I've had no trouble producing on FL for years.
Literally the only thing that it didn't have and I needed at a point was changing the time signatures dynamically through the song.
Even this though does have workarounds.
Also its really easy to find some good free VST. just google what you're looking for.

I use ableton, and the only plug-ins i usually use are massive and serum, a lot of the in DAW instruments have tons of potential like operator, simpler, and the drum rack. And new plug-ins are really simple to torrent and get plugged in.

FL Studio is the easiest to learn and you can basically do anything in it.
