All of the sudden I have felt the need to listen to some heart wrenching, mood plummeting albums that shatter your hopes and dreams. An album that leaves you devastated at the end. Okay, so that is a bit too theatrical, but you get the point. So, what are the most depressing albums that you have come across?

Any Low album
Also Duster - Strastosphere
Duster - Stratosphere is such a strange album, in a good way, depending on which mind-state you are in the album can either seem super cosy or incredibly sad
...
Woods of Desolation - Torn Beyond Reason
Silencer - Death, Pierce Me
Netra - Melancholie Urbaine
Totalselfhatred - Totalselfhatred
i like you

This is probably the closest you'll get to what you're looking for op.
Joy Division and Leviathan are good choices as well.
...
Ok, but unless you're literally on holding a razorblade to your wrists, Silencer is silly.
this has made me cry a lot
no Lifelover?
antlers hospice every time
I am nothing but a cliche deserving of being shat as a corpse unceremoniously from a plane.

Diamanda Galas album of her screaming
Nice one. His best album imo
He wrote and recorded his last album close to death and in between breaks using a breathing apparatus.
Its one of his best.

Planning for Burial - Leaving
After fucking up hanging myself once I listened to this and overdosed on hydromorphone instead, it's a classic and I still listen to it quite a bit
>Not being into necro yiff
...
How do I into Newbury? What albums should I start with?
Joy Division - Closer
Red House Painters - Down Colorful Hill
Leviathan - The Tenth Sub Level of Suicide
Codeine - Frigid Stars LP
I honestly don't find this album depressing at all, despite the lyrical content, because it reminds me of the music my parents would put on in the car on road trips.
I love you.
one of my favourite bands, the dystopia self-titled is a good album too
Benji got me more laughs than feels
I listened it while going through a hard time for me and it definetely hit A LOT of feels.
I didn't like it anyway because it was too samey but some lyrics are definetely depressed / ing. Hoow can someone not feel it is beyond me t b h
Corissas weird or Keaton henson
This one always does it for me.
Quietly is his best imo, the 8th track fucking destroys me

Imagine slowly dying listening to The Disintegration Loops that would be nuts
Oh yes I wanted to suggest this, early Cat Power is really underrated here
never thought I'd be a wristcutting type
not that depressing, but I absolutely love it
more melancholic than depressing
really wanted to get into his music, but I can't stand this kind of vocals (same with Bon Iver)

Hm Red House Painters is better

Siouxsie And The Banshees - The Rapture
Siouxsie and the Banshees are more melancholic than depressing, especially their '90s pop albums.
that's nice user cool for you, music is subjective after all, But man when I listened to this it really got to me the lyrics just felt so real and man were the stories sad, although its not like I shred a tear or anything only atmosphere has done that to me
Pick up this box set.

>lolishit by chest flattener
