lamp is a really good and comfy band. just think Japanese jazz oriented rock pop. kinda stereolab-ish

...

check out stereolab and kero kero bonito

D00d that sounds so nice, cant wait to jump into their stuff. Thanks.

yeah man, i checked out most of their discography. And its all consistently good.

will rec in a bit

I would rec but I have a severe case of plebitis
sorry

Can't wait.

thanks

I saw you on some other thread just a second ago. It's O.K. to like popular/pleb music. Be yourself.

lol, you should check out france gall. or francois hardy

MC5 - kick out the jams
Love - Forever Changes
>those two are pretty obvious tho
Black Disco - Night Express
Ricky Eat Acid - Three Love Songs

i think its a good rule to limit one album per artist because it helps describe your taste more clearly

The War On Drugs - Lost in the Dream
Low - I Could Live for Hope

le tigre - s/t
spirtualized - sweet heart sweet light

same thing as you should limit to one album per artist maybe take your chart down from 100, its hard to rec from 4 stevie nicks/fleetwood mac in top 10

anyway

Baby Huey - The Baby Huey Story
Biblo - Slave to love EP
Father John Misty - I Love You Honeybear

unapologetic scaruffi-core coming through

shabazz palaces - black up

red house painters - rollercoaster

try boredoms - super ae and onwards

The Very Things - The Bushes Scream While Daddy Prunes

Tortoise - TNT

Jandek - Ready for the House

Black Tambourine - Complete Recordings

Smog - Knock Knock

heyyoo my man
Joe Byrd & the Field Hippies - The American Metaphysical Circus
if u havent heard it it's Joe Byrd's post-USA album, its good

Pharaoh Sanders - Karma
ZelooperZ - HELP

Bill Evans and Jim Hall - Undercurrent
Bing and Ruth - Tomorrow Was the Golden Age
Duck Fight Goose - Flow

bo en - pale machine
Owen Pallett - Heartland
Twa Toots - The Peel Sessions

Broadcast - The Noise Made By People

It's one pm again

It's the same old soooong

Pleeeaaasuree over matter

Papa-paparazzi

I'm so fresh like dish detergent

THERE'LL BE JOY AND THERE'LL BE LAUGHTER

*strings on requiem pt.2*

check out Intersystems. Number One is a good place to start but Free Psychedelic Poster Inside is my personal favorite

also, Pierre Henry & Michel Colombier - Messe Pour Le Temps Present
youtube.com/watch?v=xx_zkQw0Ohs

and Tonto's Expanding Head Band maybe
youtube.com/watch?v=ec8BGEb7_iA

how many of Sup Forums users actually post here?

+mmt

+bowie
+nmh

get station to station on there you pleb

+wildflower

+bowie

I reckon about 60 in total, but only with 10-15 posting regularly

how many visit Sup Forums regularly

I have no idea

Do you just post and leave or why the fuck you never reply

Parquet Courts - Human Performance

The Weeknd sucked after he went commercial (Kiss Land and BBTM) Basically everything after Trilogy sucks.

Still haven't gotten to it yet, moving slowly in his discography seeing as I get so caught up in his albums, cause they're so good.

Yeah maybe I should move it to one per artist
Would feel kinda odd without all those Fleetwood/Stevie albums though
Anyway, thanks for those recs

I've seen TNT posted but never gave it a try
Might do tomorrow, thanks

I do give replies
Often though I'm sleeping or busy

Yeah, I have to agree. Thursday is my personal favorite, I think it showcases best the drugged-out afterparty depression ambiance out of the three.

that's what i did, except i started with station to station so i may be biased

his whole early on discography is fucking amazing

post scary monsters is meh

Hi friends. Looking for recs, please.

Peter Lang - The Thing at the Nursery Room Window

Air - The Virgin Suicides

Dave Cousins - Two Weeks Last Summer

Dave Van Ronk - Just Dave Van Ronk

Shigeru Suzuki - Band Wagon

Joe McPhee - Nation Time

Jonathan Richman - I, Jonathan

Laika - Silver Apples of the Moon

10cc - Sheet Music

Brett Smiley - Breathlessly Brett

Bulgarian Jazz Quartet - Jazz Focus '65

what a boring chart thread

Donald Byrd - Ethiopian Knights

Blockhead - The Music Scene

Haven't gotten that far, but I hear the same from lots of other people.

Blackstar was my first Bowie record and it's post 1980. I'm also expecting a lot from The Next Day, Heathen and Outside.

blackstar's alright - despite many people calling it their aoty i was pretty underwhelmed

Are you serious? Were you listening with an open mind?

...

...

Is Bob Dylan worth "getting into?" I listened to The Times Are A-Changin' and was really intrigued.

Where's Low End Theory bruh.

shit didn't even render correctly cuz it was so big

I fucking hate you lazyposting assholes. Do a little work to make these threads worthwhile other than just being a lazy bastard. You smug fucks sitting their with your cheeky grins expecting people to respond to you while you haven't done jack shit other than post your chart. Be a member of the community, not a leech.

I've been going back and forth yo.

