Hi man, sorry for the super late reply.

There is, I think, three guitar tracks, one on left, one on right. And one in the middle (mono). I get a pretty good "stereo/binaural" effect that way. I also faced the microphone away from the guitar so it caught more of the "room" and less of the guitar.

Listened to some of Mid Day. I liked the intro and I could kind of see where it was developing, but you cut it off way too early imo. Maybe extending it and letting develop for another minute or two would've be awesome.
Breaking the Bones: I'm not a fan of the vocals. I liked the dissonant start with the string? woodwind? instrument but my captivation with the track didn't last. Keehauled: The bird chirping transitioning into the gorgeous piano pulled me in. I can see a vignette of black and white tape films of families and lovers at the beach being played to the music of this track.

So overall, I liked some of what you had and I think there are some highlights for sure, but consistency seemed hold the music back from reaching full potential. Keep working at it I'm sure you'll only get better!

Very trippy and submerged atmosphere on Fade Pt. 2. I like the clean, bouncy, pronounced bass juxtaposed with the reverb heavy guitars and the other drowned out, ambiguous sounds. I would've love to hear it develop and transition but the track essentially establishes a groove, builds on that until it reaches a "full" sound then it's over. Cool stuff but I wanted more!

Great stuff. I've heard this track before in a different thread yesterday so I don't have much to say. I like the overall vibe of the track, I dig both the sax sample and the detuned vocal choices. I'm not really a fan of vaporwave so I'd recommend you to anyone with the same sentiments.

Season 3 was pretty good. The instrumentation is pretty standard trap but it doesn't really need to be super innovative or overly experimental and I like the vocal sample.Very Little Words has got some interesting instrumental ideas, with the square synth and the grimey bass but the vocals kill it for me. I don't like who is "rapping" over the track at all. Cake: the synths sound like they were taken from Trap Queen. Vocals kind of ruin it again for me.

Not my type of music. But I enjoyed the synth work a lot. You've got some good progression throughout the track too that keeps things fresh, with no part overstaying its welcome. Changing timbres, tempo, instruments taking the forefront of the listener's attention, and smooth transitions. So essentially, I'm not that into this kind of music so I can't enjoy it that much but I can tell its well made. You have a good sense of song progression and understanding of dynamics, which is something a lot amateur artists under-utilize (myself as well). Keep it up man, I'm curious to see how you improve!

Intro is very attention grabbing. When the synths kick around :30 in it sounds really nice. Very warm, airy synths really give the track some life. The only thing that bothered me about is the glitch elements, where the synths/bass cut out quickly, and the whole "electronic banger" vibe is just not my thing. Overall the track sounds really well produced and you definitely have some arrangement knowledge.

I dig the restrained, subdued night-time vibe on this. I think it's a interesting idea that the percussion doesn't take center stage on the beat and that it's more on the sparse side of things. The sax really adds to tone and emotional aspect of the track. Curious to hear someone with the right voice spit lackadaisically over this.

Ooh, love the shaker percussion and the airy snare in the beginning. I get vibes reminiscent of the cover picture you picked. Floating through the clouds in bliss, with deep blue ocean water below me and seagulls flying by. Relaxing little song, great stuff.

Me again.

i made the song a long time ago but still, do your worst

You have some interesting chord progressions and good production quality for experimental music. Personally like the latter half of Mid-Day; Summer Fray.

Will try to drop advice in the comments. Overall, from the 3 songs I listened to, you have pretty good progressions, you could use a more dominant lead, but if you plan on laying lyrics on it, they are fine as is as to prevent having too little headroom.

I loved the guitar on On the Brink of Thinking. The drum suits the song, chill af. I imagine it being in the overworld in a game.

Despite me not particularly liking Lo-Fi, that new song of yours is ringing in my ears in a good way. Very chill, almost psychedelic at times.

Great intro, the sound effects fit it well. I would add a bit of limiting on the intro bas to ease into the first verse.

I like the vocal sampling on I Feel You. The whole track has a feel of dreaminess and distance. Pretty dank.

(Me)

ive seen you post so often in these threads but not once initiated or contributed feedback like you say

well shit, you need to work on it, it sounds barebones and i understand its meant to be avant garde but it sounds waaayy too simplistic

love the atmospheres, but you know nothing about spooky :)

Here's me:
soundcloud.com/joyscouts/jet-lag
>synthpop, dreampop, female vocals

Move away from the mic and take off the limiter. Reminds me of 3pac (RIP).

Right up my alley. Good composition, good form except maybe a bit too much variation to follow. The recording clips too much, though.

Oh cool, someone from Edmonton. I'd probably change the artist name. I like the drums on this, although you might have to quantize more to get everything synced up better.

Solid track, good mix, I guess the drums could be a bit more prominent is my sole critique.

Tight beat, lol. I liked the beat tag. Sweet mix, the rappers are pretty influenced by Desiigner and thugger without ripping them off, which is a good balance. Maybe a bit too much delay on the vox, kinda confusing, unrelated, but idk why virtually all Nectar presets have so much goddamn delay. Why are all the ad libs mixed right? I'm not complaining, it works, but I dunno if I've heard that before.

The vocal sample is from Gravity's Rainbow. The piano is from Pieces of a Man by Gil Scott-Heron.

Me, awaiting handies.

>i spit that hot shit boooiiii

but i mostly make deep shit that i like but want to start making more trappy songs with a lil twist

you're on some next level enlightened blessed from the gods talented since birth type shit,
You should make more hard hitting songs with a kind of creepy daniel johnston melody with some strong bass and the same type of drums you have in most of your songs that shit would be incredible, please keep making this shit im hooked

i think if you developed your beats and had more of a structure to follow rather than repetition with like a few breakdowns and buildups, that would make ur shit easier to listen to and more stimulating

man if you had less reverb on your voice and had your adlibs either lower or put different effects on them then it would be a lot better
