elysia crampton demon city

What did you like about that? Conceptually it was interesting, but musically and compositionally I found it to be rather lacking.

I finally got around to this and it was not nearly as cringey as Sup Forums made it out to be. There were a few times I winced (mostly on 'Obama') but it really wasn't that disruptive overall. Good album.

Simply the best

fuck off

:]

Fucking great album

this

Is it sweet? I like I'm In Your Mind Fuzz a lot

>that face
how old are you kid?

Every bones fan is retarded underage.

It's just more of the same. Another boring, safe album. Why can't they ever do anything interesting?

more like every bones poster is bones

...

This isn't even out yet though...?

was streamed for a while on subpop

I think it's better than IIYMF. The concept of the perfectly looping album is killer. Less grandeous song by song, but the whole album feels like one consistent piece of awesomeness.

Are you 13?

Favorite, no contest. I listen to it at least 3 times a week

15

I was hoping this was going to be a lot better than it was honestly. I liked PW more

well no but he asked for the best album of the year. not an acutal good one

When two of your tracks are mediocre ambience on a 6 track "album" and two of the songs are pretty much just, not memorable, you got yourself an over rated album with the way people talk about it. I remember when it dropped people were saying stuff like "Animal Collective is finished", "They lost their creative spark", "Deakin just released the best thing since MPP"

Finally, others agree with me. I mean, it exceeded my expectations cus I thought it'd be a total disaster, but it's really not as great as everyone is making it out to be.

I was hoping to walk into this and be hit with CHz 2.0 but it was just like... alright. Not BAD by any means, just like a straight 5 average

i didnt think it was up yet either. From the way the singles sound, its lookin to be a step up from s/t

Enjoy your ban
MODS!!!

Healthy Moon/Loose Ends is the best 8 minutes of the entire year

like, the rest of the album is fine to very good

but holy shit those two songs

I wrote Cole a letter about how much I loved them on what.cd and he wrote me right back, was very sweet

...

just gonna dump my favorites list here in alphabetical order w/ genre

Aesop Rock - The Impossible Kid (rippity rap)
Arca - Entrañas (weird dark glitchy post-industrial shit)
Autechre - elseq (robots go bleep bloop)
David Bowie - Blackstar (dude death lmao)
Fates Warning - Theories of Flight (charming prog meal)
Fire! Orchestra - Ritual (jazz in a blender)
Gorguts - Pleiades Death EP (technical death meal)
Howls of Ebb - Cursus Impasse: The Pendlomic Vows (black death meal)
Jute Gyte - Perdurance (avant black meal)
Schammasch - Triangle (black meal)
Esperanza Spalding - Emily's D+Evolution (npr artsy jazz-pop)
Sumac - What One Becomes (sludge meal)
Three Trapped Tigers - Silent Earthling (math rock)
Toothgrinder - Nocturnal Masquerade (prog meal)
Venetian Snares - Traditional Synthesizer Music (drill & bass)
Witherscape - Northern Sanctuary (prog meal)
Yakui - Awaken Forest EP (techno)

#1 AOTY is probably Jute Gyte followed closely by Blackstar

Either 'Wildflower' or 'A Sailor's Guide To Earth'

crucify me Sup Forums

o shit waddup!!!

WHERE THE FUCK IS MY CASSETTE FERRARO

>it will be
this

...

Yeah

...

forgot Vektor - Terminal Redux
damn this has been a good year

these are also pretty high up for me

...

this or pic related

white lung's guitarist kenny is like, the most original sounding riff writer of this decade ez

I LOVE that album.

ayyyy kirby

...

Why'd you eat that leaf

...

>that nornahetta album
my nigga. that thing is dank. seems pretty out of place on that list though haha

Yeah it sure is. I took a bush walk late at night listening to that thing and it clicked with me.

nice. black metal is always the best when listening outside at night.

given that the entire album is based around a shroom trip, i wonder what it would be like to listen to while frying. although i'm way too much of a pussy to try. i have a feeling that would be a terrifying experience

Don't trust myself enough to actually do that tbqh famo.
Would this album sit this high on your list or not so much?

yeah definitely. if not higher. improvosational black metal is one of the coolest ideas i can think of. but, to be fair, i haven't listened to very much other than black metal this year. iceland has been putting out some amazing stuff.

nice picks

Yeah I like that style of black metal also
Norway and Iceland are killing the black metal game right now

>alphabetical order
>Spalding, Esperanza
nice format.

Pic related or Bottomless Pit for me. That being said, I haven't listened to a lot of music from this year.

>1. KING - We Are KING
>2. Idris Ackamoor - We Be All Africans
>3. Bombino - Azel
>4. Puce Mary - The Spiral
>5. Metá Metá - MM3

This
Also, anybody could recommend a good 2016 Shoegaze album?

>good 2016 Shoegaze album
I got some bad news, buddy

Unironically, fuck all. *puts on trigger guard*

at least one other person here likes that Ritualize album.

Man, that's what I was afraid of.

youtube.com/watch?v=VuDscQBInyA

new Slowdive release?

2015 had Everything Else Matters

hopefully that counts for something.

That album is fantastic in my opinion.
P4k's review of it was garbage.

Cloakroom 's Further Out was my favorite shoegaze album from 2015. I'm still looking for something to come close to it.

Yeah fuck them. It's still my Rap AOTY. I putit on the headphones and was blown away. It's so much better than hearing it on speakers.

I thought it was fairly comparable to Title Fight

>2015 had Everything Else Matters
>hopefully that counts for something.
wut

the new one is completely solid

Both pretty sweet albums, but I prefer Further Out a bit more than Hyperview. I like how they recorded everything in tape using lots of tricks to add more reverb.
It was pretty sweet.

I've also enjoyed this album very much!

So far yeah.
