Benji
Before Today
Helplessness Blues
Have One on Me
Halcyon Digest
mbv

and a bunch of metal better than SUNBATHER but you're all fucking plebs so I will not bother

>not just letting it be blackgaze
>caring that much

Sunbather is literally an album from the 2010s that you CAN miss

The Archhandroid
Have One On Me
Immunity

>3 years after release
> still this upset
Why do people care solo much? Does its exsistence somehow affect the metal you enjoy in anyway?

seconding helplessness blues and have one on me
i like the others but i wouldn't call them essential. maybe halcyon or benji, but both artists have a lot better work.

Age of Adz
To Pimp a Butterfly
James Blake
Loud City Song/Have You in My Wilderness
Gloss Drop
Black Up

oh, and Plowing into the Field of Love
also is entirely skippable

Anything dean blunt, opn, james ferraro, arca, holly herndon has released
Benji
Pom pom
John maus- John Maus A Collection of Rarities and Previously Unreleased Material
GKMC

Anything death grips
Anything Mac demarco
Anything connan mockasin

IDk this whole list would take forever. There's alot of underground obscure stuff im missing that i can't think off atm

>the list goes on...

Until you run out of pitchfork reviewcore

>Good albums get good reviews
OMGWOW

Mirrored
Get to Heaven
WOE
DG's Discography
Black Up
No Now

...

you can leave all the rap out user

this, esp the sunbather part

no one actually cares except p4k drones and meme metal fanboys who insist this album still holds up after three years

Fixing is literally the worst band, even your average female listens music that isn't as shit or unbearable

...

Except it does. Literally what's wrong with the album, not kvlt enough? Too accessible? Lyrics not edgy enough?

most artist-recommended album on bandcamp, yet never seen on here.

Have One On Me
Divers
Exit!
Third Side Of Tape
Ceres & Calypso

Mirrored came out in 2007

benji is very skippable

...

Deathconsciousness

fug youre right

It's from 2008, dumbass

> muh HAPPY BLACK METAL

gimmick got stale by listen three

it's 'metal' for people who don't like metal, hence why you're so assflustered I don't like it

Teen dream

either way it sucks, it's not an essential release

I'm not saying is good, just correcting the user

Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy
Death Grips - The Money Store (or any other DG releases)
Neutral Milk Hotel - Ferris Wheel on Fire
The last 3 Swans albums

I like plenty of metal, black metal too, and love sunbather, sorry you're butt hurt a successful band pulls from the sound of your tough guy club. Saying its metal for people who don't like metal is the same as a neck beard walking up to some one and saying "well if you like LotR so much then what are all the languages spoken in middle earth, HAH gotcha poser!"

Playing in a major key doesn't make a song happy.

'Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!
To Pimp a Butterfly

That's it

>it's 'metal' for people who don't like metal
That's why it's actually good.

Metalheads are so easily butthurt lmao

holy shit its almost like you started going on this board this month

...

>Black Up
Yes x1,000,000
>To Pimp a Butterfly
Why?

> I don't like this album
> WTF WHYYYYY Y-YOU FUCKING NECKBEARD
> I just don't
> W-WHY SO BUTTHURT

deafheaven fans are fucking cancer

Get to heaven shook my life up, 1st album I listened to on Sup Forums

>implying that black metal isn't already a gimmick
I have yet to meet someone who could tolerate Sunbather that wasn't already into metal.
butthurt-the post

People that get so triggered by that album are equally cancerous.

Just because you don't like something doesn't make it objectively bad and belittling people that do because you think you're so high and mighty for liking something heavier or more obscure is a high school tier attitude

It's the best mainstream hip hop release of the decade so far

This, even if you don't like the album it's very difficult to say it didn't have a large impact and challenge the mainstream sound in a new way, it's going to go down as one of the pinnacle albums of the decade whether you like it or not

once you broke out the >MUHs you were butthurt, thems the rules

>Who is Kanye West?

Sunbather was pretty good. but at repeated listens the buildups got boring and repetitive
IMO liturgy aesthetica is better album in the long run.
both are great. too bad deafheavens latest album was a letdown
Ark work was interesting

I like MBDTF and Yeezus but To Pimp a Butterfly is a more musically and lyrically impressive album. Also TLOP is irredeemably bad.

Aesthetica was pretty interesting, I prefer Subather still but they're both pretty great. The MIDI instruments in Ark Work made it a bit tough to enjoy just because they sat so awkwardly and in your face.

New Bermuda was not as good as Sunbather but it has its moments in my opinion, also translates live really well

New Bermuda > Sunbather > Aesthetica >>>>> The Ark Work

I can't take this serious without any explanation on why those picks

I am not the poster, but New Bermuda does have a more accessible style and production although I prefer the finish on Sunbather. Aesthetics had plenty of great moments, but The Ark Work had Quetzalcoatl and that's all that stood out to me.

pls stop talking about Deafheaven

>New Bermuda does have a more accessible style and production
Actually this is why I think bermuda is the worst. but this will boil down to everybody's own personal taste in what they want to hear in music

for me its Aesthetica>sunbather>ark>bermuda
And I say this because Im into math and noise rock which liturgy has some influences from

this album is gorgeous.

>frogposter
You're a dumb faggot and your frog only made you look worse.

...

its really fucking good

if tpab isn't skippable then rtj2 can't be

nice thread guys

...

>This
Viet Cong
Public Strain

oh im retarded sorry

wow this. Viet Cong is fucking great

>Actually believing that

You're gonna get blown to hell by everyone for posting that but I agree. It's a modern classic.

Syro, Oversteps, Tommorow's Harvest, probably some other stuff

I think this a well balanced list that represents some big directions in music.

The Unnatural World
The Ark Work
TKOL
R+7
Koi No Yokan

Your ranking is literally backwards my man

they're both completley skippable, but rtj2 is slightly less shit because of el-p's production

Just stop. I get you want to be a special little contrarian snowflake but TPAB is so far beyond either RTJ project.

Attack on memory

...

...

...

...

This is definitely an essential for me, as well as Replica by OPN

...

I really liked this album but i've never heard moo talk about it

>Grimes

kys, my good man

Why is it more musically impressive?

The fact that the hip hop album of the decade hasn't been posted yet is embarrassing.

...

...

>if I redirect their valid arguments towards themselves, maybe I can seem like I'm not a retard!

I hate Sunbather, and their fans are cucky nu-males, but you metalheads are actually fucking stupid, which is pathetic, considering most of you are the "only intelligent" music listeners.

>frog

Pathetic on so many levels.

tbqh

>le third side of tape is a masterpie

melondrone leave

Listen to Wesley's Theory then listen to All of the Lights. If you prefer the latter, you're simply a pleb.

Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues
QOTSA - Like Clockwork
Thundercat - Where the Giants Roam
Toe - The Book About My Idle Plot On A Vague Anxiety (maybe because I'm a drummer, idk)

That toe album came out over a decade ago, man

Yeah these.
