>ywn listen to turn on the bright lights for the first time ever again
Ywn listen to turn on the bright lights for the first time ever again
El Pintor was really good, though
never heard it senpai so guess i will
I KEEP FALLING
MAYBE HALF THE TIME
I actually liked the self titled ep
YOURE SO CUTE WHEN FRUSTRATED DEARRRR
YOURE SO CUTE WHEN YOURE SEDATED DEARRR
literally a great album
maybe the best 'indie' album ever along with siamese dream
>tfw u wont sleep in one of the 200 couches where you can sleep tite
let's settle this once and for all
strawpoll.me
this the goat moment along with
>YOU'RE LOOKING ALRIGHT TONIGHT
>YOUR HAIR IS SO PRETTY AND RED
>BABY BABY YOU'RE REALLY THE BEST
and the classic:
>DISH ONE ISH CALLED STELLA WAS A DIVER AND SHES ALWAYS DOWN
Why does it feel so good listening to this album while driving at night?
what are some good albums similar to this? they seem so hard to find.
Pic related is an amazing post-punk album thats kind of similar, something about that raw edged rhymic strumming is so good
>THE SUBWAY IS A PORNO
thanks for the rec. listened to the first song and loved it.
This was one of many albums where I didn't really see the big deal. My reaction on first listen was mainly 'huh, sounds like Joy Division'.
t. I listen to vocal only versions of albums man
This album actually just clicked with me. I had listened to it a while ago but it didn't do much for me.
It feels like I just discovered it yesterday.
>It's like learning a new language....
>tfw I'll never listen to The End for the first time again
I'm afraid you'll just have to carry that weight carry that weight a long time
BOOYYY
Same here, I like some post punk revival stuff but it's not great.
great album. Have you listened to Josef K?
>tfw you love turn on the bright lights but you avoid listening to it because it makes you mopy as hell
i'll check them out
SHE PUTS THE WEIGHTS INTO MY LITTLE HEART AND SHE COMES IN MY ROOM AND SHE TEARS IT APART AND
ive never heard it before but i see it posted here a lot
only interpol ive heard is the song with the puppets
Daily reminder that:
>Antics was TOTBL sans the atnosphere, thus a fantastic album
>OLTA is beautifully produced and detailed, also a fantastic album
>their only mediocre album is the s/t
>She swears I'm just prey for the female
>Well then hook me up and throw me, babycakes, 'cause I like to get hooked
on a related note, can we all agree that Leif Erikson is the best track on the album?
at least you can listen to it for the second time, newfag
end yourself
>not liking that kicking bass line
I actually didn't connect to it that much besides Obstacle 1 on my first few listens. But I popped this in one day randomly while walking around my neighbourhood at night and pic attached is what happened.
Now it's my favourite album of all time
They sound nothing like Joy Division. Can we stop this meme already?
I actually don't disagree; they're nowhere near as influenced by JD as some other bands, and they're way more influenced by The Chameleons than anything. But you can't deny the influence, plus no one knows what the fuck the Chameleons guys looked like so I just put in Ian on it because it's a meme pic
IIRC one of the Interpol dudes said in an interview or something they never really liked JD that much. I'd see them being more influenced by Television, The Chameleons and My Dad Is Dead more than anything. They apparently were also influenced by Catherine Wheel, which is always nice.
there's no "I" in Threesome
I feel like the lyrical themes of Paul Banks hasn't really evolved beyond their heights in TOTBL, and have become stale. You can only sing about sex and alienation so many times before it feels disingenuous
Btw I love TOTBL, Antics, and Our love to admire
did you notice that all their albums give off a red theme while self titled was blue?
there are a lot of good songs on self titled, but i prefer all others
a lot of his lyrics are great, but 9/10 times i'm into albums for the music. so honestly he can sing about the same stuff for as long as he wants, as long as they keep making amazing tunes.
The s/t was actually what got me into them. I really like the deppressive mood on that one. It has some killer songs (Barricade, Lights, All Of The Ways, The Undoing, Always Malayse, Success) but it's their most inconsistent effort. I'd still call it a good album.
OLTA is red? Always associated it with orange.
wtf I hate Interpol now
I fell In love with that album at first listen, and still listen to it today. Don't get why people hate it
No one really hates it. It got generally good reviews. It's their more dissonant work yet, really like the new sound.
i definitely associated OLTA with a red, frustrated yet passionate sexual energy
It might have been memers honestly, but most reviews were way below what it really
Deserved
Try It On is also a great track. i'm an interpol fan through and through
...
en.wikipedia.org
p much only p4k hated it, everyone thought it was a good return to par
it even got slightly better reviews than OLTA
en.wikipedia.org
iirc El Pintor is their best critically received record since Antics
this remix of public pervert tho
You should definitely check it out if you like atmospheric post-punk. Some of my favorite songs of all time are in this album, mainly this one, which I think is their best song: youtube.com
Tbh I'm okay with it. First time I listened to it I was pretty indifferent towards it. It has since grown to be one of my favorites tho.
I hate that I'll never get to relive the week that Art Angels came out, I listened to it like 20 times that week
i could but desu bros i don't even feel like it haha
the stella song is so overrated it's unbelievable
nyc, pda and untitled are fantastic though
>the stella song is so overrated it's unbelievable
We ain't going to the town...
Interpol is getting a lot of hate. I absolutely love them and yet understand why people don't dig their peculiar and monotone style. Still one of my fav bands, saw them live a couple of times and even had a quick chat with daniel kessler once.

Why did this album get shit on so much from critics?
it doesn't
how did you get this picture of me?
It was the most praised album from 2002 alongside Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Pitchfork even put it as the #1 album of that year.
