Sorry if I have shit tastes. Tried to get a little of everyone I listen to.

>blankface
>on a top ten
what the fuck are you on

Schoolboy is dope, I don't like many other of the new rappers

here's mine, pretty "pleb" but idc. Theres a reason these albums are regarded as great.

unironically like I'm actually not joking how do i enjoy something that's not doom

is Jay-Z this good? I've never listened to any of his solo albums, only WTT and whenever he wakes up enough to do some feature on something. Should I check him out? and if so what should i listen to?

Isn't the Frank album more of a straightforward R&B album? I think there's only like 2 rap verses on there. (Andre and Earl)

Your taste is exquisite, my friend.

that was difficult
probably these off the top of my head

TPAB over Maad city?

Yes. Yes he is. I love his stuff. And the producers he chooses are top notch I assure you:

Jay's Top 5:
1. Reasonable Doubt
2. The Blueprint
3. The Black Album
4. Blueprint 3
5. American Gangster

Other good ones:
Blueprint 2
Kingdom Come
Magna Carta Holy Grail

Avoid at all costs:
In My Lifetime Vol 1.

I have links if needed.

Yes.

Watch the throne is underrated as well

I didn't care for that album desu. Not a lot of tracks did it for me, a lot weaker production compared to both Ye and Jay's previous work

But I WILL admit That's My Bitch and Otis were amazing

pretty solid choices although i cant stand blueprint 3

nice choice with shades of blue

all that doom but no KMD baka

definitely listen to blueprint imo

you have all been out-backpacked

these are just recent faves, its hard af for me to do alltime top 10s

this was me a few years ago

listen to el-p's early shit. you have exmilitary on there so you'd prob like fantastic damage

good taste

I never got the hate that BP3 gets sometimes
(Keep in mind I focus a LOT on the beats)
The production on that album is some of the best Jay's ever had on one (Empire, Thank You, Off That, etc.)

>lil b

are you gay or something?

i was extremely close to putting funcrusher plus in my top 10. i don't listen to a ton of backpacker stuff nowadays but i love everything el-p does

honestly it's been a while since i've listened to it, but it was just kinda bland to me, for lack of a better word

im gay (im happy)

nah but lil b is honestly one of my favorite rappers, i first discovered him back in 2009 or 2010 and never looked back. he's my #3 most scrobbled artist.

+Madvilian
++Donuts
+Liquid swords

+LET

I HIGHLY suggest a Re-Listen. I think it's a great album.

Only problem is it's not on youtube/itunes/spotify because of Jay's tidal bullshit (I was lucky enough to buy it before tidal happened)

So here's a link to this bootleg-as-fuck streaming site: musicmp3.ru/artist_jay-z__album_the-blueprint-3.html#.V8o9oOkrLIU

just grabbed it on soulseek, i'll peep when this football game's over

Send recs my way

Bird in the Trap on play rn

hip-hop is like on my top 2 genre but I don't know much about it desusenpai

>albums not in order btw

IML is one of my favorites. Lots of heat on that album. "Where I'm From" for one.

Personals:

1. Reasonable Doubt
2. In My Lifetime Vol. 1
3. The Blueprint
4. The Black Album
5. Hard Knock Life

oh shit do i know you irl?

i put when the smoke clears over mystic stylez but your list is on point. Glad someone has the balls to give Juve credit.

As for recs I'd probably say King Geedorah, Jay Z, and Stankonia by OutKast would be up your alley.

However
>808s and Heartbreaks
Cmon buddy don't punish yourself like that Kanye has way better stuff....

no hate but it appears you should revisit the late 90s/early 2000s a bit

i dont know how one could consider this anything but fire

youtube.com/watch?v=lHitmmi2VdY

not in order
>My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
>The Infamous
>Good Kid m.A.A.d city
>Enter the Wu-Tang
>The Score
>Donuts (it counts)
>Summertime 06
>Colouring Book
>Run The Jewels 2
>Hell Hath No Fury
>Nothing was the same (guilty pleasure)

Some of the cornier/poppier beats kill the album for me. Sunshine, The City is Mine, and I know what Girls Like were just....awful to me.

But I DID like the intro, You Must Love Me, and Imaginary Players.

depends, do you know a guy who grew up in kansas and currently lives in cali? when the smoke clears is a great choice too. i like pretty much everything three 6 mafia have done. mystic stylez gets the nod for me personally for the lo-fi atmosphere

youtube.com/watch?v=zVHI5guRg0o

bars for days

i dunno what it is about 808s man. i was up on this guy before college dropout came out and after 808s dropped, i just found myself listening to it more than any of his other releases.

something about the vibe on that album. probably have some sentimental value attached to it, but kanye is pretty vulnerable on this one and the production is like nothing i've ever heard.

i'll grant you the great songs are few and far between but the bangers are bangers,

should we count r&b in this too seeing that hip hop and r&b are often merged together by radio, charts, and awards

Just really getting into rap/hh and don't really know what I like yet.

Someone mentioned the idea of conspiracy rappers to me? Who's in that circle?

eerrrggghhhhhahahahaaahhhhaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHZHZHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh

youtube.com/watch?v=aZHHzIBnis4

Any recs welcome its always nice seeing hip hop threads on here

Okay yeah I'll give you that, the album has TWO amazing bangers. Paranoid and Robocop. THOSE were great beats.

