ITT: people that were able to trick millions of low IQ teenagers into thinking they were musical geniuses despite not knowing how to play a single instrument

Kanye can play the Piano though

...

there's several videos of kanye playing the piano in studio out there

tapping a single note repetitively doesn't count as knowing how to play the piano

oh hey its another literal low life talking about IQ's again

IQ's mean nothing if so then people like your majesty with high iq's would be ontop

I unironically enjoy Kanye's music, and don't consider him a genius, but respect the obvious care he puts into his work.

>muh fingers
>muh sheet music
>muh theoretical calculations
>muh lack of understanding musical creativity

That's not how you use an apostrophe

Who are you quoting?

*Whom

kill youreself

He was great pre mbdtf
This

you have never needed to be a brilliant instrumentalist, or really be able to play an instrument at all, to be a great musician and you never will have to.

there are plenty of esteemed classical composers who couldn't play an instrument particularity well (google is your friend), and there might actually be 0 who were world class at any instrument at all.

>Implying being an electronic /hip-hop producer is more easy

Kanye spent YEARS producing beats

This. Anyway can learn piano. Most seasoned pianists probably can't even work a computer, let alone begin to understand what Kanye does

musical geniuses need to know how to play instruments to be talented

lol this isn't the 1800s, no one wants your outdated methods of composition anymore

that wasn't even true in the 1800s. the only time it was ever true was in rock and jazz, and only in a subset of rock music where fans value that sort of thing.

Knowing how to write music is far more important than being able to play it.

Any moron can learn how to play other people's tunes with enough practice. You can't learn how to write beautiful melodies.

Found the subjectivist morons who are too lazy to learn an instrument and think making trap beats on a computer takes more skill than writing a symphony.

i swear to god theres no fanbase worse than classical fags theyre just human garbage

who said all he can do is tap a single note?

there are literally videos on youtube of Kanye actually playing piano

look it up if you don't believe me, faggot

Hah

Sorry to hear that you are too stupid for music that doesn't feature sick beats or epic riffs.

found the washed up guitar player who desperately wants to convince himself that spending years learning how to play other people's songs on guitar was a valuable use of his time

keep prejudging "ANONYMOUS" people on the internet user, youre doing a great job you fucking retard

>learning how to play an instrument is a waste of time
>stealing a part of another artists's song and putting a 4/4 drum loop over it isn't
Subjectivists, everyone

calling a hack to literally the voice of our generation

i guess we're an entire generation of hacks then

>He was great before his best album

...

He has an amazing ear for sound selection. Being able to play instruments doesn't mean you'll make 'good' music.

Kanye doesn't know how to write music though, and most of his melodies are blatantly "sampled" (plagiarized)

No Skrillex slander allowed

You don't need to say unironically. Nobody who listens to Kanye does it ironically.

Yes, technical aptitude at an instrument is what makes somebody talented. That's why Eddie Van Halen and Wes Borland have created more beautiful and moving pieces than talentless hacks like John Cage and Kharleinz Stockhausen, right?

I know OP is trolling here, but anybody who seriously thinks this way is a plebeian of the highest degree and should not be taking part in any serious discussion about music.

You're deliberately conflating this into an imaginary argument that isn't being made, but is much easier for pea-brains like yourself to refute. Nobody is saying technical aptitude is more important than content. But having virtually zero technical aptitude whatsoever makes you an inferior musician to somebody like John Cage or Stockhausen, who know how to perform many different instruments and thus have a wider musical scope, allowing for more interesting and creative ideas
