What's that one artist you know an embarrassingly autistic amount of knowledge and trivia about?

What's that one artist you know an embarrassingly autistic amount of knowledge and trivia about?

Everyone has one.

Animal Collective and Sufjan Stevens

Wings

Animal Collective.

Where are my Wings niggas?
>Wings > Beatles

none

I care about the music, not the artist as a person

Lesiv

the band the beatles could have been

Probably Bjork

Melt-Banana

so much in fact I even talk to them from time to time.

Beach Boys

Boards of Canada. Sort of easy to get lost in bocpages while listening to their albums though

Alan Partridge was an accidental patrician in this case. He also liked ABBA.

beastie boys
blink 182
metallica

El-P

Emerson Lake & Palmer?

Yes
The Mars Volta/ATDI/Omar's solo work/Antemasque

John Darnielle

rip deakin and his cupcake

He's not a sperg. I think McCulloch was the best guitarist Wings had by far. Not saying Henry McCullogh or Lawrence Juber were subpar.

In current live versions of Master Of Puppets, what does James shout before Kirk's guitar solo?

Doesn't really help that they've been my favourite band for as long as I've been listening to music.

Björk is the only artist I probably know way too much about.

I spend much too much time learning pointless information

I'm really bad for this.
> Pavement
> Beach Boys (and especially Brian Wilson)
> Beatles (John Lennon especially)
> Oasis (yeah, unfortunately)
> Sloan
> Thrush Hermit (A mid 90s canadian power pop band, similar to sloan but with more edge. I also am autistic about its lead singer/songwriter Joel Plaskett and his solo career)
> Phil Spector
> Big Star

Looking at this list actually makes me embarrassed. That said, a lot of these bands have very self important stories. I'm going to say it probably plays into my autistic tendencies to get obsessed with the points of pop/rock history.

>tfw read most of the material on his website
>tfw subscribed to his and his wife's youtube channel and watch all their vids
It's only a matter of time until I start playing MYFAROG, his music and lifestyle is just too comfy.

What kind of person listens to Sloan?

That's funny, I used to think that myself. Now look at me.

Twice Removed is a fantastic and underappreciated alt-rock album from the 90s that unfortunately wasn't quite produced enough for mainstream success and too poppy for underground success. Ditto for their followup, One Chord to Another.

In general though, I just really appreciate their songwriting. It's consistently good, light on cliches, and manages to skirt the line between fun and interesting.

They're constantly exploring new ways to present their core power-pop sound, which keeps it fresh but at the same time it's not so much of departure that it's not Sloan, ect.

Oh I know a lot about Varg as well and the 2nd wave black metal scene in general. He's based.

I have a lot of these but the one I know the most of is probaly Swans
If you know that there is an exclusive extremely rare Cassete which contains the EP and Single, A Screw and Time Is Money (Bastard), hello there, friend.

The Residents

Can you please do one of these "Contrarian/Plebeian/Patrician" images with all of their albums?
I wanted to do it but I still haven't listened to all of their discography

John Frusciante

I was a big RHCP fan as a kid then found out about his solo career in my teens and some things about his life

Pretty sure he meant El-P as in the producer for Run the Jewels

Radiohead my dude.

Can you explain to me why people into the Norwegian black metal scene are so fucking insane? It's like if everything adults said in the 70's about metal music was true.

What Metallica song's demo version was titled "Black Days," named after Soundgarden's "Fell On Black Days"?

Beatles, Who and I'm working on Zappa.

Yes, specifically these two.
Also Gentle Giant too I guess.

I thought that was pretty common knowledge.

R.E.M.

The Vines are great. One of the more memorable 00s rock bands.

they might be giants

Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson

swans and more or less every single artist michael gira has been involved with. pretty much everything on his record label, and all the terrible collaborations.

also, justin broadrick, to a similar level of autistic knowledge. even had a drink with him one time after a small jesu gig in camden. god damn i tried to be so cool. nice guy.

Daft Punk.
I know their music inside and out, their musical tastes and influences, and general stupid trivia about them.

It was probably the most extreme music scene of all time which appeals to some insane people.
