if you really want to hear new music then stay out of /grimes/ and feels threads, there plenty of new shit to be found in sharethreads and 3x3 / top-whatever threads
After this album the the makeup of the band changed and they changed their name to TTNG. Some people like the post-shakeup sound better, but I think the original is good too.

/ For getting into Slayer, is Reign of Blood the go-to?
Michael Gray
mewithoutYou is one of my all time favorites. To anyone who likes mwY, check out Listener's album Wooden Heart. I found both of these artists through guest spots on Josh Scogin records way back when, oddly enough.
Ian Moore
Lemon Demon - Spirit Phone Synthpop/New Wave, Alternative I went into this album expecting a novelty record and came out really surprised. While some tracks have a humorous tone, this album is far more mature than the previous Lemon Demon works. The production is also heavily improved and the tracklist is much more consistent. Every song on here is excellent, my only problem with the album is that the second half isn't quite as GOAT as the first half. It still has the best song from the album by a mile. Favorite tracks: >Lifetime Achievement Award >Touch Tone Telephone >Cabinet Man >No Eyed Girl >When He Died >Sweet Bod >Eighth Wonder >Ancient Aliens >Reaganomics >Spiral of Ants
Austin Barnes
Yeah, I'd say Reign In Blood is their most famous and entry level album, but if you're not familiar with metal then their 5th album, Seasons In The Abyss, might be more your speed since it's a little catchier and less chaotic.
I highly recommend that you try out either of those two, Slayer is an amazing band.