Anyway, legit suggestion: Throw it out and get Drake, Drake improves that style by ten fold, mostly by having good beats. (HEYO!)

there's definitely overlap but i think they're distinct enough not to merge them. i don't know how i'd pick 10 albums from r&b and hip hop combined desu

oh and if you do go with drake.. just completely ignore views and thank me later..

the best intro is obviously so far gone or take care, but nothing was the same is a big guilty pleasure

>Second person to compliment 808s and Heartbreaks
Why must you hurt me like this? Cmon man it burns Kanye has way better stuff.

If we're doing R&B too I'm making a seperate chart, hang on .

hey reddit (^:

take care is honestly a classic. i think it's the best realization of his sound. i thought IYRTITL was pretty solid too

yeah i'll be doing the same

I totally feel you there. I just enjoy the songs you mentioned more than most of the stuff on Blueprint.

Blueprint started a different era with more glossy big budget production. Some of that stuff is good but I like the older vibes.

Idk man i really enjoyed 808s but i do agree kanye def has better

i do really like the album. but as someone who has issues listening to albums without anything in the background... its a bit too long, especially in its ending where its easy to get bored

I understand what you mean, but glossy samples are my shit, personally...when it's done right....(Dead serious when I say Just Blaze is my favorite hip hop producer).

But yeah I DO see the appeal of the good parts of In My Lifetime, I just wish he had more stuff like that instead of.....
youtube.com/watch?v=b4J-wTP-GdU

rec me some stuff, i want some obscure classics
ab-soul, capital steez, some lupe fiasco
no
travis scott rodeo
check out some more southern hiphop. ugk, scarface, three 6 mafia, isaiah rashad, etc

Just get Drake instead. He has better beats I PROMISE you.

and of course i fucking forgot the image
here it is

and more problematic lyrics if are one of those people who listens to anything feminists hate

no bully pls

check out Niggaz of Destruction, Dreamworld and Obaa Sima, they're all pretty obscure and unique, plus they're all great

desu "check out some more southern hip hop" is good advice for the vast majority of hip hop charts i see here

POLARIZING OPNION:

i don't like outkast

thanks bro. drake is kind of hit or miss for me. he's made a career off of vulnerable but 808s felt like distilled hardcore depression.

weird that so far gone and 808s came out right around the same time. both great records.

So Far Gone, IYMI and NWTS are my favorites. NWTS is the most consistent imo. Not sure if IYMI is an album but that's probably my favorite.

Views sucked. I feel like he's trying to make me feel bad that he's rich somehow.

this is definitely true, there are tons of great, incredibly obscure southern hip hop albums

that song is indefensible bro. i can't even lie.

just blaze used to be fire. does he just DJ now?

Nah he's done a few beats, he did a beat for the last track on Snoop Dogg's most recent album.

I hate it he just sounds lazy honestly I'm more into this kind of rap m.youtube.com/watch?v=dO7I6rZLxRg

nah we've probably crossed paths if you're in ca though lol

wanted to recommend DJ Smokey too

youtube.com/watch?v=VgpVlj6WmPI

Creator of here
Here is my totally 100% completely unbiased list of my favorite r&b albums.

I forgot the fucking picture, god I'm stupid.

/ here
everybody is wanting to do r&b, here is why it should be separate
its a very different genre

Wu Tang Forever

ODB, Ghostface, Raekwon solo albums. (Just see Top Rated on BestEverAlbums)

Rza - Bobby Digital is a weird one but I enjoy it. His other solo stuff aint great.

S/O 808s

you should check out Stevie Wonder
I think you'd really like him

I might consider him, not sure yet...I've heard good things though.

Actually you know what I need to fix my chart real quick hang on.

not even

i feel you. i cant really get with too much aggressive shit these days. all these interscope dudes seem too angry now.

i just like ignorant funny shit. all started with three 6 mafia.

r&b

debated putting makonnen in there but fuck it

Ok everyone hope you like my totally unbaised top R&B albums chart.

this is dope

Should check out the game plus I never see him posted m.youtube.com/watch?v=Rsa3lvxlCZo

some of the mixtapes got taken off youtube but all his stuff is here.

djsmokey.bandcamp.com/music

word, thanks for the rec

I'm finding it hard to find hip-hop albums that are consistently great, lotta albums with great cuts but usually 2-4 weak tracks where I can't justify calling it great

Psssst.....Reasonable Doubt by Jay Z. Not a flaw on it. Highly recommended.

good point, Black Album just resonates a little more for me
Black Album=Reasonable Doubt>Blueprint>American Gangster

Thanks for the recs man ill be sure to peep

You got good top Jay albums man.
There's only like 1 bad track on each (with RD being the exception)

ITT: Things that stop you from liking otherwise great albums
>Pic Related
>MF Doom's voice

Whoops, meant to be new thread. my B

Post the thread here I might participate.

you're a faggot

generic as fuck I'm sorry

>r&b top 10
>no d'angelo

I'm not that into hip-hop or rap, but these are my favorites.

oh snap
solid pick on deep puddle dynamics
gotta give that album another listen

>siah & yeshua
based

thanks, what do you think im missing, any good recs?

yo we've got a lot of the same pics look at

...

...

>bino
>mac miller
>2001
do you even go here?

I figured people would disagree with BTI and 2001 but Mac Miller's Faces is fucking amazing and I wish it was universally seen that way.

Faces is a great tape

Milo - So The Flies Dont Come
Lootpack - Soundpieces: Da Antidote
Sole - Bottle Of Humans
Kidz in The Hall - School Was My Hustle
Jeru The Damaja - The Sun Rises In The East
Fu-Schnickens - F.U. Don't Take It Personal

I know a lot of hip-hop so rec me cool underground stuff

I hope this is satire
