over all these years nothing has seemed particularly similar. Residents for Primus just because of his voice although thats probably way too obvious since they covered them which is how I even found out about the Residents in the first place. Boredoms for some early Butthole Surfers is the closest I've ever come and I still never thought they were especially similar.

I dunno, you're a white guy? I never really bother to guess stuff about people.

You're probably west-coast, white, male, and laid back. Maybe a caffeine junkie, too.

You own a lot of black clothing, and there's some positively evil-sounding shit that actually makes you giddy. Like, genuinely happy.

You like a contemplative atmosphere, but that can be achieved by some rather dyanmic music with you.

You browse here for suggestions, but you kinda filter it instead of just being a Sup Forumsdrone.

Lightning Bolt
Melt-Banana
Yo La Tengo
Polvo
Daniel Johnston

I suggest the Fugs and the Holy Modal Rounders for you, based on your appreciation for anti-pop.

Me: Pere Ubu, Modest Mouse, The Mothers of Invention, Animal Collective, Eric Copeland

feels Sup Forums is a safe haven away from the critiquing outside, world who would otherwise mock your alternative taste in music, tell you that you need to get into better shape and catch some more rays. better diet would help too.

what the fuck is swans doing amongst that mess?

prime example of someone who thinks putting swans as their favourite band makes them look cultured and musically aware, whereas it is fairly transparent.

mid 20's? failed some course at university once (maybe sport or media related)? bumming around at home with mother and father, and you're like a skiing instructor?

Look like a cool guy to be friends with, as long as you're not too into Japanese culture, and it is just the noise pop they release.
Probably quite introverted though, and stay very quiet when anyone talks about music in real life.

Hey thanks man, pretty much all correct, and yeah I'm not a huge weeaboo

Not found your musical style yet. Hopping from band to band, clutching on to ones that tickle your fancy for short periods of time.
Like 18/19. Just finished school. Taking a gap year to work, and get some money together, despite being unsure what you want to do.

As for recommendations, I can suggest some post-rock type stuff for you to try. See if that is your thing:
Aerogramme - My Heart has a Wish That You Would Not Go
Bark Psychosis - Hex
Dirty Three - Cinder
El Ten Eleven - El Ten Eleven
Esmerine - If Only a Sweet Surrender to the Night to Come be True

Should keep you bust for a bit...

but 100% correct?

or are you a snowboard instructor?