David Bowie, Low.

i don't think it's hard to imagine that i've already heard that one

I just thought that if you did, it would be up there somewhere

nah i don't like it

...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

i don't know, maybe i was distracted at the time. i'll give it another listen sometime soon. i think i remember not liking the way he was singing

well fucking kill me

i'd rather not give uncertain recs, only if i'm p sure they would like it

It's not like most of his work, that's probably why it may not have clicked the first time.

its cool everyone's different

yeah i mean how fun would my chart be if it aligned perfectly to popular consensus

That's what makes this board so good. It's like a place where everyone comes around to show off how much their opinion differs.

Except for those circle-jerking waifu fags (grimes, chvrches, kpop).

lazyposters

can't help you guys
don't think i've ever seen any of the albums on the cat chart.

aksak maboul is the shit
jun togawa reminded me of them even though they don't sound very similar. check out her first or third album.

if you want more hardcore punk stuff try Crucifix - Dehumanization and any Crass album, personal favourite is their debut.

can't rec anything again but ++gravediggaz

sometimes it feels like everyone on here is going through the same musical journey with only a slight difference in choice and taste. Like we're all running up the same foggy hill searching for pleasure in the form of music

Describe Hunky Dory in 5 words.

Well said yo.

I joined this board earlier this year just to see what the whole Sup Forums FAPPEning hACKeR!!11!! thing was about and I learned the strings, but found /b to be gross and self-loathing. And seeing as I liked music, I decided to check out /mu and never looked back.

It's the only decent board on this website and when you set aside the memes, it feels like home.

kooky, enchanting, story-time, guitar, spring

Is kooks as bad as people say?

yeah this is one of the only places where one can have musical discussion that will further one's taste in music significantly, and i enjoy the memes as well. Sometimes i post in the MC ride greentext threads just because it's fun

HAhaha shameless. But yeah, again, well said yo.

hi

how are you today?

blackpink.whistle

thanks
which chart is yours

Cereal crackers is all i ate today

Bubu - anabelas
Paavoharju - Yhä Hämärää
Lula Côrtes e Zé Ramalho - Paêbirú
Sun Angle - Diamond Junk
Kim Jung Mi - now

this one

aw shit it's your favorite album
i'm sorry

You NEEED to listen to 22 by Hyuko.

Sorry for what?

not liking it i guess
but maybe that's a stupid thing to be sorry about idk

It's all good ffam.

My favorite Dylan album right now is Bring It All Back Home. Has some of his best acoustic and electric songs, so i'd rec that.

Low End Theory is in there, left column next to Miles Davis.

I'm not lazy, i'm just really self-conscious of my ability to recommend, which I guess isn't much better...

i will, i havent heard a lot of korean stuff

:) try Eno

No kidding I have three of his albums on my list of albums to listen to, considering how heavily Low was influenced by Eno. My expectations are super high.

Neither do I, but I enjoyed it a lot. It's just like a couple of guys in a band and they make nice music.

Aight thanks.

BOY YA BOUT TA DO IT
i'd recommend starting with Taking Tiger Mountain, if you liked the rockier stuff try Warm Jets if you want more proto-ambient art pop go forward in his discography. I'd say Before And After Science is most similar to Low though, and it's also my favorite Eno

OKay okay okay look, I got:

Ambient 1: Music for Airports
My Life in the Bush of Ghosts
The Drop

Cause they seemed the most interesting and the album covers were aesthetically pleasing, but I will put those down in my list for sure. Thanks a shit ton.

i wouldn't recommend ambient 1, if you want ambient i'd say go for Discreet Music first
My Life is great but nothing like Low, very similar to Remain In Light
haven't heard The Drop, is supposed to be mediocre

Brygada Kryzys - Cosmopolis
ABBA - The Album

Don't recognize most of this but Laurel Halo is amazing!

I'd highly recommend Eno & Hassell's Fourth World album

Okay, got it. I'll save it for last then.

I'm sort of an amateur Eno expert so feel free to ask me about anything else

Where does he stand in your top artists?

at the top although my favorite album's not by him

Cool cool. Any chance you could explain to me the /bleep meme that's tossed around this board every now and then?

i'm not familiar with that one actually. How does it go

This is pretty cool, thanks.

Steely Dan – Aja
Sonny Clark – Cool Struttin'
Bo Hansson – Sagan Om Ringen
Christian Wallumrod Ensemble – Sofienberg Variations
Son House – Father Of Folk Blues
Annexus Quam – Osmose
Unwound – Fake Train

It's ok, yeah, she is. Quarantine is quite underrated I think.

154 – Strike
Marion Brown – Why Not
Stephan Micus – Implosions
Shuggie Otis – Inspiration Information
Sandwell District – Feed Forward
Burial Hex – The Hierophant
DJ Harrison – Stashboxxx
John Martyn – Solid Air

Get a room faglords

hey free bumps

Get a life, seriously. This board is made for discussion, you autistic.

i'd like to imagine this guy just calls everyone having conversations in his day-to-day life faglords

he just lurks in his parents' house and calls them faglords whenever they start talking
