games? Or did you mean you sample by them?
Your work over the past 4 years has definitely paid out. I can hear you put a lot of work into getting where you are right now. Keep it up!
Also your style, the structure of your songs, has something unique.
On a couple of these the first guy rapping isn't me. On the latest track, Great Gatsby Freestyle, it's me first.

Original song coming as soon as I get the guest verse in. Fucker has taken two weeks and I even ghostwrote it and sent him a reference track. Song is in desperate need of a voice other than my own to break things up tho
Feedback appreciated since I'm fairly new to this. Will reciprocate on SC or in here or wherever. Will probably come through and do some reviews tomorrow morning.
reviews:
moody af, needs something sonically to give it more character than just the piano. some noise or something.
I just hear you fucking around but once the beat kicks in it's kinda nice. Needs something a little warmer to balance it out.
Lyrics pretty cliche and meh, production much better than would expect in a SC thread. Thoroughly enjoyed just from a sonic perspective.
Love the sampling. Warm as hell. Great work. Lush.
Oh and by the way. Did you mean you use presets?
I really try to not use any presets at all at any point since I feel like it is not gonna get me forward in my "learning journey" but its pretty difficult to always get the exact sound i want on my own.
>"Emulating soundfonts" means to recreate the kind of sound of these games? Or did you mean you sample by them?
I guess "emulating" wasn't the best choice of words. I use Sforzando which plays the soundfonts that come directly from the .rom file. So i'm not like recreating the patches in massive or serum or running a preset that recreates the sounds from the game, i'm using like the raw midi instruments that they use in game to route midis through while in FL Studio. (I hope this clears things up)
I try not to use presets as much as possible but I do recommend taking presets, and breaking them down and sort of "backwards engineering" them. This will help you SO MUCH when you're trying to learn how people go about creating their own synths and basses because you can dissect and work with the preset and learn how they made the sound. Im sure there are lots of tutorials explaining this sort of thing better than I can. But good luck man, its a long journey but its worth it

ok I definitely agree on the sonic thing, I'm just a noob at mixing etc soo yea
sometimes if I play my piano really loud and hold the sustain pedal I get this really cool sonic sound, but don't know how to reproduce it on logic pro
Definitely Unique. Chill vibe.
Very happy sounding. Almost sounds like The Cure
once again very unique with a chill vibe to it.
not bad. Singer is pretty good and so is the concept. I feel like the synth and the drums could have been cranked up a little

desu your raps arent good and but they arent bad
the music production is top notch
haha i dont get the pic but im really fucking high so idk
atleast someone called me out on my bullshit tho thanks dad
in the aspect of learning how your DAW works thats a good idea to keep fucking around with it, but i think forcing yourself to create and post something like that every day could be a bad idea. quality over quantity.
but try listening for tips or new things that some of your favorite artists have put in their work and you could bounce off of those ideas, idk just throwin that out there
what im hearing now definitely isnt bad but there are some where i think it could use a little more ya know?
gonna follow you to watch your progress im excited for more

Dubstep, would love some feedback. Returning all feedback on soundcloud

sounds likes its been done before, not refreshing or exciting
dubstep by itself has pretty much been played out and exhausted
but the quality and talent is there, just if it were applied in a different newer direction you would have 1 happy camper over here :)
You're a lup

you say you want feedback you got some feedback, whether positive or negative or both
cant handle a little constructive criticism it sounds like, maybe you shouldnt be doing this in the first place.
next time just ignore it!
i love dubstep
me too man it used to be fkn crazy when it first came out!
my point was i feel like ive heard so much and so many different variations of it that what he or you recently produced didnt seem very different
its not an insult it doesnt mean its bad just step it up!
cute
lol i didnt write that comment, thats not me, i am the one who produced it and i appreciate your feedback :), got a soundcloud i can listen to? Dont want people thinking that comment was me

I'm a sucker for anything lo-fi and this is really siqq. your sampling is super sharp (no pun intended) and your production really utilises the low fidelity aesthetic in a really skillful way. The beat also doesn't overstay its welcome which is a skill within itself. Would love to hear someone spitting over this.

This is the 2nd track I ever finished, I know it's still pretty shitty but I guess you have to start somewhere.. Some stuff I am particularly unsure about:
Is the melody starting at around 48s too corny? What about the space in between the two "hooks", so from about 1:05 to 1:35, is it used well? Also this is the first time I actually mixed and mastered a track, how did I do?
any feedback is appreciated!! I'll return feedback

Just released a new Trap/Dubstep fusion track!

Some of the beats are indeed from YouTube or other such low quality sources. These were just practice freestyles desu. I'm a novice at production and I don't want to waste my top bars on remixes. But yeah, thanks for complimenting the raps. As soon as I get the guest verse in I'm releasing a legit original pre-written song song.
I'll review you when I get home and have access to my headphones. I promise m8.
