because it was manufactured, insincere, insipid fucking garbage and FF is a prime example of that

it wasn't. Once you start digging you realize none of those bands added something new to rock music.
Pic related is just a bad rip off from Gang of Four

Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not is brilliant. The rest isn't.

It was notably worse than grunge and you know it

Kys

>grunge
>better than anything
I arent think that

kys. WTF happened to Sup Forums since I left? Is anything possible to be irrationally hated here?

Because pic related and Interpol were the only good bands that rose from genre, the rest like Kaiser Chiefs and Maximo Park is pretty mediocre but I still like it for nostalgia reasons

It was way better alternative to nu metal, butt rock and pop punk

>le everything needs to be original to be good
Fuck off, it's just good fun music

wow we're really facing a huge 90s revival if people started romanticizing grunge.

>Franz
>Early Arctic Monkeys
>Late Oasis
>The Killers
>Muse pre-2009
>The Strokes

2000s rock was pretty gud

I thought Sup Forums would like that album because it got BNM on Pitchfork

I've KC twice and I regret nothing, catchiest band ever

SO IF YOU'RE LONELY

>late oasis
>>>/uk/ ya wankuhhhhh

Seriously, I have no clue what the fuck people mean when they try and say early 2000's were some of the best times for music. I see it a lot lately. Yeah, there were a great couple experiments. Yeah, I love it for nostalgic reasons and for dance-around fun. It was generally a fucking awful time in music, looking back on it now.

There were some good and great bands to arise from the Post-Punk/Garage Rock Revival rabble:
>Interpol
>Franz Ferdinand
>The National
>The Walkmen
>British Sea Power
>The Horrors
>The Libertines
>Arctic Monkeys (at least their first few)
>The White Stripes
>The Hives
>Bloc Party (for one album, but whatever)
>Editors
>The Strokes (even if they quite quickly dropped the ball)

The fashion and slang were kinda cringy at times but the music was actually really great. Definitely much better than Indie "Rock" or Pop "Punk".

Reminder

2000s indie rock ranking

>Actually good tier:
Franz Ferdinand, British Sea Power, Foals, The Horrors, Interpol, The Coral

>Decent Tier:
The Killers, The Cribs, We Are Scientists, The Rapture, Mystery Jets, Editors, The Walkmen, The Hives,

>Overrated tier:

Dig Out Your Soul is their best album.

>no one posting the most important rock album of the decade

This is the last 10/10 album released in my opinion

What the fuck are you talking about?

>The White Stripes
>Coldplay
>Fountains of Wayne
>Modest Mouse
>Franz Ferdinand

>Radiohead
>Metric
>Shiny Toy Guns

>Cut Copy
>Hot Chip
>MGMT
>Acid Mothers Temple
>The Killers
>The Subways

Growing up in the 00s was awesome. Fuck being a 90s kid.

00's sucked ass. you fags only like it because its around time mommy and daddy bought everything for you.

Move on and progress stop living in the past

>not growing up in a foster home with nothing but your iPod to keep you company

Fuck off you entitled '10s baby.

>FF is a prime example of that
you blew it

Nothing of value was contributed to the music world after the year 1979.

FACT

Are you in Death From Above 1979? (another good 00s band)

I say it msotly just because a lot of my favourite albums (Dopethrone. SILY, Quebec, Ape of Naples, College Dropout, City of Syrup and Deltron 3030 for example), popular or otherwise, were from the early-mid 2000s

This is broadly right.

White Stripes were the best thing to happen to rock since Nirvana

hasn't been a rock band as good in the MAINSTREAM mainstream since

>using overrated as a synonym for popular

see, this is the shit that makes everyone hate Sup Forums. calling a band "overrated" says nothing about the quality of their music, it simply reveals to the world that you judge them based on what others think of them.

The Hives are better than anything on that list

the lyrics are the best of 2000.

not bad.

FF are best than that shit.
is more history, love, punk, rock.

franz ferdinand have two good songs in their entire discography

It was mostly just a rehash and nostalgia-fest of past eras and bands, or just bland uninspired watered down roc music.

Not really a high point in rock's life but a lot of good bands albums and songs did come out of it. Definitely somes in compassion to other years of rock.

*4 good albums + the one they did with Sparks

no, i said two good songs.

i bet you listen to death grips faggot

I'm currently listening to Antics and boy, Interpol is pretty good

>we are scientists
hell yeah, my favorite band in middle school

sigh...
You are a fool.

Agreed
