Why the french are so good at electronic music? And at the same time, France hasn't famous\good rock-bands. But no other country gave the world so many successful electronic musicians.

recommend me some good french electronic music that isn't daft punk. I'm not challenging anyone, I just know a lot of daft punk already and want to listen to some new music. Also why are music threads in other boards so much better than in Sup Forums?

According to Wikipedia Carpenter Brut and Preturbator are French.

This

Air are all right if you like Daft Punk

What about La Femme? Or Noir Desir? There's also Monkey3, though technically it's Swiss from what I recall. And some of these are not really rock, but there's also ones like Manau, Tryo, Volo, Debout Sur Le Zinc, Eiffel, Indochine, Matmatah... Granted, I listened to a lot of these when I was an edgy teen, so they haven't all completely held up to the test of time, but I definitely still enjoy at least some of them to this day.
Plenty of good bands from any country if you take the time to look, it also helps if you're looking to learn the language since I learned plenty of French that way

Hello, we'll just be over here on our little island shaping music like normal.

If it wasn't for the post punk movement, early British synthpop, and the development of acid house electronic music wouldn't exist in its current form.

Ever heard of Kraftwerk?

Yeah, and Kraftwerk weren't as influential as people think. They might have done things first but they certainly didn't bring it forward.

This guy did: youtube.com/watch?v=zs-eFRbgn6M

Never heard of them.

Yeah, no.

Pretty sure you have m8

Ever heard of Jean-Michel Jarre?

He's a fraud

Yes, now, thanks to you.

All you ever do is steal music and add squeaky voices to it.

I like mr oizo

The Swedish and Dutch produce far more electronic music with a fraction of the population. French electro is horrible anyway.

You've not heard of Gary Numan?

Monkey3 is great when you're stoned

Never.

>no one mentioning french singer songwriters

Taxi girl was the best tho
