The trap genre of hip-hop is the highest form of art. Utilizing minimal qualities of edm to create precise hits, releases, building of tension, and releasing of said tension. Like an orgasm over and over. The lyrics just add to the energy and bounce around to guide you through the instrumental.
i actually dislike the album, but yeah i do agree that the way in which the majority of publications (esp ones that used to get that ad $$$ from anco clicks) wrote about it was petty and ridiculous.

I think the facination with hip hop, rnb, and other genres of african american decent is because leading corporations and right wing media is focusing on keeping the masses subdued by keeping them stupid (because nigger culture of full of glorifying stupidity and quick living). I hope one day we stop caring about hip hop and every young nigger who was a hood rat and happened to get noticed by some high powered music industry executive.
Frank Zappa was a terrible artist and he has like 3 songs that aren't a total waste of time.
His music was completely vapid beyond style and his style was just tacky random bullshit that didn't serve any purpose other than to look different, probably because otherwise everyone would just think he's a boring old fart. It's basically just fedora-core.
Here's an opinion that actually pisses people off, I've had this conversation a million times since I first heard him in middle school and everyone tells me I'm wrong but no one can ever explain why.

This one might not be that controversial, but Kanye West is NOT a musical genius. MBDTF is okay at best and The Life of Pablo is a genuinely awful album that I can't see how anyone could like.
I agree with that sentiment as well, but I think a lot of it comes with a racial tinge, since african american culture comes from a poor, oppressed root (and therefore has a much higher potential for degeneracy).

I try to enjoy albums as opposed to hate them
I just view it as a collection of songs that take inspiration from his past work. Pretty much the entire thing is his attempt at a straight party/pop album. No real cohesion or solid theme, just accessible stuff for people to play in their car, reminds me of Graduation a bit. The gospel parts did throw me off cause it's only there for like 3 tracks and makes you believe the album is going somewhere. I think it's good for what it is, but it's easy to see why people hate it (lyrics, simplicity, inconsistency, length, etc.). I would like to see West take more risks though, TLOP is easily his most safe album. But with this many albums in, can't really blame him for wanting to slow it down for one
