What did he mean by this?

What did he mean by this?

my head hurts after reading just two sentences

he's trying to impy that he uses tuning/notes not otherwise found in standard western music. Basically he's saying that he wants an excuse so that when his music sounds shit, which inevitably it always does, he can blame it on Scala/alternative non-western tunings.
>Implying he even uses an EQ anyway
his music sounds like shit as far as production goes.

nice elitism bro

My Negro Individual. I'm not reading that.

that's Sup Forums level b8

that's nice, but I don't take compliments from plebeian scum.

you still replied

>so you can play your resonances in real time.
because I just hated playing my resonances five minutes into the future

idk why I like trolls like aphex and dean blunt
they troll so hard you can't tell if they're being dumb on purpose or not

>not knowing he is referring to the scala programming language

jesus mu is full of pseudo intellectuals

...

>mfw scala in 2016

>scala tuning tables
>tuning

it's for microtonal tunings you fucking cockwomble.
fuk off m8

AOTDSF.

No, he is referring to the Scala microtonal tuning software. Used for creating microtonal midi data, customizing scales and temperaments, etc.

Sounds like an interesting experiment.
Would listen to.

You don't like his music, so why did you read his post?
You're just hating

lol....

word

I am not sure but I think he means this.
There is scala that is a program to create your own tuninngs
What is a tuning?
Most instruments have limited amount of keys and holes and etc.... so you must select what you will play.
With some instruments like trombone and violin thats is not the case but they are exception.

So with those instruments where you must select the frequency their "keys", people had to select somewhat frequencies they will play.
99.99%+ of population use the formula 440*2^(N/12)

With the program scala you can create new tunings to tune your mid instruments or just create tunings to create acoustic instruments with this tuning.
NEXT PART
You can analise sound/music with programs to find the frequencies that form this sound and program.
What he would do is to get some sound and analise it, and put on scala, so your tuning would be the most used frequencies of this sound.

This idea is not entirely new.
There is a thing called spectralism, where people record a sound and then analise it and then make music based on what they found.
As some example, they find the % of the sound is made of the frequency X, then the % is made of the frequency Y....., and make a new song that will have the same %.

bro i have no idea what you're saying but you should talk to richard user bro

to make even more simple
sounds have frequencies, songs too.
You get a sound and find the frequencies this sound have.
The most used ones found by the program are the ones that your piano key will play now.
