Ive heard bad things about you lot, apparently you all have terrible taste and pretend to like the most obscure garbage to look like hipsters and anti-contrarian pop shit like kanye to look like anti-hipsters
Rate my favourite acts to see if i fit in here and discuss pls
> old M.O.P. > old Outkast (pre stankonia) > classic Mobb Deep > old Bone Thugs > RA The Rugged Man > Pharcyde > Gravediggaz > The Roots > Jehst > old Common Sense > a bit of MemeF DOOM > the classic rappers like 2pac, Biggie obv tho i prefer Pac, Big L, Pun, Wu etc
The best members of Wu are Inspectah Deck, Rza then Gza in that order
My homeboard has gone to shit and ive got some time off work, can i coexist in here for a while Sup Forums?
What are your favourites 90s hiphop albums?
Wyatt Bell
*prefer 2pac to Biggie i meant to say
Benjamin Thompson
Why are all the new fags rap fags Also my favorite 90's hip hop album is bizarre ride II the pharcyde
Zachary Howard
What's your opinion on Cypress Hill?
Xavier Barnes
Fucking love that album, still bunp it weekly
Its a shame they cant get over their differences and reunite
Wyatt Ross
id say get out summerfag but your hip-hop knowledge is better than the average Sup Forumstant so nobody cares you'll fit right in
Nolan Thompson
Loved their first 2 albums and the third was good too but i dropped them when they did stoned raiders Cube killed all their credibility for me also
They still making music?
Brody Davis
Thanks m8 Im only new to this place, been around for quite a while on other boards
Nathan Thomas
ill give some of my favorites out, even though you've most likely heard them
>Digable Planets >A Tribe Called Quest >Three 6 Mafia (memphis rap in general is under-represented so check those out if you haven't) >Binary Star >Black Star >Snoop Dogg
or you could just use charts that Sup Forums has constructed, they are fairly comprehensive of the genre here's a nice example
Luis Collins
>not having ODB in best wu tang members Reeeeee
Jordan Bailey
I remember liking Digable Planets when i was growing up but cant remember much about them other than they might have been the ones that made that 9 11 album cover? It was a long arse time ago, like over 15 years Tribe called quest were my shit, low end theory and MM was bumped to death. I like all the Native Tongues guys like Black Sheep, De La etc. I was gutted when i heard about Phife
Blackstar could have been the GOATs, i went through a major Talib and Mos Def stage when i was younger. All that Rawkus stuff was great. Used to love Snoop too, Top Dogg is nearly as much an underrated album as Streetz is a Mutha by Kurupt
36mafia were always on my radar and i always knew they were the shit but i didnt have the internet at the time so i didnt get to listen to much, where should i start with them? Pretty sure i remember them from a Brotha Lynch Hung track
Dont think i know binary star
Eh that image is alright but it contains meme shit like Reasonable Doubt so i stopped looking at it. RD has 3 or 4 five star 10/10 tracks on it, but isnt a great album imo. Fuck jay z
Where else can i see some more of those should i just google it?
Jayden Ward
I didn't know Porcupine Tree bassist was a rapper
Matthew Fisher
>where should i start with them? definitely mystic stylez
>Dont think i know binary star good stuff jazzy production which you should like, lyrics with a lot of hip-hop references
>Eh that image is alright but it contains meme shit like Reasonable Doubt so i stopped looking at it. it's normal to have shit you don't like in a chart but that shouldn't discourage you from exploring it any chart is bound to have stuff you don't like, at least one of them unpopular opinion but i actually dislike nas, still i have to respect the popular opinion even if i dont have to like it
>Where else can i see some more of those should i just google it? pretty sure the Sup Forums sticky has a lot of these so dig in
William Gonzalez
Dont get me wrong ODB was the bollocks, just not on the level of the 3 i mentioned
Return is one of my alltime GOAT albums
> official wu member rankings list
1. Inspektah Deck 2. RZA 3. GZA
> gap
4. ODB 5. Method Man 6. Ghostface (overrated af)
> gap
7. Raekwon 8. Masta Killa 9. Literally Who-God?
> not even real members Cappadonna Shyheim
I would put the last 2 below GF but above Raekwon
I love Built 4 Cuban Linx but in spite of Raekwon, not because of him
Julian Cruz
Nice, thanks for the info. Yes i love jazzy shit when its done well What was your first exposure to Nas? If it wasnt Illmatic then that is a very understandable opinion t b h. He became a guest slot babby straight after his debut. I downloaded It Was Written a few weeks ago to listen to on the plane and it wasnt how i remembered it, completely unlistenable Maybe Nastradamus will have aged better but i remember Stillmatic being corny even when it came out
Best Nas album imo other than the obvious Illmatic is The Lost Tapes, i reccommend you give that a try
Brody Sanders
unfortunately it was illmatic and i haven't listened to any other nas, yet maybe ill give the lost tapes a try, thanks
Kayden Butler
Oh Well each to their own i guess
You didnt even like Represent or Halftime?
Austin Hughes
well they aren't bad, but i dont think they are good songs either just decent
Leo Rodriguez
If thugga was a wu member he would be the best
Xavier Martinez
I get down on 90s rap
And 00s rap
Even some of the current shit
Jason Turner
What are your favourite 00s acts?
I used to like The Clipse, thats about it
James Richardson
Who cares about 90s rap when its universally agreed that lil yachty is the new nas?
log off grampus
Nathaniel Torres
Nas, outkast, deltron 3030, ludacris, t.i.
Anthony Ortiz
That would be good if it wasn't going backwards so much. Like whenever there's an arrow leaving from one album it describes the next one so in detail that it can only mean that album. Like the arrow from XXX to Boy In Da Corner is telling exactly what's gonna come when you reach the end of that arrow.
Andrew Bailey
Ill add snoop and dre, not favorites but made a lotta good shit once upon a time
