Which was worse, The Doors or The Beatles? I think The Doors imo even though they have some okay tracks
>some okay tracks
If this wasn't Sup Forums i'd respect your opinion, but now i'm behind my laptop, so I'm just going to say it: You have shit taste
>implying either of those bands are bad
this.

neither is really bad. They've both got some great stuff. Even though i really like the doors, they honestly have got a shit tracks. That being said, they are still audible. In the context of today, both of the groups' music might not be the best, but in their day, i'd say it was significantly more innovative. Just because something is old doesnt make it bad.
Ever notice how LCD Soundsystem totally ripped on this Iggy Pop song? Soon as I heard this I immeidately thought of Iggy.

Why do people think it's "ripping off" for an artist to quote another artist.
Surprised I don't ever see this mentioned

It should only be plagiarism when it sounds like a literal sample of another song
there is barely any similarity between any of those
Home = This Must Be The Place
Drunk Girls = White Light White Heat
All I Want = Heroes
just off the top of my head
You have no ear for music and shouldn't be allowed to listen to it.
It's done on purpose. He could have hid it if he wanted but Murphy was having fun taking cues from songs he loved and reworking them.
He's really transparent about it. He'll openly state in interviews where the songs came from.
