/metal/

If /metal/ existed in 1992, who would we have sided with?

old thread was shit

Darkthrone for sure

youtube.com/watch?v=WLpvUCGCWvQ
I'm posting it

I never liked Immortal. They're pretty much the KISS of black metal.

What about 1994?

Darkthrone. Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism is good, but Immortal would go on to release better albums. A Blaze in the Northern is an incredible album, and an essential in the genre.

I always liked Emperor the most

I'd still go with Darkthrone
And shame on you posting those tiny ass thumbnails and not showing the album art in all its majesty

Emperor or Mayhem.
Burzum would peak in 1996 and Darkthrone already peaked at that point.

...

So is Annihilator still the king of JUST or is it Metallica or In Flames now?

>Kings of just

That'd be Morbid Angel

i still don't think most people have processed how bad illud divinum insanus is yet. people bring up st. anger and lulu to shittalk metallica all the time, yet illud divinum insanus is just the elephant in the room.

>tfw a devout christian unable to listen to some killer fucking 90s black metal because it's so clearly satan worship

holy shit these riffs are pulling me in tbqh

you're not allowed to post on Sup Forums either, sinner

best Morbid Angel

Correct

That's not Covenant

>Sup Forums has black metal thread where OP posts melodic swedish black metal
>angry canadian comes in, calls it pussy shit and flood the thread with \m/ br00tal \m/ canadian bestial black metal
wew lad, why is it always the canadians that get autistic and elitist over metal on Sup Forums?

That's not Altars of Madness.

that and Formulas are equal

> why is it always the canadians that get autistic
fixed it for you, lad

that's not domination

Some of the most pretentious metalfags I've ever met are leafs, they're all either trve fags, or sporkfags.
Also metallum is ran by leafs so that should say a lot too

>Shining
>melodic

sure thing bro

>tfw Sup Forums is making fun of ROTN

>tfw this thread /slamz/ now
good job bois

>shining
>not melodic
?????????????????????

ever heard of dsbm, kid?

DSBM is extremely melodic what the fuck bro

What is the least melodic death metal that is still melodic

Intestine Baalism

What is the most melodic death metal that is not melodeath?

This or one of the big Swedish bands.

post brutal/heavier melodeath

What's the genre of this band? Happy Metal?
youtube.com/watch?v=XhfpYba2zSM

I love it and want to have sex with their mascot.

Traditional metal

Does meloslam exist?

None of those are slams

I would love meloslam with clean vocals

Dsbm and melo bm are not the same thing, mate

what's /meal/'s opinion on ozzy

He'll be fine

HELVETE

>/metal/ killed ozzy

blabbermouth.net/news/ozzy-osbourne-dead-at-67/

STOP

That Immortal album is way better.

>They're pretty much the KISS of black metal

That's why they're good

That's not Abominations of Desolation

>WE CRUSH JEHOVA'S CHURCH!!!!

...

Great, but second best singer in Black Sabbath

agreed, Ice T cant be matched

Love these guys, they're on tour with Tribulation now. Seeing them in Minneapolis on the 2nd

damn user I wish I could go to that show too but I'm busy

youtu.be/lWt7V-E9S7U

So heavy.

Sorry to hear about that, man. I'm sure they'll come back on tour when they release a new album.

Was the last one any good?

Anareta? It took a few listens to fully sink in, but at this point I may like it more then Ecdysis.

pretty sure 'Forging Towards the Sunset' is the most feels song ever, you're gonna have to get into nathrakh lads

How's /meal/ feel about Tundra Leech?

I kinda dig the hardcore vibe I'm getting off of it.

I think Fenriz should have sang on it, but it was pretty good. However, had it been another band I probably hadn't even cared to listen twice.

I liked it enough to preorder the album

nah it just happens to have more post-hardcore singsongy passages than their other songs

I mean, recent Anaal Nathrakh is pretty much just deathcore but with insane vocals.

>oh it just happens to herp a der

don't be a nigger, tune is immense

I like going HNNNNNNG from the depths of my soul to When Humanity is Cancer

Out of curiosity, what does /metal/ value more in its music?

Heaviness or interesting/unique instrument based composition?
Also, how many people here play an instrument?

youtube.com/watch?v=VdGFE5HK39U

gnnf

BLASTBEATS

MOSH PARTS

It really depends on the band and subgenre, but I like a mix between the two.

I play a bit of guitar but I'm shit

TRIPLET BITS LIKE DUGGADUDUN DUGGADUDUN DUGGADUDUN

and lyrics about war

I value cheesy melodies and enough uniqueness to keep me interested. That's why I don't like a lot of black metal - it has the cheesy melodies, but not enough uniqueness.

I play guitar.

SLAMZ

That's fair, I can respect that

Yeah, I kind of get what you mean

>leafs

haha :D

>/meal/

Doesn't stop DSBM from being melodic
doesn't stop it either from being garbage

Darkthrone

I'd like to say Darkthrone since every other band turned to shit or died, but that Emperor is one of the greatest metal albums ever made

youtube.com/watch?v=yE2rgWFAO2A

this video is neat

IMAGINE /METAL/, WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN

youtube.com/watch?v=yE2rgWFAO2A

God dammit.

Absolutely the riffs for Thrash, Drums and Vocals for Death and Ideology and aesthetics for BM, even though I don't precisely sympathise with the current BM doctrine I find it fascinating, if not ridiculously edgy to the point of it starting to get serious

I find it funny how people the same people who want Metallica to make another Kill 'Em All are the ones who complain about Hardwire being cheesy and forced, especially in light of this video.

It's like they conveniently forgot how horrible the lyrics for Hit The Lights and the original version of JITF are and then decided to bitch when they got what they asked for.

>people who want Metallica to make another Kill 'Em All

I think the problem is nobody wants this, everyone just wants the meme to die

i just want metallica to write music as well as they did back then
you can tell even with the classic tones that it ain't quite right, at best the main riff would make for a small transitional riff back in the classic days but instead it's half the song.

>you can tell even with the classic tones that it ain't quite right, at best the main riff would make for a small transitional riff back in the classic days but instead it's half the song.
this, it sounds much better with the older tones but it's still a shit song

Metallica was never that good. It's the Naruto of metal.

metal is the naruto of music

>at best the main riff would make for a small transitional riff back in the classic days but instead it's half the song.

So if I'm picturing this correctly, kind of like if the entirety of Damage inc were the danana-da-NAH-NUH-danana-nuh-NAH part?

music is the naruto of sound

>What about 1994?
pic related

sound is the naruto of vibration

sound is the naruto of the senses

/metal/ is fucking dead
